4A032 Military Standard Engine

The 4A032 was developed for the Department of Defense for use as a general-purpose power plant on generators, compressors, hoists, pumps, and other field-operated equipment. The design is flat-four, air-cooled, overhead valves, with later models featuring an electronic ignition.

What horsepower are these engines?
Not sure on horse power but they are a 16ci 2 cylinder 4 stroke if I had to guess I'd say around 10-15hp
@@duttoncarbis6650This ones 32ci 4 cylinder 6 HP. But it's a conservative minimum output.
They are rated 6 HP @ 3,600 rpm. The engine is likely rated for continuous operational horsepower rather than peak gross horsepower being a military engine. I bet it makes a lot more power but I wouldn’t know much. Someone should dyno these old military grade engines.
@@Omegadoomship military engines are rated more honestly. This may actually be comparable to a 10hp engine you can buy from Honda. I bought a 3hp chinese diesel engine that did the same work as a 5.5hp Honda on the farm.

a very nice 4 cylinder engine, it's a shame you only allowed it to run on 1, sometimes 2 cylinders on most of this video. do you really enjoy cleaning extremely expensive spark plugs?
@@tripplefives1402 the spark plugs are not generic or easily available new.
