Paper Mario 64 is in my top 3 games of all time, but I just don’t understand why so many people want Paper Mario in Smash. Every important Mario character has already been in the game, including multiple versions of Mario. And even then there are still better choices. Makes bo sense to me at all.

I have a few critiques regarding the roster: - No Bayonetta: Given that Bayonetta has basically become a Nintendo franchise, it would be surprising that she would be removed from the roster. - Sol Badguy but no Ryu: It feels odd to include another fighting game representative like Sol Badguy while excluding Ryu. - Lack of new Nintendo franchises beyond Ring Fit Adventure: The series featuring Ayumi Tachibana, a character considered for Melee, recently received a new game and is confirmed to have more in development. Additionally, Isaac was a highly requested character for the base roster of Ultimate and received numerous spirits in the game. Retro characters like Excitebike, Mach Rider, Balloon Fighter, and Takamaru have also been popular choices among fans. Including just one of these six characters could make the roster a lot better imo. - Lack of Square Enix representation: I feel like that Nintendo would at least manage to bring Cloud back for the next Smash game, especially since Square Enix appears to be more open to allowing stuff in Smash compered to the Smash 4 days.

My overall thoughts on the newcomers: Waluigi: Pretty good Birdo: A fun surprise pick Paper Mario: No way! King Bob-Omb would be so much better Impa: A new Zelda character? I'm down with that! Skull Kid: Oh yeah. That would be awesome Saraledge: It looks pretty cool design wise New Pokemon in general: I'd say cool but who knows what the next gen of Pokemon will be Bandana Waddle Dee: YES!!!!!!!!! New Fire Emblem Lord: No comment because it's not specific New Xenoblade character: Doesn't matter who it is, it's not that exciting Sylux: I mean he would be cool, but Raven Beak from Dread would be even cooler Octoling AKA Agent 8: Perfect 2nd rep for Splatoon Ring Fit Trainee: Sure. Why not? Shadow: Honestly, a good pick Crash Bandicoot: Oh god yes! He should have gotten into Ultimate instead of Steve Rayman: His amiibo would be super weird, but still. Too many Mario characters: 1. Daisy should just be a “deluxe skin” for Peach with unique effects & voicelines (they need to up their skin game) 2. Nobody likes playing Bowser Jr. just add the Koopalings to the background and/or hazard of a Mario stage, and to Bowser’s victory screen or smthn 3. Birdo is an L pick, it would work best as a “deluxe” skin for Yoshi Besides that: 1. Pokemon trainer > Charizard 2. Nobody likes playing Lucario despite his popularity 3. Starfox is a dead series that never had much popularity, but the characters are iconic in Smash so Idk 4. Isabelle should be a Deluxe skin for Villager. Her moveset is worse anyway, except for the hook Zelda might need new reps, but it mostly needs redesigns: 1. More BOTW & TOTK for Link 2. Anything but Captain Falcon clone for Ganon 3. Zelda is almost a lost cause 😂 4. More Toonish Toon Link
