So many Corvettes👀I had no idea!...and I really miss the second gen F bodies, they all got used up.
Man I miss these cars.
Thank you ..was during my era...70s to late 80s..
Just wanna say thank u 2 the person who uploaded this I haven't seen race cars like this since I was a small kid some of my most early memories r being with my dad at my local dirt track in toccoa Georgia my dad has passed but I can still remember what it was like and me sitting behind the really big steering wheel that was in his 68 Camero it was a beautiful blue with the letter 7a I'm crying cause all these memories have just flooded my mind I wish he was still here so we could watch this video again thank you for the video
Duvall 💪🏼
Iowa oldies race car mid 90s
Looking for iowa driver and there mid 70s race cars
Very nice!
That was when racing was still fun
sorry..........cant do the SCREAMING music? later amigo
Better with no music.
Nice to see the old Ed Sanger 95..Gary Webb 56..Curt Hansons 9...those were the good old days..i was probably about 5(1978) when dad started taking me n my 3 step brothers to Dubuque fairgrounds almost every sunday and occaisionally to Farley..on fair race nights back then, the drivers would give kids rides around the track a couple times..the first couple years my dad made me go with my older brother in the car he chose..i remember riding with Ed Sanger and Greg Kastli..i was about 7 when i got to ride without my brother n pick my own driver..Gary Webb made a fan out of me for life lol..he actuall got on it in the corner just enough to get the car angled to slide a little,to experience a taste of what its like.. remember being scrunched under the roof sitting up on the deck hugging the roll bar..that blue and yellow 56 could actually b the car..i even got to go to the yankee before hawkey downs changed to asphalt..i remember seeing Billy Moyer in that old black 21 thats in the pic..i still love seeing latemodels n going to dirt races..they're a different kind of exciting these days, but nothing compares to the old school cara and races, for sure!
Thank you for sharing.
Shout out from a 50 year old man that had a dad that raced these kind of cars at 311 Speedway in Madison, North Carolina in the late 70s and early 80s. He and his partner turne a Ford Falcon into a tricked out, useless spoiler overridden car. Good times! Thank you for posting!
What was his name we ran at 311 /rainbow/Southern speedway and caraway when it was dirt
Those were my late models growing up. some of them..man!!! how outlandishly ridiculous some of those set ups were; wings, plexiglass all around, huge spoilers. theyll do anything to get that edge to win. The 70s late models were better, those were true late models. sat down low. very wide rear tires and almost a bicycle size left front on Novas, Chevelles, Chevy II's, Vegas, sometimes a corvette here and there.
Love these pics.back before they were called late models they called them super modifieds
Old school is the best I miss those days!, good job!
Great pics of days gone by. Really miss them.
the camaro was the trick in late model racing back then because of the leaf springs plus they had a front suspension that had great geometry. i ran a camaro for 10 years. won a lot of races.
Wish l could find one to restore
A few of those are from cedar lake in Wisconsin Tom Nesbitt Egersdorf brothers Terry Lefner Fegers brothers
Bet that camaro with the Sprint Car Wing was begging for horsepower
Back when life was so much better than the shithole the POLITICIANS and Hollywood have made this country
I saw Seaford Delaware track too
Somemof these look like Eastbay raceway, I think I recognize some cars.
engines sound much better
Joe Robinson from Carolina speedway(NC). Won over 100 races with a blue #27 camaro. He was almost “too clean” of a driver.
Because you just might get it all...
Bob senneker Mike Eddy Winchester Speedway in Indiana collecting beer cans under the bleachers that was the good old days
Great slide show, I grew up on asphalt racing in the 60's and 70's ( because that's what the local track was) , love the old school racers! Thanks for sharing.
The old school, before the wedge cars were the coolest.
Oh yeah back when the car you bought on the showroom had the balls to race. Show me a late model today, they don't exist. You can use a glorified name and call them super late models, they still have no resemblance to any late model you can buy on the showroom.
They're called super stocks in my area and they're just like older late models. Just more modernized but they still ressemble a showroom car.
No there's no tornadovits sunny and u are in a car wash so heah
These are early 1980s. The end of metal bodies. Replaced by plastic panels that are easy to replace. Homemade cars ended with the use of race car chassis built for this purpose. I remember well as my uncle raced late model stock cars at this time.
In western NY, we used to call these, "Super Stocks" before they evolved into Late Models
0:24 dayum that rear lip lmao Bosozoku fellas may be into something
This is what I remember when my first brother in law took me to the dirt track in about 84 or so...now the dam modified street class look like hobby or 9to1 cars.
Where's the knocked part? i did see the hit part and then how she shook it off in a smooth way.
Great video and I love the music I'm going home !! Is an excellent choice. Thanks Brian
engines sound much better
was camaro a mandatory body style or something for late models?
I don't think so, but it had the correct wheelbase & the SBC engine had best support for parts & good oval track engine.
@@buckyteel4129 leaf springs
1973 through 1993, why is the time I was going to see the late models and what a rush!! Jimmy bickerstaff Glenn gault, Tommy Jarrett, Bob wearing, Dave Hoffman. These guys could run with anybody in the country in their division
Thank you!! Brought back some GREAT memories.
Back in the Camaro Days! I will share it on my site facebook.com/Luvracin1com-1750909278548301/?eid=ARAWf6jp_eiT_jh_43v7VPFFX1_Mr4tADGF0lxh5zWHuWJiGCcRnQTUMym-pID9v0nJ_NNqLRrevriea Goose Luvs Racin.
COOL !!!
Great vid awful music
What! No Brewster Baker!
sledrelics I almost forgotten about old Brewster Baker aka Kenny Rogers... I loved that movie as a kid.(6 pack). He ran #49 Camaro, I might just go and look that up and see if it's available to watch on u tube
@@forwarddrive4066 One of my all time favorite movies. Don't forget about stroker ace(Burt Reynolds) or greased lightning (Richard Pryor) The best.
I plan on actually replicating the sixpack car I have a good bit of it already I have a rolling chassis and I'm going to be putting the Vintage spindles on it tomorrow
That would be super cool!!
@@forwarddrive4066 I was a kid when that movie came out. Hardees fast food chain had a promo going on, and were giving 1/64 scale die cast "6 pack" car truck and trailer! I LOVED that movie.
Love the old school hand lettering, before the artistic sign painters were replaced by sticker slappers! Fun slide show to watch! Thanks!
Anybody remember Joe Meriden? Drove a 67 mustang? Badass driver.. #M22 on the doors
Allup Enyaface I don't recall the name but anyone who was brave enough to run a Ford against all those Camaros must have been a man of high self confidence & highly skilled as a racer.
wheelie
From '87 to about '92 I used to build Corvette aluminum bodies for a figure 8 team I was working with. The style after the "coke bottle" shaped cars. We took second place in the Track Comp. Class at Detroit's AutoRama custom car show. One of the biggest in the country. Then we won in Toledo, Ohio. Then topped the year off with a track championship.
