dropped a bait right amongst a school of bronze whalers, hooked up straight away.
There was bugger all swell there. Very simple crossing. Don’t be an idiot and you couldn’t possibly go wrong

Great action shots ! Interesting how he cruised up off the bottom to take the bait. Seems the rest of the whalers weren't bothered by the hook-up or tried to chase the hooked shark.
The trick is to stay just behind the wave and let it clear the way for you.
Where abouts was it in Narooma? Near bar, or surf beach?
And that's how it's done......sitting on back of wave!

Some of those people with boats at Haulover could learn from this. There's a lot of difference between a man who has a boat and a boatman.
Haulover has a much shorter swell period meaning less distance between peaks and troughs but these Seppo's sure could learn a lot from us Aussies.
