Rings with Kanji engravings ”beautiful”
For this video, we created a ring with a motif of Kanji characters.
The theme is "beautiful.
The Chinese character for "beauty" means "beautiful" or "clean.
Kanji characters are difficult to write on the left and right sides of a ring, so it takes a lot of skill to engrave them by hand on a ring.
The hand engraving technique, a traditional craft, makes this possible, and since each piece is engraved one by one as an original, no two are alike.
In the future, I intend to make rings with designs based on kanji (Chinese characters).
This work itself is still unfinished and a prototype.
We intend to continue trial and error until we come up with a design that we ourselves are more satisfied with.
Roy, who is editing the video, is in charge of the design this time.

Do you make your own chisels?
The chisel is not homemade. I buy from trusted sources. Have you ever used a chisel?
@@teamJ.T yes and no. A have hammered on the handles of my conventional (European) gravers and I have done quite a bit of reppousse and chasing. And I’ve spent years banging chisels for wood carving, but not chisels the are meant for engraving purposes.

@alierem4266 the Chisels are called Tagane the blanks can be bought on line blanks mean you have to shape the cutting edge to the required shape you want, but I've found it better to make my own tagane, there are many very detailed videos on TH-cam showing how to make many tagane.
