It is way harder to fly a drone while riding in a car than I previously believed.
Double tape. Fixes the problems
Here's what I did: the tape trick, the using a new cable trick, the tightening the Shifter resistance to the max trick, and after all that failed... when I calibrated the gears, before selecting each gear, I pushed the shifter all the way to the left and right (while in the neutral position) and then into the gear and pressed the confirm button. On each gear. It has worked correctly for two weeks now with no issues. At least 40 hrs of driving in H-pattern mode.
lol my g29 shifter does the same thing except I can switch from second to fourth 😅
Only reason I didn’t go fanatec and went VNM. I love fanatec but the amount of issues I see with this shifter is crazy.

i bet i can out drive you in your overpriced rig that i guarantee you dont have.
The issue for me is that the Hall effect magnet rubbed the back of the smaller pcb to the point where it exposed some metal. I applied electrical tap back there, stacked about 4 pieces of electrical tape over the pcb mounting holes and now there is no more rubbing. Calibrated the shifter and have been good for months.
I returned it years ago at this point. I made this video to show fanatec the issue and sent them the shifter. They literally never took it apart and just immedietly sent it back to me and said my carpet was causing a grounding issue. My computer doesnt ground through the floor it grounds through the ground on the wall plug. I got so mad i just returned it for my money back. Lesson learned.
@@DIGGER19860 yeah that’s some shitty service. I see a Fanatec rep on reddit sometimes responding to posts. I see this issue or a variant of it popping up all the time on the subreddit so I’m sure they know that there is an issue with the shifter. Unfortunately for those who don’t like to tinker, it is an issue they’re unwilling to address properly.

@@DIGGER19860 lol fair enough. I was speaking for the general public where if they were in a situation that their warranties were expired and they’re outside of the return window, they’d be shit out of luck. I was within warranty window but not return window. Didn’t want to send off my unit, wait for them to do absolutely nothing to it, and then return it to me in the same state I sent it off. As in your case, I’ve read too often that this happens. Fortunately for me, the fix has upheld for many months and I’m satisfied with the product after fixes.
@@moistikal the worst part was fanatec was constantly sending one of there employees to comment on my videos saying i made it up and faked the video. He was a german with broken english he must of commented 5ish times i finally figured out how to block him.
This is quite an easy fix. Unscrew the 4 bolts on the top of the shifter. Then disconnect the 4pin connector, and reconnect it, it should fix it sence it resets the board. This "shuffle" issue is due to static build up in the shifter, this is caused because metal on metal friction. Ive had the fanatec shifter for 3 years now, had this issue once. I hope this helped! Its an well known issue.

So my shifter is basically reading all my shifts as Reverse. I can use yhe shifter just fine in sequential mode but as soon as i try to use it in H-pattern mode it wont read any shifts. All started after i did yhe latest firmware update. You think i should try what you say still?

I sent it in to fanatec and they said there was nothing wrong with it. They are letting return it for a refund. I would get any brand but fanatec.

@@TooManyChoices1 there is no calibration to be done. Ive sent it back and it was not fixed. Also the shifter is the only fanatec part i have for my sim. Everything else is logitec
