Hi, thanks for the video! What is the temperature of the heat gun?
@@Leostr thanks for watching, I usually use the full heat 500 degrees, but it doesn't get this much of course if you move it all the time and keep the distance, maximum it gets is 70-80 degrees.

How is the leather softening oil you apply at the end ever going to soak through all that paint and clear finish with hardener? This is the main issue with aftermarket painting of leather, it isn't nearly as soft as new leather and the cost of doing this isn't far off a retrim.
It looks like you have some knowledge about it, but you can belive or not, its not first job I did, with some leather paints it wouldnt make sense to apply leather oil after, but with Geist or Colourlock paints it simply works , done it many times and it does softens the leather nicely, I usually apply oil/conditioners until the leather gets back to a decent level of softness. I used paints from different brands and yes some paints will not let the oil/conditioner to be absorbed by the leather , so I wouldn't use them on leather that is dry/hard. That's my experience. When it comes to the cost of respray by me compared to a good quality retrimmig in my area ( with real leather ) , my cost is 1/3-1/4 of price of retriming. So its customers choice whether they want new or restored leather.
👏👏👏👏nice Top quality

Looks good 🙏🏻 I’m doing my e30 convertible, with pacific blue leather upcoming summer. Why do you feed the leather after you’ve sealed it with filler, paint and topcoat? Why not feed the Leather beforehand, like, after sanding? In my humble opinion, the leather is more likely to absorb the conditioner deeper into the leather fibers.
@@xraylax the reason I am doing it after is that I would worry about proper adhesions of the new paint , overall it would be better to do it before , I am sourcing water based solution for that to use it before restoration.
@@OCDDetailing2021 Ah, that makes perfect sense. I might use 303 Aerospace protectant for that. After I use leather Honey to feed the leather. The 303 might just be enough to seal in the honey before paint. Would be great if you only have to use the 303 to keep the leather and synthetic top coat from drying out and cracking. But for now all this is still just a theory😅
@@xraylax👍
Degrease the surface with what? Couldn't hear.
Solvent cleaner for leather , you can also use isopropyl alcohol for this purpose
Amazing results. What settings are you using on the spray gun?
Cheers, settings change on the gun depending on density of the paint, all you need is light mist, so the gun needs to be adjusted each time. The gun is hvlp with 1.0 jet , about 2 bar pressure.

Not sure if you will see this. Do you rate the Makita?. Thanks.
Makita po6000 in my opinion is best gear driven polisher, I also have flex xce, had vrg before , vertool , and compare to any of them I choose Makita .
@OCDDetailing2021 Thanks for the reply. They are currently on offer at £158. I currently have the vertool 21e which I rate aswell. Ignore the 158, it was another polisher not the makita.
@@imprezaworks Vertool gear driven is not bad machine too, I had one before but I couldnt get spare brushes for it , for 158 I would get 2 straight away 😁😁
