not a fan of double car only.
Why they don't have Silverstone on calendar is beyond me. It is the W-E-C, and you don't have a race in the UK? I've heard in the past that it's the fault of those that run Silverstone or Brexit, or something else. I love seeing racing on that track, so much speed, excellent opportunities to pass, and always great racing. Is there a good reason?
I would like to see Silverstone and Nurburgring added to the calendar to make it a 10 race season.
the calendar is a surprise for me. also the 2 car rule... It could be a bit of a deterrant from manufacturers who may have been on the verge of joining, but now has to reconsider or may not even join because of the increased running costs.
The inventors of motorsports will once again turn around in their graves since instead of going back to real motorsports they are overkilling sportsprototype racing.
100 dB limit for GT3 as well
I wonder if lmdh will allow EVO packages or will manufacturers have to develop all new cars
Safety car procedures need looking at
More races would be nice but i know this is a lot of asking vs something like F1 for example
FIA is binding F2 is more important than then all racing forms the WEC should have been thought of for one canada has had been given a first chance CTMP instead of COTA and Mexico has hosted WEC only once dont you think we should run Mexico again Will sportscar ACO Le-mans think of the performance of the sportscar racing the new hydrogen era
I don’t like requiring two cars per manufacturer.
FIArari robbed Le mans Toyota got robbed again
LMP2 has been boring for spectators since it became a spec class
hell yeah two lambos!
Go back to Sebring
i wish they would do what imsa used to do and have a gte class and a gt3 class
As much as I want it back, GTE is pretty much dead. Compared to the nine different manufacturers in GT3, GTE only had four when it was discontinued. As much as I despise GT3 and how it's literally everywhere, it's likely going to keep sports car racing alive.
Really worry about Isotta, they have stated 2 entry on term of technical there no issue but run the program for another car is costly and they really need 1 more customer to run their 2nd car
Yeah that might hurt them. But from what I'm reading there are other teams interested in running the car, so if they can get one to field a second entry, they are golden. If not, they can always switch to GTP in IMSA until they are ready to make that second entry happen.
@@ceeinfiniti1389 they cant go IMSA same story as Glick and Vanwall where IMSA require 2500 production car a year so thats why it only have factory team there
Where do you get your production music?
Another rule change: LMGT3 will be limited to 100dB from 2025 onwoards wich means that fans at the track doesnt really hear those cars anymore🥲
They may as well give HYPERCAR its own races without any multiclass with the exception of Le Mans. By 2026-2027 it's looking like almost 15 manufacturers will be in the mix, that's 30 damn cars in just one class, how can you squeeze two other classes in between that. They should run lmp2 and lmgt3 together for races at that point.
Good luck for your journey to racing at Le Mans!
Needs to come to Silverstone
Video: “The changes.” Very first point: “The calendar, no changes.” 🙄😂
Just wish we had a silverstone race and ghey actualky reported on gt3 classes on the radio broadcasts instead of 80% hypercar
Great video fella. Entertaining and informative. Keep it up.
The rule to be required to enter more than one car is a bit harsh, considering teams like Vanwall, Isotta, and Glickenhaus which are more private companies/teams, dont have the funds really to run more than one car. (With the exception of Glickenhaus)
Too much complicated rules, too much heavy cars, too much safety cars, too much chicanes = boring championship. Get back to Group C and I'll come back at Spa, Le Mans, Monza, etc.
Well BoP effects about the weight of the cars.
Spec series lmp2 needs replacement. Or run as a junior class.
One gripe. The 2 car rule is only for manufacturers not teams. If teams were needing to run 2 cars a peice we’d double up Protons 963 as well which there is no space for. Lamborghini and Isotta can sell a second car to teams like Prema and Vector sport to meet that minimum 2 car per OEM requirement which already exists in LMGT3
I think that factory teams has to have 2 cars + optional customer teams. So Isotta would race with 2 cars
Not just these changes,I think ACO should also have to find some ways to make teams and manufacturers make more profits, sure the good news is that LMH/LMDh rulesets is extend to 2028/29,but even with BoP, cost will still gonna rise anyway. If they can't find a way to let the teams to make more profits, manufacturers will still gonna left the series and then WEC remains in the boom-bust cycle all over again
its 2 cars pair team or 2 cars from the same manufacture can race? i mean, take Proton for example this year was running 1 car but there where other porches, will this mean that proton wont race?
i think that privateer entry will only have enter one car
Its 2 car mininum for the Factory team.... privateer doesnt need to enter 2nd cars...
Silverstone still missing.
Why Imola it is a bad Track for Racing Monza>>> Imola
I think because of Ferrari. They have to race in Italy. Monza, from what I understand, is going through some construction/re-development.
@@dbkfrogkaty1 but they didn't add it next year calendar
lmp2 is popular said noone
maybe not as much with fans, but it's very popular with teams
This channel is great! keep em coming!
Thank you!
