    While Tony has narcissistic traits (arrogance, wanting to be the center of attention) I'd argue that Justin Hammer is a better example of NPD. Tony actually IS that exceptional and yeah it supports his arrogance. But Hammer is the shallow front put up by so many malignant NPDs.

    • @PsychForCinema
      @PsychForCinema หลายเดือนก่อน

      @cagal6437 I actually have an interesting take on Hammer! If you ever saw that Shield short where Hammer was in jail talking to his jail boyfriend, he was still praising Stark to the very tippy-top of his soul. The thing about his relationship with Stark was that Hammer had horrible attachment and security issues, leading him to idolize Stark at an unhealthy level. He straight up had a crush on him but not the lovie kind, more like the obsessive-stalker "I'm just like you, see??" kind. Notice how he never once insulted Stark??? Good character was truly fascinating. He was totally a narcissistic BTW lol. You're spot on.

    Did he get rid of half the animals? Cause they talk about the rising animal population in the movies. So maybe your assumption isn’t correct.

      @PsychForCinema 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MrJRSTama he actually did get rid of half the animals! The captain was referencing how the lack of human pollution was making things better for the environment. Also, the moment when the Hulk snapped everyone back, Ant-Man was staring at the window admiring a pair of birds and their reaction to seeing each other again. It also just goes to show how temporary of a "fix" it was.

    Tony stark is not a Narcissists. He had a huge ego and very arrogant yes but he's not Narcissist. Narcissist people lack empathy and care for others. But Tony Stark have empathy and care for others and this is proven in Iron Man 1 already that when he found out that his weapons were sold illegally, he stopped the production of his weapons. And no narcissist will ever be a hero and sacrifice his life to save others. Also Narcissist are created when they were spoiled too much by their parents.

    what is more crazy to me is how good the performances used to be. Nowadays, you can't do the same psychoanalysis and actually derive anything of substance. Characters are entirely superficial, and Disney Doesn't trust its audiences to make conclusions on their own so it overutilizes exposition and tells us more verbally than show us. Quite frankly, I never realized this, but I know why I enjoyed Ironman so much, and the original Avengers. You could look at Bruce Banner for example, and just by looking at his body language, his eyes, and the questions he askes (to black widow especially) tells us so much about the characters. But now, you can't do the same breakdown, not to say that audiences have got dumber, but movie directors and screenwriters have just got lazier.

    "OMG, I'm a young person! I define myself by an extremely poorly-diagnosed psychological condition; it's my identity!" Millennials and GenZs all think they have ADHD, and they see any little thing as "proof" of it. Snapping fingers and fidgeting? Wow, no one does that.

    I have for a long time tried to avoid this type of pop-sci diagnosis vids, but i watched the ADHAD ironman video, and liked it, this one on ASPD reminded me why i learned to avoid this kind of appealing white-lab-coat clinical astrology😉. I realised the reason i had liked the ADHAD video was because you're presentation hand me convinced i was the same, and now i understand why ive been soo twitchy, the last week 😂. All my life I've had a nack for (i think mirroring🤷‍♂️) I strongly copy behaviors, thy usurp my normal behaviors till it "wares off" 🥴 or i notice, or someone mentions im acting weird and im able to stop the behaviors/speaking styles/was of thinking 😅, it works extremely well for in-person sales😊 i just learned avoid the sociopathic crap🙅‍♂️😖

    The last thing the world needs is yet another random 19yr old youtuber casually armchair diagnosing and contributing to people not taking mental health seriously. Can ya'll go away already? We don't need any more of this garbage, there is already too much of this garbage. Nowadays thanks to people like you apparently EVERYONE has BPD and is a narcissist and so the real people who actually need support get ignored and dismissed because of ignorant, harmful takes like this being shoveled down everyone's throats.

    • @PsychForCinema
      @PsychForCinema 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have very valid concerns in regards to people not taking Mental Health seriously (trust me, I've seen THAT side of Tik Tok), which is why I'm adamant in producing this content. My goal is and forever will be aimed towards taking a serious and humanistic approach to Mental Health that both breaks down stereotypes and inspires understanding and empathy with a focus on REAL clinical research, like I explained here 3:56. And I get to further my education and spend time with my favorite characters along the way. My content is also, in case you missed it, just for fun. Particularly my fun. I'm disheartened to hear it's not your kind of fun, but the best part about youtube is that you can scroll! Fair warning though, the more you interact with this kind of content, the more the algorithm will suggest it to you. So maybe I'll see you around! And thank you for your insight. Truly. And I'm 21 :)

      Yes and this channel has two videos making contradictory "diagnosises" of Tony stark, as both ADHAD and a Narcissist 👀 whats next tony stark is a sociopath too😢😂

    • @PsychForCinema
      @PsychForCinema 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, @@Kzaks. ADHD and NPD fall under two separate categories of mental diagnosis and are not mutually exclusive, meaning that comorbidity is absolutely possible and they aren't contingent on one another.

    • @Kzaks
      @Kzaks 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @PsychForCinema lol, so 'yes.' Tony stark is, in fact, both a narcissist and has adhad, dose that mean you have both as well? 🤯, I mean, IMO you did strongly imply that the diagnosis you're presenting and the conclusions you are making about the character 'tony Stark' you shared with him, in contrast with the Homelander character you didn't imply you share any special similarity with.

    • @PsychForCinema
      @PsychForCinema 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, @@Kzaks. Good question, and I'm certainly comfortable sharing. I WAS actually diagnosed with NPD, along with petulant BPD. They were extremely difficult personality disorders to come to terms with and recover from. Today, I can confidently say that I am okay with my diagnosis and I'm learning to combat my symptoms with kindness. It's the biggest reason I made these videos and study psychology! I want to help people who are going through what I am and trample misconceptions along the way. People who are labeled as narcissistic are seen as combatant and and awful to be around, but what not everyone considers is that narcissists don't want to be around themselves, either. I had to learn to love being around myself to change my outlook on life and relationships for the better. The first step is compassion, which is why I'm adamant about making content like this. However, I do mantain that ADHD and all personality disorders are very separate in cause and presentation as ADHD is thought to be primarily genetic 😅

    I grade you an A+. Not long ago, I saw a reaction vid to Iron Man where the person reacting said something along the way of Tony not deserving Pepper because he couldn't remember her birthday and I pointed out in the comments that some people (like myself) were bad at remember dates or things like social security numbers, didn't mean we didn't care. I didn't even think of the fact Tony had ADHD. This was a very instructive (both about Tony and ADHD) and well crafted video. Thank you!

    • @PsychForCinema
      @PsychForCinema 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It saddens, frustrates, and generally just tears me apart when people look at me with angry disappointment because to them, not remembering or doing something important must mean that I don't care! They don't understand that it's not a willpower thing and that's literally the hardest thing about this disability. I'm really glad you found positive resemblance in this video. Thank you so much for watching and I hope you stick around!
