I can't find the official information for May 27th, but bracket racing is a daytime event. I think the gates usually open at 7 or 7:30 AM, racing around 8 or 8:30 AM. Definitely need to be there early if you plan on racing.

Yes a naturally aspirated 2JZ. Hopefully my tanks will pass certification and I can have them filled soon, because this thing sure is slow. It is still Sonoma Raceway (Sears Point) but there have been some changes. For some reason they demolished the tower, I don't really understand why. Unfortunately Sacramento Raceway is gone forever, crooked real estate developers and politicians made sure of that.

Unfortunately our Sacramento drag strip is closing at the end of this year. We still have Sonoma raceway which is actually much closer to me, 1/2 hour vs 2 hours each way to Sacramento. I think today is the 2nd to last Wednesday night race there ever. We are scheduled to race next week at Sonoma so I will miss the final race in Sacramento. Might be another bracket race at Sacramento before the end of the year, weather permitting.

@@sonofthehill1320 It's a difficult time for motorsport, in France it's a bit the same. We only have one drag strip in our country and we pray every years that the authorities,green peoples and politicians don't shut up permently. And yet , drag racing 'runs' are a kind of road safety, it allows the young guy to come and have fun without taking the risk of racing on the road...

I think the land has become too valuable and it used to be in the middle of nowhere. Now condos are being built closer and closer, they want the tax revenue from a bunch of condos, not a little antiquated race track. It's sad, next year they will probably be complaining about all the street racing and wondering why all the sudden.

I understand, but I don't like launch control, just can't seem to get used to it. Too many decades of driving old clunkers.

Yes I picked up a used EFR turbo and one of the fancy cast manifolds from your side of the pond. The power is on much sooner now, I actually have to hold it back a little so I don't go quicker than 11.50. That's the limit for my car without a cage, bell housing shield, etc...

Something like that, on a bracket race. But on Wednesday night, I like to run the local manual transmission class "Gear jammers." On Wednesday night only "Comp rod" and "Jackpot" maybe time only can run faster than 11.50

Thanks! I was a little worried about my quick tune on the ID 1050x injectors, but I had it close enough.

This was on the old motor and it has been a long time since I was on a dyno. I would guess about 325 ponies at the wheel when I ran this. My last dyno was about 235 or something but I was only running high 13's then if I remember correctly.

So you almost understood correctly. That race we could choose to pay for a chance to win 1/2 of the charity money. Whoever won got 1/2 of the money and the other 1/2 to charity. Sometimes we have a "buy back.". On Sunday if you lost the 1st elimination round, you could buy back to race other losers. The winner of the buy back gets to move on to the 2nd round. Hopefully that makes sense. You understand my language better than I understand yours.

Yes, I am running a type 2 torsen diff. I have a 3.6 in the car now and last year it was a 3.9.

I think I changed too many things between seasons. It is nice to stay in 5th instead of shifting to 6th right before the finish line. Man, Sacramento was slippery today, I will post the video in the next few days.

Both the mustang and the fury in elimination were close races. In fact we made the close finishes list with the mustang, I won by 5 inches. During elimination if both drivers cut perfect lights and run their dial-in numbers exactly, they will cross the finish line at the same time. It doesn't matter which car is faster.

Maybe it wasn't that close, seemed close. It is difficult to judge with such a difference in speed.

I actually made it to the final round in the truck last night, came in 2nd. Hopefully I won't be racing the truck next time.
