This was the best simple Explanation of this I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a lot haha. It confirmed my understanding of this subject is correct which is good! I have to argue the toss with so many producers and artists who do not understand how this work. And it is confusing tbf. But yea man it’s refreshing to see someone who gets it and can explain well so that hopefully others will understand. The two biggest mistakes I see is artists giving away 50% of their distrokid splits to the producer and the producer thinking they are entitled to this 50% because they both just think that splits covers all the royalties and the made the song together 50-50. I’ve had producers literally go mental when I’ve told them they shouldn’t really get more than 5% ish. It’s madness.

I'm really loving Cymatics and LoopMasters, right now, there loops have given Me inspiration alot lately. I like to build My own elements off of a 3rd party sample, for example I might find a guitar loop and then I put My original piano, strings ontop and then make a beat out of that.

I appreciate this video, very interesting, I have heard alot of this but always difficult for Me to get My head around.

Do we write the terms of agreement, how can you make the terms of agreement official/legal? Can you and would it be a great ideal to register your loops before sending them to other producers?

I’ve only just found that there is a list on BeatStars that has the Email addresses of everyone who’s downloaded my music from BeatStars & Voloco. How would you utilise this list to make sales?

Can you do a vid on master splits as a loop maker who owns what on the master split Royaltys? Second question if I use a loop from a loop pack that says 50 50 split Royaltys, but use only only a small part of a loop like a one shot vs the whole thing do I still owe the loop maker 50%?

More beat breakdowns please, its interesting, was that vocal part of the beaat its self? I tend to have a big Cinematic chorus, with strings then go simple for the verse where the rappers supposed to rap. I am testing My beats with Accapellas making sure to dip out the middle frequencys where vocal range usually sits.

I thought branding was also about having a good logo, thats why I spent hours and weeks back in 2010 making My logo, and about 50 different versions, and animations. Turns out that might of been a waste of time, as a simple image of Me probably would of worked.

From my side I can only add that not every feedback should be listened to equally because everyone has their own taste: The most important feedback always comes from professionals, experienced people, or at least sensitive people. Listening to too much feedback from random people and adjusting to it will make you lost. On the other hand, you have to be very careful not to become an asshole by rejecting it completely. ;)

Your business strategy involves allot, marketing, reaching out to artist, and submitting to stock music librarys. Do you include Beatstars as a stock music site?

99% of every DAW's stock plugins are amazing. Knowing what I know about compression and EQs, I couldn't have purchased so many. I use Cubase, Bitwig and in the past Logic. ALL of their stock plugins are better than a lot of 3rd party ones, and many are unique to the DAW that you can never find a proper equivalent to. I came from the world of tape and hardware so it was hard for me to grasp mixing in the box. But now I do not have a hard time grasping that at all. If you did the math on how many hardware processor and FX units you'd need for an average mix these days, it would be way above 100,000. So yeah, yay DAWs and yay stock plugins!
