They're usually long because each vid contains multiple games, but this game was so fun I talked a lot about it! I would appreciate if you watched it, I hope you enjoy. I've been watching very few videos of people with low views lately, because TH-cam recommends them to me. I only notice after clicking they are low in views. Same with this one. Not that I'm complaining though, nice vid! Sometimes the algorithm shows pretty cool stuff, that not a lot of people know

@@boscorner Hah, your comment brings me joy too! I've not had anyone compliment my voice like that before! It's honestly really funny, other people in Britain say I have too mild of an accent and sound American despite never leaving the country. But all the foreigners I've ever spoken to go "wow your accent is so strong". I've also been told I sound posh or sound like a farmer depending on who asks. Idk man, I guess my voice is funny to everyone, and that's great! Thanks, you really brightened my day! (Especially after all the sanity points this video drained from me 😂)

@@houndoomrulz That's exactly what I was trying to say yeah!!! Either touch screen or waving a wiimote like a sword, I really thought from the title there would be SOME kind of drawing minigame to fight enemies. Instead it's just a glorified quiz, running at the worst frame rate I've ever seen in rpgmaker. I know it has sequels so I can just cross my fingers that maybe they added more active gameplay in those. God I miss the DS, it'd be so cool if we ever got a two screen console again!

Also Typing Of The Dead is genuinely a better learning tool for having extremely silly phrases. It's more entertaining and you learn a bigger variety of words! And it's gonna stick in your brain cos of the humour! That game was so damn good I also just forever cherish Goldman's terrible voice acting in the second game. "To protect the LOIFE CYCLE"

@@TheOFCMedia IDK why you're telling me this here on a video about a completely unrelated rpgmaker game? I dunno bud, just because I like one thing in rpgmaker doesn't mean I'd like them all. That's like.. idk.. "I see you are playing a Unity cooking sim! My FPS is also in Unity!" Hope this doesn't come off as too rude. I hope you find other people who'd enjoy your games I just personally don't enjoy mature comedy.

@@Frikkinfriks14 I was playing the Japanese version and it seems this code only works in that one. Instead of changing your next encounter it changes a monster in the party, so you can view their status menu. All of these crash the game instantly in battle, so you very well could have met the building and never known it, haha! There's also a few which show an unused monster name text before crashing, which seems to hint some monsters such as Mandrake Major and Drooling Ghoul were originally planned to be in the game.

As for why we do not call Japan "Nihon" ...the reason we don't call many places what they call themselves lol But in this case, it was a big game of telephone going from Japan as nihon, to China as riben (Currently written in pinyin as Rì běn), to Portugal who wrote it as cipan, somewhere along the line that somehow got twisted into Japão!

To be fair, Jaemis is probably supposed to be mixed race instead of tanned, as his siblings have darker skin. So that's two POC love interests, even if one of them is an alien. And I don't think they're stereotyping Adrian as some big aggressive sex pest, his route is about being a submissive in a BDSM relationship. So I don't believe it was likely to be an intentional bigoted choice, just an unfortunate coincidence. I'm dissappointed too cos he was my fave design 😩

@@houndoomrulz No it's okay, I understand what you mean. I just wanted to add the extra context that the other character has dark skinned siblings. It is still a shame that they chose the lightest skintone to be the dateable family member, but his design is just overall very generic lol. And don't worry, I also understand that either way, intentional or unintentional, stuff can still be equally crap. 😅 I just wanted to make sure it was clear that even though I hated a hell of a lot about the game, I never got the impression it was bigoted, just.. clumsy. In other words: big agree, I'm dissappointed too! Thanks for the comment, buddy!

THE INITIAL PISS GATE

Words cannot express how terrified I am to hear that this qualifies as an Actual Video Game, and there are things somehow Even Worse

Yeah it's SUPER impressive how they turned this engine into an entire different genre!!! If the developer ever made tutorials on how to do this, that'd be awesome! It's just such a shame the actual romance wasn't as interesting to me.

