    Wish the “Bus Principle” was around when I was a kid. When I was 12 (2008) there was only one bus that would go from my school to a few streets away from my house. It wasn’t a popular bus (maybe picked up 20 kids an afternoon). Well, one day it didn’t show up. After 30 mins I made the decision to walk from my school (near Brisbane CBD), to the closest shopping centre 7km away (about a 1.5-2hr walk away). I didn’t have a mobile back then, so no one knew where I was or what had happened to me. I was able to get to the shops safe and sound, but it could have ended VERY badly very easily! Had my dad call Translink and chewed them out. The bus not showing up did occur another 4 or so times, but by that time I had received a little brick phone to be able to contact my parents.

    I lived behind their house in the 2000s. Sadly, they were broken into and the theif stole a jewellery box which contained her ashes. The town tried to do a "bring back the ashes no questions asked", we literally all turned our backs in town in the hope he would return them. I don't believe he ever did. We unknowlingly saw the offender and gave details to the police. I hope they got Deidre back. 😢

    'Human behaviour' is not a homogenous concept - it's farcical to say that the law should follow human behaviour. What is acceptable human behaviour is shaped by society, and should be shaped by law. Otherwise any caveman defense can be used for any aggressive or illegal behaviour because of human nature? Right back to 'she wore a short dress and I was aroused and its human narure for a man that is hard to have to get sex'. Honestly...

    4:48 i think Provocation is VALID .. to a point. The youth of both clouds things and the prococation clouds things. This young woman..did provoke...but, to a murderous state? That goes beyond normal... but . The person this immature person provoked was ALSO immature... But MURDER is major Without listening beyond a few minutes and not knowing the case... i think 20, 25 years minimum

    Wow that comment by Condon. Can we get a history of his activity? I feel like there must be other dodgy dealings around him. I was 16 living 5 minutes away from where Daniel went missing when it happened, and this case has always weighed heavily on the whole community. Appreciate your considered and thorough commentary, thank you.

    I think what Mr morcombe did, talking to Pdf.files, was superhuman and shpes the great love he and his family had for Daniel and the dedication he and his wife had for bringing Daniel's murderer to justice. If Rosie Batty can be aussie of the year, after taking daniel to spend time with someone she knew was unhinged and violent... where is the National recognition for the Morcombes? I may not be fully informed. I knpwntheybhave the Red Tshirt day/movement and still work tirelessly to advocate for safety for children

    If you’re doing a podcast, you don’t need to treat it like a conversation and keeping saying “yeah” “yep” “yeaaa” “gotcha” It completely ruins the flow of the discussion and she doesn’t need to know you’re listening…. It basically made it almost unwatchable for me hearing old mate in the background every half second with the most Melbourne “yeah” “yep” “mmmm” Just shut the fuck up so I can listen to her explaining the story. The tragic murder of Daniel was terrible. The family never stopped fighting and looking for their son. The community has never forgotten him. I think the sentence was inadequate for the crime. I just hope that Queensland’s government will follow in the footsteps of Victoria where especially heinous crimes flag the criminal as Never for release. 😢😢

    Reading the book about this case breaks one's heart even more as you get much more of an idea of the pure hell the Morcombes went through especially with the lengths they went through privately to get leads in the hope of finding thier precious child.

  • @auroramartini-cv3tx
    @auroramartini-cv3tx 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

    You mentioned should Australia have public S- offender register. Imo ONE MILLION PERCENT YES!!! As for the question of vigilante behaviour brought about by this, I think it would be a tiny amount of people who would be willing to go to jail for committing that act. The majority of the US has the register and they do not appear to have this issue over there. Children cannot protect themselves from these disgusting p -phles and parents deserve the right to know who lives near thier children. I think more so now with the anonymity that the internet helps hide what these monsters do. Yes, police spend a lot of time and resources doing the most valued work to catch them before anything happens BUT there are only so many police to do this invaluable work. Children are so precious and deserve THE MOST protection.
