I appreciated the comment about Tomlin’s “coaching tree.” He must have a fragile ego since he hardly ever brings in high profile coaches with the exception of Mike Munchak, Todd Haley and Brian Flores (hired as a favor since he didn’t have a job). Now let’s look at Bill Cowher’s coaching tree… it reads like a virtual all star roster: (14 coaches became head coaches) Dom Capers, Chan Gailey, Jim Haslett, Dick LeBeau (HOF), Marvin Lewis, Mike Mularkey, Ken Whisenhunt, Bruce Arians, David Culley and Mike Vrabel who played for Cowher and later became a head coach. 3 of Cowher’s went on to win Super Bowls themselves.

What's wrong with you people? McCarthy! Tomlin has lost this team, and we all know what that means. Adios amigo. First the team gives up on the coach, then, the coach gives up on the team. Does a situation get any more done? I refuse to believe that the Rooney's' can't see this for what it is, because what it isn't is viable, it simply can't work. The Bears would sell their soul for Mike, he needs to go there. I like what Jimmy Johnson suggested, trade the Cowboys for McCarthy.

Tomlin lost the locker room and he's never gonna get it back. He'll be a midseason firing possibility next season.

Despite being jerked around by Tomlin, Mason Rudolph went 8-4-1 as a starting QB for the Steelers. Tomlin had the QB to win with, but he panicked. That panic, combined with Tomlin's ego and stubbornness, led to the mistakes of Mitch Trubisky-Tomczak and the MASSIVE reach drafting of Kenny Panic. Tomlin's terrible evaluation of Rudolph's ability and leadership will be his longest-lasting mistake.

Hire teddy bridgewter. He has experience coaching this level of a football team.

I'm from Europe and been a Steelers fan since the 90s. I saw my first Steelers game on guard duty in the german army. Back then we only had a few playoff games on TV, otherwise we had to buy American sports papers, which were very expensive. And sometimes there were only a few snippets about our team in them. But it didn't matter, the main thing was you got new information. My heart is very much with the Steelers, I've even been to Heinz Field a couple of times - holy ground. With all my passion and all my support for my team, I say: enough is enough! We need a new coach and a new structure. It's better to go through leagues basement for 5 years and start fresh than remain in mediocrity with Tomlin. We'll never win anything relevant with him. He had his time with Cowhers team and a locker room full of all pro`s and leaders. Ben saved him all this years but now we see what he really is. A good man, good motivator but not a good coach.
