Setting Up the Walls of a Yurt Style House Spencers-Mountain Off-Grid
@SpencersMountain We are finally setting up the walls be built last year. Two piles of eighteen walls are set up on the floor and made ready for the roof. A lot of work has been done towards the construction of this Yurt style house and our DIY skills are put to the test as a stack up of small mistakes could result in a big problem. The build camp has been run almost totally on solar power this year.

@SpencersMountain we are building the trusses for our 18-Side House. Not something everyone can or should do. Trusses are complicated structures and require proper engineering, materials and assembly. This roof will be self-supporting when complete and excessive in strength to resist weather on the Mountain. I think mine will cut up to 28" log with 8" depth 22' bed can cut up t about 18' long log, has 14hp gas engine!
@@mikewilliams2072 that is a pretty versatile capacity. Cutting big logs sounds fun until you have to move the log. The mill quickly becomes the cheap machine vs the moving equipment costs. A phone calculator app show a 28” diameter log of pine 10’ long will weight over 2000 pounds. Same log in oak will go over 3000 pounds.
I like what you have done here great engineering and precision!!!! I have built 2 of these bandsaw mills which work on the same principle but simpler engineering which give same results! I used a small rubber mallet to tap the dowels in for the hinges. I have a new 445 saw and I purchased this box for it. Very thorough installation video. I have a better idea what to do when I install my Williams direct vent wall furnace. I had a vertical style, Williams direct vent heater that lasted 30 years. It worked great. I then tried an unvented Rinni heater. It heated well and didn't generate measurable CO. However, it requires electricity to run. The internal thermostat is too sensitive. Finally, it generates water vapor so you must also run a dehumidifier. The vented Rinnai heater costs over $2,000 and I suspect it would also have too sensitive thermostat. It would also require electricity. So I decided to get a new Williams heater, which worked well for years. They are less efficient though, at 66% versus 80% for the venter Rinnai and 99.9% for the unvented Rinnai.
Superb presentation. Thank you!

I like the 2 wheel dolly lift with thin unistrut. What size sealed bearings did you use. Most bearings are listed in mm. Thx for your quick response.
The bearings are 1/2 “ ID. OD fit inside of Unistrut with just a little spare room (sorry, don’t know OD but slightly smaller than Unistrut will give you a dimension). Metric can work if sized for your Unistrut.
