How I Found Out I Was Visually Impaired!!!
Hello I’m interested in para climbing how would i get started as a legally blind person low vision rock climber. Love your videos
It depends on where you live! If you are in an area that has an organization like ParaCliffHangers then you can sign up and get started in a judgment free zone. However, if your area doesn't have a local paraclimbing organization, just head to your local gym and sign up for climbing lessons. There is a Paraclimbing subreddit where you can find links to various teams across the US. Good luck, and have a great time exploring this amazing sport!
It’s cool to hear that you are still into climbing. You can never go wrong with food. I have never been to Foodie Land, but now I know what to expect there.
i’m so obsessed w you
I am so glad in retrospect that you ended up with Norte!
Hay Ellie what’s your guide dogs name

Hello there, Elie, do you remember me lol hope you’re having a great day. I may the force be with you.
Hi
Why hello there! This all seems so interesting!! Thank you for sharing these videos!
Glad you like them!
@@TheFakeEllie I also see that you are a fan of musical theater????? I am as well!!!!
I even like the background beats / music you got going! Thank you for the inspiration!
Thank you!!
@@TheFakeEllie ah! I’m so good at long hair, but bad at words.. I want to recommend a French twist, but horizontal. A comb or claw-clip would work! To secure the earbud This video has it, 5 minutes in. I can find a larger picture if that would help! th-cam.com/video/bat80iAqygk/w-d-xo.html
@@talitherose Oooo!! Thanks! I’ll check out the video. I’m not quite sure how a claw clip would secure it but I’ll give it a try!!
I'm a blind paraclimber who started in Sep, a couple of months before Ellie. I've been training too, so it's so fun and cool to be part of this! I'm grateful for the audio descriptions that brings the visual to life! I wish there was more audio descriptions for paraclimbing videos...I absolutely echo the amazing and awesome fun, community, and growth building! Excited for next and this journey!
bruh
Hi Ellie
Sometimes disabled students grow up to be teachers. Unbeknownst to the profs in & textbooks used in teacher prep programs like one called The Psychology of Exceptional Children. I had no idea being blind and physically disabled meant my intellectual acuity was negatively impacted.
The singing tho😂nice:)
I really like watching packing for camp videos and I honestly really liked yours since you explained things with more just - fun explanation 😂 I really like your personality and your also very pretty!!
😭🫶✌️ thank you!! I’m guessing you will be back on my channel for next summer then? I also plan on doing a packing video for a cruise this fall!!
@@TheFakeEllie Yes, hopefully, if I'm going back to my camp next summer (probably will) it gets me hyped up for it a lot. I will make sure to check that video out when it comes 😄
I’m so happy you did the video! Told you it would be amazing!
Ellie, it’s Alexa from bungalow four. Can’t wait to see you at camp this summer! Yes girl.
This is awesome and informative! Where did you get the sparkly sunscreen, face wash with the cute little drying rack, TYL bin, shower caddy, and the storage drawers?
Omg, I have decent vision with glasses but I'm extremely light sensitive at this point, I can't go outside without sunglasses. And even then, it becomes an issue because they don't completely block out the light with the glasses under them, so I've been trying to just use my prescription glasses inside and at night, yada yada yada... So I really feel bad using a cane outside, because I don't feel like I'm "blind" enough to, but I'm learning to accept that if I need to use it, I need to use it. Screw what everyone else says/thinks. Thank you for this video!!! Subscribed!!! Also, you commented on my post on r/blind and I had to check out your TH-cam channel 😁
As someone who was going to school to be a teacher and IS disabled I can tell you they do not properly teach teachers about disability. It’s horrible. They talk about accommodations and embracing diverse students. However they never modeled that with me? My disability just meant more and more extra work and them conveniently forgetting and putting me in situations they know I cannot do. Putting me in a one year old room for a field experience knowing fully well I have mobility issues then holding it against me later. Is that an excuse for teachers acting like that? No but it’s definitely a reason and it’s something that absolutely needs to be changed.
I finally am starting to feel comfortable announcing I’m autistic and this is exactly what I go through and how I feel I’ve been infantized my whole life and constantly getting unnecessary reminders that non disabled people have it the hardest and to cut teachers slack because “there are so many students that are severely disabled and need private coaching” BUT I’M NOT ONE OF THOSE STUDENTS!!
Love it!
So happy about this video thank you so much (: I really need tips how to deal with ableist teachers tho
EHC is the place to be!!! *clap*
What’s your number 1 camp must HAVE?
I'm late, but SUNSCREEN!!!!
Wish I could join you guys this year! I already know you’ll do great as a counselor🤙🏼 Have a fun and safe summer Ellie and Norte!
Thank you so MUCH! We are sad we won’t get to see you! But hopefully next year you can meet Norte!
Haha I am also bribing a journal. Great video
There are some shorts that I got on Amazon, that I can’t get other places… Also, Amazon has better prices for generic over the counter medications…
I’m so happy for you Ellie!!! Way to go!!!
“special education” has literally became a insult. the term “sped” is a insult and is used as a synonym for “stupid”. i hate it. disabled people are people and should be treated as such. accommodations are necessary, exclusion is offensive. the school system does not differentiate between the two.
This is very much the comment❤️
So you're mad at the word "sped"? No one actually thinks disabled people are stupid. If they do, they are dumber then most disabled people. That's how the internet is. Do you come on the internet to be safe from insults about disabilities or anything? If you do, you're dumber then the people that think disabled people are dumb.
I’d love another video about ableism.
I’ll put it on the list! Thank you for your suggestion!
In 7th grade, we were I think doing a unit in science on erosion. When I got the test in large print, I did the test, but it took me about 3 hours. My teacher accused me of daydreaming when in fact, because erosion is kind of a visual thing, and the fact that I don’t have depth perception, I couldn’t understand the concept. It infuriated me.
I’m sorry you had to go through that test with out an audio describer
I did adapted P. E. at my district because it would be dangerous for me to play sports with balls flying... If I got hit in the head with a ball, I could lose my vision. My APE teacher was super nice thankfully.
That’s amazing! I can’t count all the times I go hit in the head by a ball in pe
Well now it's fine because us kids nowadays are pussies and can't deal with stuff like dodgeball so they're now insanely careful. It's good but bad at the same time.
You know, this is the kind of thing that really makes me angry at the ignorance and in some cases idiocy we as disabled students and adults face in our day-to-day lives, and society as a whole. Lovely video. #equalaccess
At my Christian school, I remember being discriminated against... I wanted a lead role because it was my last year at that school and usually the leads go to the 8th graders... I was stuck behind this wooden house and I played the mom of one of the leads... I wish that the teachers could’ve actually seen what I could do instead of just assuming that because I’m half-blind, that I couldn’t have done a lead role...
I wear a contact which corrects my vision enough to where I can go places without a cane, but when it comes to education, that’s when I need help the most, especially concerning eye strain and fatigue.
I’m half-blind and I completely get what you mean about not fitting into either the sighted or blind community completely...
Just remember you’re not the only one who feels that way! ❤️
@@TheFakeEllie Thank you Ellie!!! I definitely feel like I’m in the middle a lot...
I love this Ellie!!!
Thank you! ❤️
