The purpose of this flight was and aerial survey to count Humpback whales and to get a snapshot of how their migration was progressing. The trip was extremely educational for me, particularly seeing the many micro climates separated by the major points along the Central California coast.

These crabs are known to be a delicacy and there is a developing commercial fishery in California for them. This particular dancing specimen got released to crab rave another day as he was caught incidentally while targeting sablefish.

These things are considered a delicacy, we released this particular sea monster back down to the depths to continue his reign as king of the seafloor.

The secret is out about the most awesome surfing competition around and funnest weekend of the year! Although the competition itself is limited to Monterey County residents or past participants, everyone is more than welcome and invited to come enjoy the beach, the festivities and the good vibes! We just wrapped up the 41st annual 2024 Carmel Surfabout. It always feels like a marathon and is hands down the funnest weekend of the year at Carmel Beach. We have some amazing footage and want to do it justice so we're not going to rush the editing process. It's going to be good, stay tuned!

The kids have just as much fun catching the tiniest of bluegill, but these Mud Marlin sure put up a fight!

There is excellent bass fishing in most of the lakes, ponds and creeks around San Jose, plus the proximity to the ocean and San Francisco Bay gives you a lot of good fishing opportunities! You can get squid for bait along with the freshest local fish available to buy anywhere at the Sea Harvest processing plant fresh fish market on the island in Moss Landing at 7532 Sandholdt Rd.

I’m worried about the Sea Lion population continuing to increase and the effect on the fish in our West Coast rivers. I understand they are a critical part of the ecosystem and that we are all just trying to survive. There just seems to be an imbalance from my perspective but it would hard to find solutions that would actually work and that people of varying views could agree upon. Thanks for starting this thought process for me, diving into this topic is a good idea for a future video!
