Good vid. FYI - Bay of Fires was given its name in 1773 by Captain Tobias Furneaux who saw the fires of Aboriginal people on the beaches.
Yes thank you. It was also a meeting place for Aboriginal family groups such as Panpe-kanner, Leener-rerter and Pinter-rairer.
Cool video; nice music who sings the song on this video?.
G'day Dave. It's ai
At 2:40. the plague reads 'Captain Cook landed January 26, 1777'. That's interesting.
Yes I thought that too.
Just found a video of you in peaceful bay had to see if you were still recording, love seeing real Aussie review keep it up
It looks nice mate.
"It was great to camp out back, stroll over to the pub, enjoy a nice meal, and have a few beers."
I rode up Jacobs ladder in a race was tough
That must have certainly been a challenge
great video. we live inlaunceston so have stayed at wrest point a few times, my first time there was back 36 years ago and it looked nothing like it does now. we was at the country club casino in launceston and i won 2 nights accomodation at wrest point in a tower room, so were getting the bus down to hobart in 4 days and going to stay at the casino over the weekend, im really looking forwatd to it :)
Thank you, Debbie! I think you'll really enjoy it. Let me know what you think when you're back.
It doesn't look like it's changed much since its early days. There used to be a bingo room that opened every Sunday.
I think the only change is the lower floors when it got flooded a few years back.
@@gdayaustraliatv Really, it got flooded? That would have been awesome to see. I saw the Sandy Bay Area and the whole city the morning after it snowed in the 80s. It was beautiful.
@@RiverDanube 2019 it was flooded.
What a classy interesting pair !
Hahahaha, Thanks Steve, We hope to get to cooktown next year.😀
Looks like a nice place

Would have been more interesting without sound clip. We go to these places for peace and tranquility, but throwing that music in stuffed it up.
Water is fairly warm in rosebud. And I've never seen a box jelly here.
I've never seen any either.
Funny tell them their dreaming
Such a shame that I drove pass this place this afternoon without stopping but I was wondering about this place that's why I am here watching your video. Thanks for sharing, next time if I ever get a chance to come over again, I'll make sure that I make a stop and check out all these places, especially the serenity and the lake!

How’s the serenity!
Ahhhh the serenity.
Apparently there was problems, McHitch have now closed down.
Oh wow I didn't know. I thought it was due to ill health. What sort of problems were there?
@@gdayaustraliatv Not sure, but one site mentioned troubles with the uni joint on the auto coupler - which surprises me as it was a Toyota 200 series universal joint.
@@brianhignett8954 if there is a problem I hope they recall the product. That could be a serious issue.
Awesome spot! Iv had that steak too! 🤤
