    Elves are both corporeal and immaterial, with physical bodies and "spirit" bodies. It may not always be clear whether the elf we see is the corporeal or the immaterial form, but we can draw conclusions. If you see one in a night vision, you have inherited second sight and the elf you see or dream is in his immaterial form--and you see him as a spirit. But our spirit form is wholly other than the elf immaterial forms. Theirs is like a parallel, physical universe, but if we go to their reality, we only experience it as a dream, because our minds are created to focus on physical matter, so anything else is dream-like to our minds. However, that dream experience can be as vivid and tangible as physical reality sometimes. Always we remember to spend a few moments memorizing what happened, because our physical brains help us organize our thoughts. If your brain was not much involved in your experience in the elves' other dimension, then when you come back to your body, you must bring all your memory back with you, too, or your new memories will go on from when you left off or just before you fell asleep. But if an elf appears in front of you while you are awake, then assume he is in his corporeal form, even if you have second sight. Having spaedom can mean you can see ghosts, or it may mean you can see an elf when he is making his corporeal body invisible. It is likely a little of both. Think of it this way, when an elf is in his immaterial form, it takes work for him to show himself; then when he is in corporeal body, it takes work to hide it. But second sight makes it easier for him to show up to you if he wishes. Also, if he is minding one thing above all, he may loosen his hold on keeping himself out of sight. So for example, the lady saw an elf woman come out of a rock. The elf woman was minding getting out of the rock and calling her corporeal form to set into again. In that moment, the human lady saw her, probably because she has the sight, too. The elf woman more than likely knew she was there, so showing up at that moment was her way of greeting the human lady. Genetically, elves appear to have some percent human DNA and some other percent of what the ancients called "angel fire." I think elves may stow their physical bodies with some families who may not even know they are there, because elves can hide themselves anywhere and become invisible. I think just underneath a corner of ceiling would be a good spot to stow a form. There is reason to believe that elves were first made in very ancient times at the bottom of the Dead Sea, when it was empty, damp, and grassy. Like the ancient giants, they are associated with the forbidden Astaroth cult objects after the great flood. When five ancient kings swept down and slew and drove off the giants, the elves continued on in their mines. At some point, they found their way to the northern wilderness. When they reached as far as Norway, they ran into a lot of trouble and were outlawed. It became a capital offense to abide with them. Maybe that is when they fared off to Iceland. Maybe they have cousins on rocks among the stars? But they seem to be peaceful in the folklore now, don't they?

    One more comment, Churches used to be named after Saints, Archangels, the Exaltation of the Cross, the Dormition of Mary, etc. I never heard that a church would be named after a poet. Is it like you guys erected a church in his and his family's name?! Did you elevate him to the level of Saints? Very unusual fact for me, and this part I don't understand. The church is a work of art and architecture. However, it is very schematic, modern, and cold. It is all cold cement, there is no joy and excitement, no flowers...Your weather is depressing, cold, and clouded...

    Archangels Michael and Gabriel are the two icons on the right and on the left of the altar. Catholics had icons too in the beginning of Christianity, but to be different from the Eastern Orthodox Church, they adopted statues instead. Eastern Orthodox churches have icons, the churches are painted inside, sometimes outside too. The stained glass window represents Mary Mother of God with the baby Jesus.

    Quite amusing, especially the part with the child playing with the furry black cat. But I wish they had paid more and closer attention to the sculptures themselves. We didn't get to see them all the way around, which is how sculpture should be viewed. Thanks so much! (I also loved the start of the snow... So typical...)

    I loved this shop. Amazing knits. They will take your measurements, knit a sweater to order, and ship it to your home. As a knitter, I wanted to find patterns and yarns for my own projects. The staff was so helpful and kind. They had pattern books in English for purchase. I bought supplies to make my husband a pullover sweater, which I worked on throughout our trip. I’m hoping to get started on my cardigan this summer.

    I would love to be a part of this, but here in America it's hard. I have no lineage or blood in any Scandinavian countries, I am Cuban Italian with other things mixed in. Would I still be welcomed to this temple? I use to practice heavily two years ago, but with how America is, I am discouraged and chased off because I am not "white enough".

    • @c.a.t.732
      @c.a.t.732 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a number of Norse pagan groups in America that are "universalist" in outlook that would welcome you. Don't let the views of people like the AFA (Asatru Folk Assembly) and their "whites only" policy discourage you. Odin was called "All Father", not "Some Father".

    This is the best movie I've seen of the Westman Islands and there are many good ones. I got a very good impression of this island. On June 20, 2023, I'll arrive at this beautiful island by ship, also I'll make a little round trip there and l'm looking forward to seeing all the beautiful things live. Kærar þakkir. Thanx.
