If those have little spines on the stems I have grown those in the past. The stems grew very long.
They do, I cant wait to see how big they grow. My daughters picked them, "because they look like miniature Christmas trees"
@@nature_secret_vault_za When mine were a few years old (they get HUGE) they sprouted stems with little white flowers. You will love it.
love your channel
@@Teas.Louise thank you very much 😊
Mine took a beating. I never got a chance to put up frost protection
@@mukediva84 so sorry, the cold is rough that side, hopefully its over after this cold front
Great video! Thanks for sharing! Happy gardening!
Another useful tip👌🏽
Love your videos. You are going into your winter time? Been super hot, starting early, where I am and it's been quite hard on the plants. North of the equator here.
Thanks very much for watching the channel. Yes we are in the thick of winter this side, frost and all. Goodluck with the heat, maybe consider using shade covers
@@nature_secret_vault_za We have lots of trees! Thank you!
No self seeding in Canada. I wish it would! I have to harvest seeds and replant.
@@robbisworldlywhims the autoplanting would be lovely, but replanting is also good to choose your perfect location.
Your squash looks perfect. No blemishes. How did you manage to keep the pumpkin flies away?
@FarmishMakoti thank you ☺️ luckily I didn't have many last season, I guess mother nature gave me more aphids and powdery mildew
Thank you for a very informative video.

Marigolds are edible. I see a good salad mix.
@@LG-universe Uuuh, that's a great idea, I'll try it out with the other ones that I'm sure will pop up soon ❤💚
I felt the marigold's pain when you pulled those petals. 😂 only joking thanks for a very educational video.
@@tonyedward6909 I can imagine tiny voices trying to negotiate.. "Wait wait wait a minute" 😂😂
My issue in our new place is Earwigs. Took a while to figure them out because they come out of the soil at night. You can trap them in tightly rolled newspapers and apply diatomaceous dust on the soil surface. They are very destructive. And ugly.
@@Teas.Louise They seem dreadful, thank you for that tip, should I get them this side, with their scary backsides 💚❤
lol @ squats only :) Thanks or the great info!
😆😆 you're welcome 💚❤
Was that neem oil or ming oil?
@@Teas.Louise Neem oil 💚❤
Love all your videos. Your squash videos are very helpful.

Very nice🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you 💚❤
I’m going off grid… this is perfect! Thanks!
That's so awesome, and this would be a nice addition for you to manage food scraps.
Great tips!
@@OfftoShambala thank you, we learn by doing 💚💚
lol… I wish my marigolds would do that! I love plants that reseed… just let them grow and all you gotta do is pull the ones you don’t want… and fill in with the others… but, it’s good to know if you absolutely don’t want this. I have a hard time with marigolds… so… this would make me very happy!
That actually would be a nice auto-planting technique. You can get the soil right then let the seeds do their thing. I'm sure when you go to your off-grid location, they will bloom like never before 💚❤
Yeah. I want nice flowers to reseed! 🙂👍
Thanks for sharing, Zandi! I left some of my marigold plants and I can see that they are taking over a portion of my garden. This is helpful!
glad to share Rueben, these pretty flowers can really spread those tiny seeds everywhere.

Hi Zandi, thanks for sharing, Very interesting approach!
You're Welcome Rueben, 1 more trick for when you run out of seedling trays
😂
😂😂😂Can't keep it together 💃🏽💃🏽
Wow you are a genius. I'm definitely trying this method!!
Try it, it definitely works, I also want to try other materials because the seedling trays break up so easily, plus they dry up quick
I'm here for the hat 😁. Very informative I didn't know the relationship between ants n aphids
The stolen hat 🤣🤣 trying to keep the sun away. Yep aphids are besties with the ants
Great butternut harvest. Thanks for the tips for winter garden. You did a great job. I need to remove all the dying summer plants but I've separation anxiety 😅.
🤣🤣Leave the anxiety mngani, winter is almost here. Plus you'll get yourself a free gym with all the physical labor 🙈
@nature_secret_vault_za You motivated me I'll try this weekend.
Hi Zandi! Great video! Nice harvest, your butternut harvest is amazing! I think it was a good idea to remove the roots of the grass roots because they can be aggressive and takeover your garden. Thanks for sharing!
Pleasure Rueben, I still want to try that variety of butternut you grew 😊. The grass seeds are a little better this time around during the first year it was so bad I was weeding every other day, but slowly Im getting rid of them
Great video! Eish , aphids is one of my main pest problems. I used my hose to spray the aphids with water off my broccoli leafs. Will try this remedy in the future.
it really worked for me, aphids are annoying.
Thanks for watching. I hope you're inspired to start gardening wherever you are, whatever your living arrangements. ❤💚
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Nice idea, i need this, sometimes i don't have a place to put my bokashi after the fermentation process. I think this approach can assist me! Thanks for sharing!
Yes, it really helps building up your own compost
So fresh 😍
💃🏽💃🏽
👍
I have also used a small twig (toothpick, etc) placed along the stem of the plant vertically which helps prevent the cut worms from wrapping around the plant stem. I’m guessing it worked because I didn’t lose any seedlings.
That's awesome, definitely a great idea, cut worms can be annoying.
What I've been waiting for
🤣🤣it makes me feel so professional
