@@BruInsSniPeR I spray them with (1) coat then after the flooring is installed or after most trades are completed I apply (1) final coat with brush a wini roller.

@@BruInsSniPeR GREAT QUESTION! MAYBE TRY USING A 208-212 GRACO FFLP TIP (GREEN) WITH THE (BLUE) GUARD. HONESTLY I GET RUNS ON THE TOP CORNER DOOR FRAMES ON ABOUT 10% OF THE FRAMES I PAINT. I FIX IT THEN AND THERE, IF NOT I SAND THE RUN ONCE DRIED, WITH 220 GRIT RIGHT BEFORE THE FINAL COAT USUALLY WITH A BRUSH AND WINI ROLLER. THEY USUALLY HAVE BEEN SCRATCHED HERE AND THERE BY OTHER TRADES BY THE END OF THE PROJECT.

I’ll be trying different methods at first to see which one works best to acquire the best look and minimize runs. Hearing you get runs every now and then eases my mind bc I thought I was butchering them

@@BruInsSniPeR You will find your method that works best for you, but i feel that if you worry about your quality of work that just means you want to turn over a quality finish on your project. keep up the GREAT work.

If you have a spec manual, go to the table of contents, look for Division 09. You should see interior and exterior painting, it should be 09 xx xx or 09xxxx. Ctrl + f, type in the number for whatever paint type you want to look at. Hit enter until you get to the area that has 09xxxx at the top, read through that whole section, but the important part will be in section 3 where they tell you by substrate what paints are specced for that substrate.

For this particular material (BLOCK FILLER) GRACO RAC 5, 627 OR 629 is what I would recommend, you also need to make sure you airless can push this material.

Block filler is a material that is used for prepping of cinder block before applying your (2) coats of exterior paint. You can purchase from Sherwin Williams PrepRite Block filler in (5) gallon pails at least here where I reside. Use a sheepskin 1in 1/2 nap roller cover and apply heavy don't be afraid to apply the material then spread out. If doing with roller (2) heavy coats is best in my opinion. Then for your (2) coats of finish paint you can apply (2) coats of Sherwin Williams A100. Or Just about any latex Exterior product you would like to apply. Any other question let me know. Don't try to run Block filler through a DIY airless sprayer either.

Using a Set of Blueprints to do a takeoff (measure) the structure. Are you looking for a class to learn? What area do you reside ?

If that is the only thing being painted on the project. I would do a takeoff on the structure to get my material quantity. For labor, I would go crew rate based on how many days the foreman or PM thinks it will take. So 2 people 5 days, for example ( idk how big that structure is or access or anything about the project). Then for equipment, I would price out whatever equipment I thought I needed for however many days the crew is there. After that travel costs ( if any), throw in $200 for admin and estimating time on small projects because it basically takes minimum 1 hour to get all your paint submittal done etc. And you don't have a lot of square footage to hide that cost in. Then travel costs ( if any) Multiplier for OH. Multiplier for P.

You are totally correct. We have dust mask in our Purdy tool storage box. I couldn’t force him enough to put it on! The Safety Vest he has no choice. We have to wear the vest in order to enter the school where there are students so he has to wear the vest.
