And If I'm not mistaken they used a Pontic lyre and the bagpipe is the same as the Greek version of the bagpipe which historically did came from the Middle East if I recall what my music teacher told us in primary school correctly. Also, Greece it's an Eastern Europe nation, geographically it's in the middle and because of centuries of immigration and contact due to sea and land trade music and other form of arts and languages have been influenced and even evolved at the same time and resemble quite a lot. It's truly fascinating to research and coming from these regions.
