Hello! My name is Kasey and I love to travel, for now this is more of a diary.
You HAVE to go to this island if you in Hiroshima!
This island has a lot of history and is super popular but it's super worth it.

I have watched your video. Beautiful, peaceful and amazing . I love your presentation
Thank you so much! That's very kind of you to say! I'm so happy to hear you like it :D
Yes, I agree.,too. It is so calm, peaceful ocean.
Definitely one of my favorite places in Japan so far! It's lovely.
I'd love to go to Japan one day
You should try! Visiting is very worth it!
@kaseytravels i would if I had the means ^_^
Miyajima is where Marylene Monroe & her husband (Joe dimagio) had visited for their honeymoon.
I had no idea! They chose a great spot!

Interesting... when you mentioned it was a one hour boat ride, I was thinking you'll be pleasently surprised to find out it's only about 15 minutes. Been in Hiro for many years, just assumed you were taking the local train (even those electric lines running through the city go to Miyajima) to the final stop which is Miyajima-guchi for a few hundred yen, then ferry for another few hundred yen (making it the faster and cheaper option since you were wondering). Never realized that the boat you took was an option. The deer... yes. I was worried for your onigiri when you set it down. I once saw a deer decimate the packaging of a woman's box of cookies, that were no doubt inteded to be a gift. She had to fight for it.
That's great to know! Maybe I should add that into the video so everyone else can take the cheaper option! It was my first time there so I didn't know, and I didn't do any research lol. The deer so aggressive! Def be careful of those deer, I learned quickly. That must have been funny to see :D Thank you for this info though! That's very helpful!
What really stood out for you about Hiroshima? Was it just the sense it wasn't as full of international tourists?
Less people in general for one! Like, it feels weird to say but it felt so much more peaceful then most other places I've been. I think it also didn't feel made for tourism like Kyoto and Tokyo sometimes seem.

Wow! I was actually there too -in Kyoto, ringing in 2024! My girlfriend from Japan and I waited through midnight, and in pouring rain, to get inside Nanzen-ji Temple. Was planning to propose 💍 to her during the festival but the relentless rain just zapped any energy I had for it. But I ultimately did so before we left Kyoto. Fast forward to the summer and we were married at Tokyo Minato 🗼just steps from Zozo-ji Temple.
Wow! That's so cool! The rain was no fun, but congratulations! I'm glad you got another chance to propose! Zozo-ji temple is such a nice location! I hope it was amazing!
It's getting really cringe for westerners to go to Japan🥴
What a nice video! I appreciate how you capture the moments of wandering randomly 😂
Thank you! I always hope to find stuff for the people that actually plan things ☺ so they don't waste as much time as I do 😂
Hi Kasey, are you visiting Japan in the last September 2024? I wonder if the weather there is cold enough for early autumn.....nice video btw :)
I actually live in Japan right now! Honestly, September was still too hot 😥 Now that it's October it"s finally cooling off! Thank you for watching!
amg I saw a Jiji backpack in the Ghibli store. I don't know precisely why, but I really love Kiki's Delivery Service goods now. Very cute.
I also love Kiki's now that I'm older, I hope the backpack is still here when you come back!
I really would like to do Kyoto during cherry blossoms again. I don't know why but that specifically is just something I really want to do again. When I come back to Japan I am going to ignore the fact that I've figured out I really should be gluten free and eat awesome noodle and tempura dishes. That restaurant's aura seemed awesome up the stairs.
I need to plan to go somewhere for cherry blossoms this year.... but that sounds fun! Maybe the gluten here isn't as bad, yeah I think it's no problem here don"t worry 🙃 Hopefully it'll be ok! The restaurant up the stairs was so nice!!
@@kaseytravels honestly the issue I have with light gluten consumption is mood stability and my mood was pretty good in Japan soooooooo (eating a lot I do have clear digestive problems though lol)
@@KikiAelita ooohhh ok not stomach issues then, then you'll definitely be ok!
None of this looks fun… i don’t understand, too many people, confusing transportation, people are not exactly excited about tourists etc….
Honestly, what I did this day I can agree with you to an extent. I definitely recommend wandering off the beaten path. This day I did make the mistake of trying the popular tourist things, but I did sort of say that in the video!
Wait they still have those Index Billboards?? Woahh😮❤❤❤
I'm not sure how often things get changed! But I'm sure its not too often, when did you visit?
@@kaseytravels 😂 never! It's just that the anime is old and it was a surprise to see those billboards 😂
Lately I've been really interested in visiting more art stores. It makes no sense because I have no more room for supplies and I do mostly digital art (or sewing, which is a different sort of art store). But seeing all the carefully organized, varied tools is exciting. It makes me want to do art.
I looovvveee the carefully organized variety of tools, it always makes me want to buy so much but yeah, you need space to put it all for sure.
Wow, Akihabara is very anime XD
It is! But I also think it's a little too aimed at tourists for me, but I was a tourist so what can I really say
What if we wrestled under Tokyo Tower. UwU *finger pokes*
uww it would be a magical experience
It threw me so hard that the height of fall colors when I was in Tokyo was in DECEMBER lol.
Right??? It's especially crazy since where I'm from the trees are bare by the end of November. Crazy
Tokyo is very travel friendly also to people who go there alone, right? You can also do so many great one-day-trips from there!
It is! There are so many things to do and it's very safe!
@@kaseytravels Absolutely! I was living in Tokyo for two years and now I live in Shizuoka, where it's more rural and now so crowded. Japan is super safe :)
@@kiraku_ni Shizuoka is so nice! I really liked it when I visited! Japan is very lovely :)

