Just finished this gem of a show out (it's practically criminal there's not a second season and that very few groups are translating the LN - like 6 of 12 volumes have been translated and it's complete as of March 2023), but that 'holy shit' moment the first few bars of the drum line and guitar started. It's fitting because the the characters are in 2006 and Haruhi school festival episode with God Knows would have been extremely fresh in this 'Anime referencing Anime as if it's real life' troupe. As I'm still partial to Aya Hirano (Haruhi's VA), I think this cover by Aimi (Nanako's VA) does it justice. I'd have to agree with the rando nico poster that said that the lower register (the huskiness) of the voice worked really well in this cover. Aya Hirano's voice is naturally a much higher register, so the voice she did for Haruhi would have made it a bit difficult to completely acheive that here (for example, at the really high note in the song, Haruhi/Aya has a small vocal fry, while Nanako/Aimi hits it with no vocal fry)

I’m not going to lie this is the only time ever that I’ve chuckled at a boob grab scene. Normally they’re not funny but somehow it was actually funny this time as much as I don’t typically like scenes like this

見てません! -Hodaka Natsumi reminds me of a woman who was in my life briefly when I was a young, immature teenager (I was a bit of a pervert 😖). She was a beautiful woman (a model in fact) who was several years older than I was. My interactions with her actually helped me grow more mature and more comfortable around women, and she was one of the few people I knew who I felt actually understood me. I haven't seen her in four years, but I'm forever grateful for her influence in my life.
