Welcome to the official WiscoUplander TH-cam channel! I am an avid outdoorsman who enjoys upland and waterfowl hunting along with big and small game hunting. Most of my adventures are filmed in Wisconsin, however I do travel to other states in pursuit of my favorite birds and large game. In the off season I love to fish, camp and look for whitetail sheds. I have a two-year-old German Wirehaired Pointer named Remi who is my companion and loyal hunting partner. Remi has no paid or formal training and has been only trained by me. Most of what I have taught Remi comes from my background as a Law Enforcement K9 Handler and self education via reading, TH-cam and networking with other hunting dog handlers. We have a lot more work to do but every season we both improve our skills and find more birds. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the channel!
December Pheasant Hunt SW Minnesota Public Land
Remi and I headed to the southwest region of Minnesota again in pursuit of some late season wild roosters! We had a lot of hen action during this trip, and we only walked away with one rooster. All in all, it was a great trip, and we hope to get back to the area one more time before the season closes!

Pallet Hunting Blind-DIY
มุมมอง 553หลายเดือนก่อน
I built a makeshift bale blind for deer hunting on a very low budget (under $60) using recycled wood pallets, scrap wood, chicken fencing, tarps and burlap. This is an original design, and it isn't the prettiest piece in the world, but it works great!
Grouse Hunting-Equipment Failure & Mistakes Made

Remi and I checked out a new plot of land for some ruffed grouse action. That spot wasn't very good, so we returned to a local section of Wisconsin DNR public land we have hunted previously. Remi got into some grouse and woodcock but unfortunately, we couldn't connect on any grouse. Woodcock season was closed at that time, so I was unable to shoot any of those birds. Whitetail deer close up encounter! Humble Soup-No Ducks
มุมมอง 2802 หลายเดือนก่อน
I went out duck hunting at two public land locations. I only saw one duck and went home empty handed....It was a disappointing couple of mornings, but I had a really cool encounter with a whitetail doe under 10 yards and watched some early rut action along the river flowage.
Pheasant Hunting-Bonus Woodcock!

Morning hunt at Whispering Emerald Ridge Game Farm. We were scratch hunting which essentially means we did not plant any pheasants and we hunted previously planted birds. The game farm also has wild birds that roam the property and occasionally other game birds such as ruffed grouse and woodcock aka Timberdoodle's venture into certain portions of the land. We had an amazing morning taking 5 roo...

Grouse Hunt-Public Land
มุมมอง 2463 หลายเดือนก่อน
Remi and I got out for another grouse hunt on a section of WI DNR public land. The conditions forced the grouse to seek thick cover, making for difficult scent work and shooting environments. Thankfully we were able to get one out of the group after a hard-fought battle. Check it out!

Did you check heater for mouse nest? Might have been the problem
@@stevedenoyer5956 that was part of the problem for sure!
Opening weekend is a three day hunt weekend in Wisconsin.
@@stanleybuck4195 the Wisconsin gun deer season is a 9 day season total starting on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Not sure what you’re trying to say?
Nice video. I hunt SW MN. The signs that say bird/duck sanctuary. You typically can hunt them after the duck season is over. My buddy has a gsp who is afraid of a Beeper collar. Do you find the bell collar potentially scaring up birds as they hear it?
@@ronbroberg3022 thank you sir! And good to know. I figured it was best to stay away from those areas if I didn’t know for sure but that completely makes sense now. As far as the bell goes. I think it’s a pro vs con when it comes to the bell. I do believe it has negative effects when it comes to bumping over pressured public land birds. However on this hunt I had some very tight holding birds. The only reason I run a bell is for instant feedback of where my dog is in thick cover. Eventually I want to transition away from the bell and run a gps collar because there are theories that the bell causes potential hearing loss over time to the dog. Good luck the rest of the season and thanks for watching!
The fact you shoot and don’t even blink is impressive😂😂😂😂
@@VicTucker lots of practice behind the scope my friend. Thanks for watching!
Wish there was more deer footage. Nice buck !!!
@@mikewendorf7030 by next season I hope to have an additional camera with zoom capability to film more deer! Thanks for watching!
Congrats on your buck! Langlade County Hunter here.
@@ypschwartzy2765 thank you! Hope you had a great season!
Any deer in your county? I hunt Onedia
Are you running a regulator on your heater or just a hose from tank to heater? Somewhere in that hose to heater needs to be a regulator whether it’s on the hose you have or going into the built in regulator on the big buddy. This is the reason most likely your issue. Do not throw away the heater.
@@ypschwartzy2765 I run the 1lb cylinders on this unit as it has a built in regulator. This is likely where my issue is. I plan on fixing it haha the garbage joke was just my inner frustration coming out 🤣thanks for the suggestion!
Congrats I seen 0 deer this season in Marquette county
@@WIgunguy thanks! And that’s a bummer man :( hope you still had a great time!
What is that a .243? Going in because it's slow after seeing 25? A Mr.Buddy out of the wind in 40 degrees? You got it made Guy!
@@kevinlange5930 it is a .223 shooting 62 grain Winchester loads. Where we hunt it’s not uncommon to see 20-30 deer in a single sit, however our range of visibility is several hundred yards in all directions. And oh yes, we hunt in comfort during gun deer season! 🤣
Nice deer dude idk what rick was on but keep posting

What’s the state land name

Legal shooting light in Wi was waaaay earlier than 647am btw..it was 626am by me in Adams co this year
@@andyzachow9903 this was filmed in Eau Claire county where you have to add 16 minutes after the time listed on the time chart. There is no same legal shooting time in the whole state of Wisconsin due to this….
Adams County has +8 minutes, so your shooting time was 6:34 on opening day.
@ thank you! I feel a lot of people don’t understand how that works…would explain a lot of the early shots prior to legal shooting time 🤣
@@scatpack7151 most people have no idea about having to add time. My best friend is a game warden here in southern wi.
I hunt here now.
Great job. You could use that for waterfowl as well
@@karlsoffthegrid1378 thanks! And absolutely, I plan to use it for geese and turkey hunting. If I could find a good pond to leave it on that would be ideal as well. Stay tuned, I’ll have a video hopefully coming out this weekend from the gun deer opener in the blind.
@ good luck this rifle season. I passed on two 8 pointers opening day on my brothers farm. I guess we’ll see if that was a mistake or not.
@karlsoffthegrid1378 I tagged out Sunday morning with a nice 8 point. I will likely get out some more to fill a doe tag yet. Good luck!
Great job on the deer blind! It's always been fun to improvise hunting and fishing ideas. I can't even remember all the blinds I have made over the years. That's a lot of fun.

@@karlsoffthegrid1378 thank you! More content to follow for sure. I have learned so much from videoing my hunts about reading my dog and the environment. I keep it real all the time and show people it’s not always about going home with a bird. Thanks for the support!