Oh wow I never knew that!! I somehow didn't piece it together that the OrangeSystem plugins were for this game, even though I'd seen them before. The iceberg grows!!! And I'd definitely be happy if this video encouraged more people to use this neat sprite pack. I bought it myself while making the video! She's made lots of other sprite packs on her site so I'd definitely say give the link in the description a check and see if any of those would be helpful for your projects.

YES EXACTLY OMG It sucks how much I liked it for the first ten minutes and then Never Again. It's wild that such a promising game could be wrecked entirely by Bad Tutorials... And YESSSS Orange Season is soooo cool! It's impressive that the previous version still had so many of these interesting features even back when it was RPGmaker, but definitely it'd probably be easier to program them in unity. I'm waiting til the game gets more updates before I continue my playthrough, and also cos I got distracted playing Sun Haven haha. Gameplaywise it's far more clunky but the fact it lets you be a monster is SO GOOD!!! Definitely wins for the MOST character customisation of any farming game I've ever tried

EXACTLY LOL!!! It bugs me so much that the art is SO GOOD but only in like.. half of the game. And it's so good in five separate ways, I have no clue who the fuck is talking half the time. If they'd just settled for one style and made the Vitally Important Overworld the same style, it would really make a world of improvement! Or at the very least, go for a different premade asset pack style cos hoooo bot default RTP is as far as physically possible from this style, lol Oh yeah I might just be missing common romance genre tropes cos I don't read that stuff 😅 But this never once registered as this trope to me, cos they give absolutely NO hints that he'd change for The One, or he has a soft spot or just.... Anything. Really is just a whole chapter of him sucking ass and then abruptly changes at the end so the lady is validated for believing he was good despite All Of The Signs Saying No. And then she hates his clingy lovey dovey self anyway and it's all "haha comedy! This whole chapter was pointless!" Bleh... I absolutely agree I wanna rescue the characters from this game!! It's such a baffling failure because all of the people and even the premise itself all sound awesome and then the execution ruins every last shred of good. I didn't particularly dislike Riho here though, she seemed oblivious but not actually mean? Does she get worse in later chapters? At this point I was more despising the boss guy cos srsly wtf "I'm gonna trick Kanta into framing himself for sex crimes" why is that the first place your brain went... Kanta especially is my biggest fave and deserves to be rescued into an au where all his friends actually appreciate him :(

@@Bunni89 My comment on Riho is more based on what was shown in your gameplay, since she didn't get mentioned much in the post-commentary. But her essentially forcing Sakura into a situation that Sakura was clearly uncomfortable in was the wrong thing to do, but it's a flaw that can be worked with by a good storywriter yanno? (Unlike Genji's personality which just straight-up needs fixing)

@@houndoomrulz Yeah exactly my feeling! I disliked the situation that was happening but it didn't register as Riho being a meanie, just her not knowing what she's doing is rude. Genji I was much more pissed off at because it was presented as some big genius plan he absolutely did on purpose. I was expecting Riho would get character development tbh, if she doesn't then that's a huge wasted potential

Oh sorry I realized I think I was assuming your comment came from a place of having played more of the game than I did, but if I'm reading this right youve only seen what's in my vid? Then yeah to clarify, the reason no further stuff is mentioned about Riho in the post commentary is because she Never Does A Thing Again. It really stood out to me as weird that she never got character development, I assumed maybe it was being saved for the sequel chapters. And GOD DAMN I would hope Genji gets better too! And they all appreciate Kanta more!!! And Meg can just continue being rad in the background haha But I had such a completely unfun time that I can't be arsed to play the whole series just to find out if it gets less unfun. Might watch an LP from someone else if I ever get curious!

@@Bunni89 Happy to! I used to use VectorMagic a lot for upscaling, and I even tried to upscale one of my squishy chibis in Illustrator once (it didn't go well lol)

It's a pretty niche spell. It sounds op the moment you hear about it but in practice it's usually not worth the mana.

@@nybethobdilord6912 Yeah cos most if not all bosses seem to be immune to it and not many random battles last long enough for a timed move like this. I looked more into it on the wiki and it sounds pretty rubbish here but is apparently better in the other games.