Deer in Nara Park are wild and are a national protected species. We hope you will treat them with respect😊
Of course! I hope everyone who visits the park respect the dear. They are very interesting animals.
How much time did you spend there, is like a morning enough?
I spent the whole day there but I think one morning could be enough! I think an entire day out there is much better, especially if you to visit more of the shrines and temples around the area.
I think it really depends on how much you actually want to see there... If you just want to go and see the deer and main areas, temples and shrines then you can make due with just half a day, but the park is rather big and there are paths that take you pretty deep into the forests. I spent pretty much a whole day there as I just kinda wandered around blindly and ended up going deep into the woods... Which honestly I'd say was worth it since there were hardly any people around and it was just a serene and refreshing experience. Then I made my way out of the park and just randomly stumbled onto the Shin-Yakushi-ji temple which was pretty cool, not that much to look at admittedly, but the main hall with the buddha and the 12 heavenly generals surrounding him was worth the small entrance fee imo...
@@Kriss_941 I agree with this! If you have time to wander that's great, if not 1/2 a day is enough :D
Shikanoku noku noku Koshitan-tan!
I have yet to start that anime lol

It's so bizarre to watch videos of Japan and be familiar with some of the locations. Like .. I can see in my mind what would be there put of frame! Thank you for continuing to post!
It's also fun to be like "hehe i've been there" , or at least i think it is! Thanks for watching :D

Having visited Japan myself ..I can say..for me..just taking a trip on the Yamanote Line is a delight...I loved the ambiance of Japan..so just being there was a treat in itself...Such a change from the grey misery of Scotland.
Japans ambiance is great! I hope you had a great time in Japan!
@@kaseytravels My depression did take it's toll at times (lost my partner to cancer in 2017)...And I know I should/could have done more than I did (lack of confidence solo travel)..But Japan was a breath of fresh air...I traveled as far south (Jan 2023) as Kagoshima...then back via Kumamoto, Hiroshima, Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo (starting in Tokyo also)...I had traveled to Japan to see my favoutire band LIVE...I returned to see them again in late Nov.
@Bodneyblue I am Japanese. Please come to Japan again and again. I recommend April when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.😊
@@mrgattacanejo I truly hope I can...I have an odd feeling of nostalgia...for a life I never had in Japan.

Wow, such a beautiful place. I'm glad you're having so much fun ^_^

This bike trip sounds so much fun
I almost died, but it was fun!!
Thank you for the informative video :)
Thank you for watching!
This was fun to watch, I'm glad that you had fun and the little frog was so cute
I did! I want to hike up it again!
Thanks for the mini trip again!
No problem! It was very mini this time :'(
Lol, I accidentally climbed to the top when I went. I thought I was just walking to somewhere behind it but then 20 minutes later it became apparent that the trail led SOMEWHERE... 30 minutes later it was definitely, definitely up. I was there in 4" heel sandals. Went all the way to the top. Bahaha.
It's easy to do! I just wanted to keep exploring so it was good fun! Oh gosh, I can't imagine doing it in 4" heels though!
Right? The exploring is great. I also wish I could understand who each individual shrine area is for.
@@KikiAelita It's the best part of traveling! Me too! I wish I knew what a lot of it was lol
Love the tour! I should try muting you and see if I can follow along with just the subtitles at speed. I want to go to that Kiki's Delivery Service mock up bahaha. I just found a copy of the book translated into English in a book store a month ago. It's super different from the movie but the inspiration/broad strokes is also really clear.
Thanks! Oh I'm not super confident with the subtitles, there are probably a ton of mistakes! The Kiki's was right next to the station so definitely go if you get the chance!
Anysways enjoy Japan,Kasey!
I will! thank you!
Excited to see more of Japan!
Looking forward to getting my doses of Japan. Had a rough day at work; now I'll fantasize about how obviously I would never have a rough day at work in another country with limited language ability and very different mainstream values for how education should be done to my own LOL and should 100% move to Japan also
Glad I can provide! I hope work gets better for you! It's not so bad here :D Yeah yeah come to Japan!
This was awesome Kasey, thanks for sharing! My only complaint was that I wanted longer to look at some of the sites haha. So cool dude!
Thank you! Oh don't worry, those are all snippets of videos I'll be releasing! I definitely want to go more in-depth of the places I've been so far.
