How did the those wood supports that are shown in between each of the different bookcases get attached to the bookcase? My brain doesn't understand. It looks like the wooden beam is just leaning up against the wall and the bookcase is right next to it. Also, are the bookcases somehow attached to the bottom support that is underneath it?

I commend you for what you managed to pull off. However, you gotta get a straight edge or track saw. Also, tape your cutline to reduce tear out. I think I saw white caulk lines. If that's correct, caulk after your first coat then second coat over it. Trim can get expensive. Make yourself some parallel guides to make repeatable cuts, then take that and cut your own trim pieces. Trims can be up to $6 each. a piece of 1/2 ply can yield a whole lot of trim for way less. As for ply wood, try to avoid red oak for painted furniture. You have to fill the grain and that can be a pain. If you absolutely must, mix some dap white wood filler with water. Make it like pancake batter then paint that over the plywood. Sand it smooth but don't sand it all away. That'll be super smooth after priming and painting. As for the arches, mdf would have been better. no tear out to deal with, no grain to fill and it's perfect for the office since it's not a wet area. Besides that, it's edges are easier to sand, giving you cleaner arches. Great design though and these aren't criticisms. they are things that I've learned as a fellow DIYer.

What bugs me a bit is that the middle is thinner than the other sides. The wood inside at the top arches also throw me off. But the video is great to teach others how to do a similar project !! I also like the color and the wallpaper detail on the backs
