They changed this show after 1978 it's not the same, crappy music, no cool cars, less money, less expensive prizes and no Jay Stewart and no Carol Merrell
Adrian needs a recliner.
Syndicated by Rhodes Communications, an MGM/Amazon company, in conjunction with Fremantle.
Interesting observation - the wife of one of the Big Deal contestants. She was hiding behind her husband an awful lot - 17:38 revealed why.
Any way that you could repost the episode where, at the end of the show, Monty got four bars of soap from a lady and paid her 200 dollars?
CFTO might did that game show.
10:15 Ouch
Perfect bonus this episode!
It's rare to get a perfect in this game.
Welcome back Cherry pod ASMR! Your feet look lovely, pretty and super soft.🩷🩷🩷🩷🧡🧡🧡🧡
I wonder how much the Hunts won in total in cash and prizes?
Thanks for sharing...Chuck and Nona later appeared on The New Chain Reaction premiere 8 years later (which is unsurprising, as both shows were taped in Montreal).
Didn't you already upload this episode already?
Yeah it is the same episode like you posted sorry
Hope another episode will be upload real soon to make up for this mistake. @@DuoVibeJakeJessieAnimation
I love the episode adds, but lately I’ve noticed that the end credits have the theme song removed. Why is that?
@@kgruber17 Fire the audio operator!
What's the episode number?
9:23 about as cheap as the studio lights

0:04 Let's take a moment to remember Quincy Jones.
5:21 - weeb showoff time: she meant to say “kirei”, but she accidentally said “kirai”
Glad you bought this back thanks
RIP Quincy Jones, who of course did the theme to this show (which was sadly removed in 1984-85 and replaced with a soundalike because CTV didn't want to pay royalties).
Good video bonus round Canada!
TH-cam’s new color gradient on their viewing progress bar makes me feel like I’m watching all of TH-cam off of BonusRoundCanada’s tape machine 😅
Is episode 5 missing by chance?
Actually it’s episode 3
I have this one as episode 6. Early on, there were 6 episodes with different celebrities for each taping except for the first week which had 5. Midway thru for the 1989 half, the show decided to stick with Pete, Shannon, Jimmie and John for the panel
I love this show
Definitely a game show that needed to come to America some day because that sounds like a lot of fun!
Re: the Winklers. Like on one of the recently posted Definition episodes, they likely didn't come back until this episodes because the payouts are too low to justify being on for multiple shows, or they had jobs to be at and couldn't be at CFTO Toronto to continue their run.
20:45 Hmmm, that's a screw up since it was a free guess, shouldn't have gone back to the other side
17:57 They're screaming in horror as the plant takes a dive.
6:15 - Switcher in the control room hit the wrong button
Who wrote the theme or where is this theme taken from? Id appreciate help on this if possible
They weren’t kidding about Jim working all the time!
1978 was the most recent Year of Three Popes. Paul VI died on August 6th, John Paul I was elected on August 26th, then he died suddenly 33 days later, and John Paul II was elected on October 16th. Incidentally, Canada would not receive a pastoral visit until 1984.
21:55 I like this question in the mini-dash, as I live in Thunder Bay. It would be too weird for me if I didn't know it.🙂
It's interesting seeing the open and close in a red/magenta chroma key.
Have you ever found yourself continually screaming the answer at the contestants before they solve it? Well, that's what I've been doing lately while watching this classic show. I know it's a long time ago but I can't help it. It proves that the play-along factor of this game still works.
My guess is that all five of them are Canadian. If I had to guess at the years, I would say 1973, 1977, 1970, 1974 and 1973, respectively. The theme to "Double Exposure" is "Artistry in Trumpets" by the Bob Elger Band.
when did they do that rule with canadian money?
They used play money on this show because the show taped in Canada and was syndicated on some stations in the US, including WOR NYC and WPHL Philly. WOR was airing this version in 1981-82 in reruns and in late 1982 in late nights.
$925 I thought it was an actual car back there
I like how that one dealer pulled a fast one on Monty at the end. To be fair, he didn't exactly specify what kind of nail he wanted. It reminds me of one of these that he tried offering during the original run in the States. I think it had something to do with a bottle nipple. Monty could have phrased it a little better in that case when asking for another one.😁
1:56 why are you promoting a product being used for a Summer Olympics that your country is boycotting?! And yes, Canada participated in the boycott too!
Wait a second, this is the same Luciano that was on Test Pattern!!
Jim Perry's other show Sale of the Century pays quite a fortune to a winner. Watched an episode of that show where a winner of the match won a piano worth $6000.
What's the point of the person waling though. Just seems nonsense when you can just light up the spot
Wonder what happened after Episode 10 that led to both teams not being available for the Monday show?
19:31 - they didn't use this cue all that much. It even has a key change at 20:03 that was *NEVER* heard in the 1984-1986 version.
8:26: Uh oh is right.
I think it's easier for the kid to do it when Dave does it instead of on his own.
Ah finally some new celebrities on this show...
The host just said that Margaret Hamilton played the Wicked Witch of the North in The Wizard of Oz. That is incorrect. She played the Wicked Witch of the West. Billie Burke played Glinda, the Witch of the North.
I wonder if Sidney M. Cohen ever saw "Video Village" when it aired in the early 1960s, because this show does take some inspiration from it. Of course, there were a few differences. In Video Village, two contestants competed against each other on the game board, while their partners rolled on their behalf. The sides alternated turns, unlike in Mad Dash, where control of the dice was always determined by a toss-up question. As a side note, Village had a chuck-a-luck cage with a single die inside (later replaced by an electronic randomizer which displayed numbers 1-6), while Dash had a die with the 6 replaced by a dollar sign. There were three "streets" in Village--Money Street, Bridge Street, and Magic Mile, with safe zones at the start of each street, while Dash had simply one section from START to WIN. In Village, if a player landed on the same space as their opponent, they could either take another turn or force their opponent to go back to the beginning of that particular street, while in Dash, nothing happened. To win the game in Village, the contestant had to roll the exact number to land on one of the two FINISH spaces. If they went over, their turn ended and they stayed at their last position. In Dash, if a contestant rolled over the WIN space, they had to turn around and move the remaining spaces. Also, in Village, contestants keep whatever they win regardless of the outcome, while in Dash, only the team that wins the game keeps whatever is in their bank.