12h of Silverstone
I feel like the only thing they should do at least two more races like Silverstone and any other track they want
A 10 race calendar
They want to but they thinking about Team Logistics and Budget (probably because back then Some Manufacture have to skip certain event because of their budget). And about Silverstone, WEC itself want to Silverstone join to 2025 Season (but maybe because of team budget thing, they have delayed that).
@@rajakozen5678 Silverstone management only cares about F1 right now, and they wondering why no fans want to come and buy their fcking expensive tickets...
There are enough Hypercars to race at Monaco, maybe for 2 or 3 hours at max.
@@rajakozen5678Another factor is the organizers prioritizing F1 (understandably as the $$$ is far more significant) but a shame that they don’t broaden their scopes. Hoping for tracks like Sepang, maybe Nurburgring GP considering the pit infrastructure is designed to accommodate large venues with upwards of 160 cars during the N24, another previous venue like Mexico City could be great, considering where COTA is on the calendar as well it could be a good way to add a race without being too taxing on the teams and logistics side of WEC, plus with some small changes the race could be held within a week or so of the F1 weekend, if that helps with logistics on the hands of the organizers. Le Castellet I think would be a really cool track to see this era of WEC race at, although it may not seem the best idea to have two races in France when you take into account the limited events on the calendar, I think the tracks wide and open nature would work really well for WEC, also considering it’s one of the larger circuits, and passing would likely be much better compared to the narrow windier tracks like Imola. It could help having the two races in France like that for transport and logistics reasons too if they are put back to back, perhaps the ELMS race gets stacked onto it, again for logistics reasons + you have lots of teams competing in WEC also in the regional series. Some far out ones are Brands Hatch but the infrastructure at least right now is not suited to accommodate a WEC event, but the track, while I doubt the racing would be the greatest, I think it would be really entertaining. Sebring if in an ideal world they could run the WEC weekend with the IMSA weekend like they did in 2023. And to be really biased and delusional, Laguna Seca as it’s my home track, if I could get to a WEC race by car in under 2 hours I don’t think I’d care how much it’d cost. I attended the IMSA weekend in May and it was amazing. From both a fan experience as well as the racing, obviously the infrastructure would need a bit of work to comfortably fit the WEC grid, especially if they continue to expand the grid size with new manufacturers staking their interest in the regulations and end up going along with expanding some of the existing pit infrastructure such was proposed. As much as I love IMSA, the grid - especially in the GTP category feels a tad bit lacking when you compare it to the grid of WEC and the variety of cars you have there. Also a track like China-Shanghai would be lovely, long straights but twisty, long, tyre monching corners with great overtaking spots I think would provide a great spectacle of racing, plus the previous racing experience there, not with any of these cars, but the venue at least will be somewhat familiar to WEC. Spent a good like 10 minutes figuring this rant out based on a singular video and comment. jeez
They should change BoP back to the way it was in the ruglations until last year. Because its clearly a big no no to some marques all the time. It should be about performance over a lap only. But it ains directly to some cars advantages. And thats BS. Because it kills the essence of the whole "we built unique cars that are different" vibe. Also its simply unfair to some, while others clearly get favored since they entered just because they bring a lot of fans. Its becoming a show more and more. Its an epic one for sure, but if you know a little more than the regular fan, some races results really have a bitter taste and lets you think about stop watching...
BoP has no place in prototype racing at all. It's against the whole idea behind it. FIA & ACO have turned it into an artificial show aka a farce.
@@armorgeddon agreed
"LMP2 is still a popular category"?? To whom - to the entrants, no doubt. But to spectators? Endurance has to be a challenge between manufacturers, not a promotion single type category.
As regular fan who has been to 15 WEC races until now, yes the LMP2s are still awesome. Just a shame it's all Oreca but the sound is still awesome and the racing always close. Most unpredictable class at Le Mans.
Lmp2 was my favourite category just because it was a tightly packed intermediate class between LMP1/Hypercar and the GTs. They always had action and the number of experienced drives in it made for exiting races. Maybe it was because they had the same car.
the really poor tv coverage doesnt help either
I still like LMP2 but I loved it when it was multiple chassis competing
As far as I know LMP2 still is open for any LMP2 chassis manufacturer. There used to be 4 different ones competing. In the end everyone turned to Oreca. Except for one team in IMSA, which came back and competes with a Ligier. Don't know about ELMS.
Two car entry is not what I wanted. What I wanted is diversity. It's okay if only single car effort. Team could concentrate in just ONE car, & pay less driver & the money could be used elsewhere in/of car development. If WEC wants to increase the volume, do not use TWO CAR mandatory, but cost cap & fair BoP, so even privateer team could compete to the top/podium. IMSA doing better in BoP, all competitor won at least once or podiums. EDIT : Lets not forget LMP2. For me, kinda boring, with only Oreca 07 & Gibson engine. Come on, at least two or three different chassis, but keep the same engine.
It's not really correct/misleading how the two car rule is presented in the video. Privateers will still be able to run single car entries. It's only the manufacturer backed teams that require two car entries.
The 4 different chassis are still present in LMP2, it's just that the Oreca 07 is better so teams don't chose the others. There is still one Ligier LMP2 in IMSA though
