It's a Gas Gas Gaslow

I wild camp in Loch Lomond to see how much gas I use over a weekend. Gaslow refillable test.
Can you fit a refillable gas system to your motorhome for under £200?
มุมมอง 4Kปีที่แล้ว
I installed a Gaslow 11kg refillable bottle to my motorhome and a remote filler point on the exterior for under £200. 11kg bottle was £130 , remote filling kit was £49.99 and calor adapter was £19.99. All bought from eBay. Only extra tool I needed was a 70mm hole saw that I borrowed. The fitting was straight forward enough and there were no surprises. I have since gone to the service station an...

Thanks for this. I liked seeing you go through the mental processes.
We’ve just bought this exact model! Upgrading from a caravan - so excited 🙌
Sure you'll love it, we love ours. Can I be cheeky and ask what you paid? I'm thinking of putting ours on the market on the near future.
Under 15!!
@@motorhomingwithjakeandchuc4350Did you put it on the market?
Don’t you need to be Gas Safe registered to fit this legally? I found this legislation to explain. Anyone can install gas to their campervan as long as it’s for personal use only, and they are ‘competent’ enough to do so. Competent Definition ‘Having the necessary ability, knowledge, or skill to do something successfully.’ Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations 1998 (GSIUR) states: ‘Competence is a combination of practical skill, training, knowledge and experience to carry out the job in hand safely, and ensuring the installation is left in a safe condition for use. Knowledge must be kept up to date with changes in the law, technology and safe working practice.’ - Guidance 3(1)-(2) In other words, someone competent would be expected to install gas to the same level as a gas engineer and adhere to current requirements. However, suppose the camper is being rented out. In that case, anyone who does work on the campervan needs to be competent, be aware of the current standards and hold relevant qualifications. Therefore, a qualified gas engineer registered with Gas Safe would be required. Furthermore, if you’re renting out a camper, you are classified as a landlord. So, an appropriate certificate must be issued (we cover this below). In fact, you can’t rent out your camper without this certificate.
Hi looking for a gas cover wondering where you purchased it ? Tia 😊
Amazing views and yes id pay a tenner to be safe and secluded.Picking mine up Wednesday converting to Gaslow ASAP.Thanks for the tips
The bottle was from an ebayer also but I have seen them numerous times for approx £125.
The adapter was an ebay purchase from an individual but it is a gaslow part.

Hi Jake, Great video, thank you. I want to do the exact same thing to my motorhome, any chance you can post links to the refill kit and adaptor you used, please?
Looks great… can’t wait to go visit. Thanks for the info .. more videos please! But please stop saying “eh” 😂😂

The milk before water wounded me
It's a very contentious issue.
Nice one guys. We're thinking of taking our CI to Spain next year but like you say it all depends on Covid etc. Great Vlog :)
Thanks for showing us this one. Always looking for new places to stop over and the What3words links really help :)
Its been interesting watching your travels around Arran. Look forward to your next trip :)
Thanks, nice to get some feedback.
Agree with you on the steak matey, if you need a steak knife then something isn't right :)
Another good vlog matey, although you need to put subtitles up when you're in the mountains as the wind was louder than you ha ha. All good though. I think I'm around your age but I wont be tackling that walk ha ha :) We have the same van but ours is a 55 plate so its interesting seeing you in yours. There are slight differences like our over the cab bunk window is on the drivers side but mostly it looks the same. My Wife's 106 year old Grandma lives in Denny near Stirling so maybe when Covid eventually dies down we could meet up and Jake and Chuckles could show Steve and Liz parts of Scotland we've never seen before in our vans :)
Could be a laugh. Need to look at doing subtitles.
Nice vlog matey. We've not been on Arran before but will definitely try it out next time were up there. How long is that ferry? Apologies if you said in the vid :)
Thanks Steve, it's 55mins.
Nice Video. We have the same van on a 55 plate and our wardrobe is ok. We got the shelves idea from your other video too which is a major improvement for us :) One question I have is what's that display you have between the fire extinguisher and the main control (Above the door)?
I think your talking about the display for the solar panel.
@@motorhomingwithjakeandchuc4350 Oh yes, of course. I'm still wondering whether to get a solar panel for ours although we've only had a couple of nights Wild camping so not really needed solar as the batteries held up ok
@@stevepjackson I fitted it just to keep both batteries topped up. We only usually have the phones on charge or maybe the lights on at night. Everything else runs on gas. I only fitted a 100 watt panel, not enough to run a sizeable inverter. Seems to be working out fine but we've only been away once so far. Maybe as lockdown eases we can have longer away to test. Think we'll still have every few nights on a site though as I think it's nice to have a decent hot shower every few days.
@@motorhomingwithjakeandchuc4350 Slightly off topic of this video but do your water levels work on the control panel? Ours always show red lights for empty even when full. I tried to get my hand into the fresh water tank to give the sensor a clean but the best I get now is when the fresh gets low the first green light lights up but this isn't good. I'm wondering whether to look into changing the sensor. Not too bothered about the waste levels not working as we normally empty that when we refill the fresh water :)
@@stevepjackson never had a problem with the control panel. Dont really use it, never thought it was that accurate enough to trust. Usually I'll just lift the seat and have a look, as for the waste I just empty that every chance I get. Think your probably right to investigate the sensor. That's where I'd start.
Thanks for this video, very helpful. We have a 2005 Carioca 656 and we want a solar panel but its the drilling through the roof we're worried about :) I will bite the bullet soon... I'm sure.... maybe
Thanks for the reply. It's only one hole needed. Take your time, as I did, and all should go well.
you have made it look so easy, thank you
