I had some fun rewriting Sonny Boy Williamson's "Help Me" from woman's point of view. Thanks to Ted Gehrke, festival organizer, for giving me the opportunity to perform.

Scratch My Back

"Scratch My Back," a great Slim Harpo tune, at the Saloon in San Francisco, with Johnny Nitro. I'm less than stellar on the harp, but it's a great memory of a great bluesman.

www.kimaddonizio.com Blowing a little harp at the Bowery Poetry Club in NYC, April 08 thanks to Kees Wennekendonk who was visiting from Holland & took this clip.
First, this was the only freaking video lol.. I read your poems so many times, found your book in a stack by the toilet at my dad's place after I went to visit him one summer when I was 17, I would always read it when I was in there, and sometimes when I was out. I can't find now any if at all much of your work on my usual online medium, maybe in some bittersweet the nostalgia will only be worse than that time we had together in the bathroom when we were teens poetry, be happy for what you had not sad it's gone typa.. fuck that, I want more of this. I hope your well.. frown.
Came here agter seeing a reel of this being recited
I won't thumbs down it but...meh...
Is this supposed to be a caricature? I've never heard a blues artist who talks so fast and leaves so little space between her lines. These lyrics aren't the blues, they're whining, followed by a sudden and unpersuasive attempt to be raunchy.... (And I'd feel the same way about a guy delivering it.) The harmonica was more in the pocket.
A girlish rendition of a strong poem.
Amazing!
Hey, would you marry me?
What harmonica is that?
roger that
