This is a gem
HEY OLLIE BOY I WAS WONDERING WHAT PORT QUEEN OF OAK BAY WAS AT IN THE MAKING OF THE VIDEO
Horseshoe Bay.
HEY OLLIE BOY I WAS WONDERING WHY QUEEN CLASS FERRIES DONT BLOW THERE HORNS AS OFTEN AS COASTAL CLASS SHIPS LIKE QUEEN OF ALBERNI IF YOU CAN ANSWER PLEASE RESPOND THANK YOU
It depends on the crew. Some crews like to sound the horn, some don't. On route 2 (Horseshoe Bay - Departure Bay) and route 30 (Tsawwassen - Duke Point), sounding the horn is optional, while on route 1 (Tsawwassen - Swartz Bay), it is required for them to sound the horn twice in Active Pass.
BTW WHEN IM ON THE QUEEN OF ALBERNI CAPTAIN ALWAYS TELLS US A FACT
Boston bruins goal horn
reminds me of the coastal archimes btw can you make videos 1 or 2 times a weak ollie boy btw if you can reply to my comment i will be helpful
It's the same model of horn as the Coastal's lowest airchime horn, a KM165. I am on a ferry right now as I write this, with two horn recordings I will post later. However, I can't really promise a schedule because I post my horn videos as I record them. I don’t go on ferries enough for that!
@@ollieboy4817 thanks for posting queen of oakbay single tone horn
it’s weird i never see queen of new westminister on the duke point route since 2023
I THOUGHT THE QUEEN OF NEW WEST ONLY DID TWASSEN TO SWARTZ BAY
@@ImmanuelSmith-yv2plIt does route 30 when the Alberni breaks.
Probaly the worst horn ever (my opinion)
Wierd horns
Sounds like harmony
once i was at tswassen beach i heard the horn i was confused because i only heard old horn after some research i realized queen of new west had a new horn
It is similar to the Celebration, Inspiration, Renaissance and Expedition

This adds 3 seconds delay before the timer starts
He shoots he scores
Is it just me that feels like it looks like something has gone wrong
Both ends in this recording sound a C# Diminished chord. I believe this is how the horns are supposed to sound, but the Tsawwassen end sometimes sounds a C# Minor chord which I think sounds better.
Canucks goal horn
Sounds like the “ideal” Vancouver Canucks horn
This is one of those pull horns
Yes. I'm pretty sure this is actually both the pull lever and the button, with the first two horns starting from the pull lever and the button being pressed at the end for the third horn.
Beautiful vesseI. I rode BC Ferries for 7 years from Langsdale to Horseshoe Bay. Great trips, good crews, clan vessels and good food too.
Canucks goal horn
this horns kinda eerie to me
Canucks goal horn
KDT 123
It does sort of sound like one but it is actually a T-4A.
I didn't know spirit of Vancouver island had a kahlenberg whistle
😫😩😩😩
Wow first
Sounds like a kmj 234
sounds like an orchestra so damn amazing
Thats loud as hell lol
Why aren't the tones gradual? It's more on/off than what a pull cord should sound like..
They did mess with the pull cord when they installed the new horns, it used to split into 2 but now it splits into 3. Maybe that has something to do with it.
@@ollieboy4817 Shouldn't it have a softer start with the volume increasing as the cord is pulled down lower? With the old horns, if the cord was pulled down very slowly, the tones would gradually come in and increase in volume. Now, it seems more mechanical? Also, couldn't they install a major-sounding horn instead of a more irritating diminished chord?
My guess is they made the pull cord activate newer electronic solenoid valves instead of manually opening the valve everytime
It sounds louder up close
Sounds like the coastal’s airchimes… but pullcord!?
Where was this recorded? Departure Bay?
This was recorded from the Cowichan’s bridge departing Horseshoe Bay
Nice!
Nice! Quite the interesting mix of notes going on there.
She was made at electric river
Sidney Crosby shoots, he scores
Wow
Bravo ! Ollie. Definitely in the right place at the right time with this one.
