    What is with the blowing after every shot? Is it to introduce corrosive moisture into your gun's barrel?

    • @coppersmithable
      @coppersmithable 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      In fact, the gun was new having some dieseling, so, I blew to check if any smoke is there at muzzle after the shots. Clean the barrel regularly. Dieseling abated soon. Had to change the spring recently, shoots more accurate after the break in.

    kraigero you should download the free hawke chairgun program you can enter the caliber pellet you want , the brand of pellet and the pellet weight, the fps of the gun how far away your going to shoot , and it will list the fpe at any given distance, the drop amount of the pellet, and a bunch more info . you can also pick the retical and it shows the retical on the screen and as the distance you pick increases or decreases a dot moves up and down on the cross hair and mil dots to let you know what mildot to put on the target allowing you to determine if the scope you have will show the impact at that distance or not .Knowing your pellet travel and its range possibility's ,how many fpe you can get out of the pellet at a given distance will help you decide what caliber you need . A few things you need to know is what are you shooting at , what fpe is needed to put it down , how far away will you be shooting at . I would pick the farthest distance you plan on shooting what the most fpe is needed , then open the program and see what caliber will do what you need . I think a bigger caliber at close range is aways better because you have more fpe but is you increase your yardage a heaver pellet drops faster and you have to have a scope that has a really large elevation range to be able to keep what your aiming at on the scopes markings. And you can do that also on the program . with a 25 cal ,lets say you have a scope that has 20 moa of adjustment from center thats 6 mil dots you can add to your distance and thats a prerry common amount of adjustment with out spending over 100 dollars for a scope. With the 25 cal camo hunter pellets and your zero set at 30 yards ,and lets give it the advertised fps of 750 ,and you can see that its all ready less fpe than the 22 cal the 25 is at 25.3 and the 22cal is at 28.9 . and your total distance using all 6 of you mil dot adjustments put you at 106 yard looking at your last mil dot on the scope . There is what I think about the 25 cal on the hatsan with only750 fps You get more fpe from the 22 cal because the 750 fps is to slow for a 25 caliber pellet. you need at least 800 fps to equal what you get from the 22 cal so why pay more for the ammo and get less and not have the range you would with the 22 cal . . With my 22 cal I can shoot out to 220 yards and still be on a mildot on the scope I have and at that distance I'm down to 1.6 fpe which is about the guns useful limit and its at the scopes limit also at a 30 yard zero point . you can get more distance out of the scope my tilting it on the gun but if your out of fpe there's no use of having it go any farther . The other thing is the availability of the ammo . A 25 cal might be hard to find and you might have to order it . I would stick with the 22 cal. Its easy to find ammo cheaper you can get 500 rounds for 8 dollars at walmart. If your going to use the gun for squirrels , rabbits , turkeys ,racoons ,red foxes,bobcats, coyotes a 22 cal out of this gun will do the job easily. watch this video the 25 cal is one hard hitting gun .th-cam.com/video/O0FjwFZGIbA/w-d-xo.html

    • @justliketolook
      @justliketolook 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was going to ask the same thing . I have the same gun and according to my Hawke chairgun pro and my stop watch .The program lists the time it takes a particular pellet to get to the target . I timed it at .48 sec ,which is right on 106 yards with a 22 cal crosman premier 14.3 grain pellet and 950 fps . At 106 yards the pellet has 7.0 fpe. Here is a list of animals and what it takes in fpe to kill them 1) Gray squirrel/Fox Squirrel - 4.5fpe 2) Eastern Cottontail/Swamp Rabbit - 4fpe 3) Jack Rabbit White, Black, and Jack O' lope - 4.5fpe 4) Raccoon/ Bandit - 9fpe.. if it's a big one, 10fpe. 5) Virginia Opossum/ County Rat - 10fpe 6) Ground Hog/ Wood Chuck - 7-8fpe (depending on size) 7) Gray Fox - 8.5fpe 8. Red Fox - 9.5-10fpe 9) Bobcat - 9fpe 10) Bullfrog - I have no clue, but 2fpe should do the job. 11) Snapping Turtle - no clue again but I would think at least the same as bird or squirrel. 12) Crow - 3.5 fpe head, 6fpe body/vitals 13) Pigeon - 3 fpe head, 5fpe body/vitals 14) Sparrow - 2.5fpe, it doesn't matter where you hit them. 15) Starling - So he could kill a rabbit at that distance with power to spare. With a swfa 3-15 scope mounted on the gun you can take a 220 yard shot and still be on a mil dot on the scope so you can hit the target time after time . With a 30 yard zero setting this scope gives you a 18 mil dot adjustment range from center point up or down and 36 total mil adjustment for you moa people thats 123 moa adjustment. And at 220 yards this gun still has 1.6 fpe enough for a starling or to knock over my little orange silhouette air gun chicken .

      lol Its just my 2 cents ,I don't know what its worth .But it hawke chairgun pro is a great program and I use it all the time and they even have it to go on your phone as a app. Once you have your scope setup and picked a pellet you can print a cap stricker with the mil dot distance ratical picture .

      For long range and hard hitting... go for the . 25 cal and heavier pellets such as Benjamin dome. I've tested it myself at ranges 175-200 yards with fairly good accuracy and a fantastic punch sound. Angle was about 5-10 degrees. At that distance the energy falls from about 30 to about 10-15 ftp. If you want short distance killing penetration go for the .177 and light pullets. ( up to some 50 yards ) For distances 50-150 yards Im pretty shure the .22 with a medium weight pellet does the best job. Averall the .22 is the best rifle in my opinion.

    I can't decide between .22 or .25.. does .25 actually carry energy well down range? By the time it reachs the target is it still going enough ftlbs to beat .22. I heard its accurate in .25 but was concerned the gun isn't powerful enough. Any suggestions?

  • @Munky332
    @Munky332 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    JSB exact kings is usually a good one. its different for every gun, and by that i mean EVERY gun. two hatsan 125's in the same caliber can have 2 totally different pellet choices. if your having trouble deciding, go buy a pellet sampler pack google "straight shooters pellet sampler". couple others to try might be pred polymags, H&N field target trophy, superdomes. before you do that, put a good 500 shots through it. and maybe give it a tune-up (clean up internals and regrease/change seal)

U can see it on Google Earth. The easiest aproach to lake is also from neelum valley. If you want to aproach from Kaghan side, you have to cross Ratti Gali pass. Thanks for viewing and comments.
