Lily Alone was really something … top tier for me though
The Chocolate Box Girls are my favourite book series from her ❤ Lovely video!
Kiss was my fav
Please please please read: The hetty feather series (especially 2nd and 4th x) Lily alone They are my personal favourite and I think you will enjoy them :)
Love lessons was interesting
I like Cliffhanger. I felt like I could relate to Tim with struggling with the activities while everyone else didn't, except that he hated them, while I would have loved it despite struggling more than everyone else.
Super late to this video but oh the NOSTALGIA! I almost resent that I know the majority of the JW boks I read were from my school library so I've got no idea now which ones I actually read and which ones I've just seen the covers for. I didn't read the girls books but I remember watching the tv show and loving it, and I remember Midnight, The Illustrated Mum and My Sister Jodie being my favourites with Candyfloss and Jackie Daydream being close behind. I've had Dear Frankie on my tbr for ages now too, maybe this video is my sign to read it 😊
LOVE LESSONS WAS THE BEST IDGAF
Kiss absolutely slaps!
omg prefer the books to the film is Cam has a husband in the show as she is confirmed gay in the books!
OMG I love this woman so much. I started reading her books from when I was like 9 & I haven't put them down ever since. I struggle to find another author with such passionate stories & she has something special about every book. There's certain ones like sleepovers, the longest whale song, & The diamind girls which I will never get rid of because they're the 1st ones I ever read. but what about rent a bridesmaid in the ranking?
Lola rose was probably my favourite but i remember finding it very intense/dark, I also really have a soft spot for the illustrated mum because of the realistic and sensitive perception of star and dol living with a parent with mental illness xx
I've recently reread Girls in Love, and seven was definitely NOT old enough to read about the seventeen-year-old predator that dates really young girls and then dumps them as soon as he's had them once and even ditching one poor girl who got pregnant. Then there's other stuff like Greg calling the girls "lezzies" because he was annoyed that Magda wouldn't take him back.. I didn't even know what that meant, considering I was seven myself when I first learned the word lesbian. Also, I have to ask - are you into musical theatre? I couldn't help seeing the Six and Waitress posters. I really want to see Six, but it has to be West End because it just doesn't translate to Broadway. They try to Americanize it. I don't know much about Waitress, but it sounded fun. I just saw the movie musical of Mean Girls, and my feelings about the movie itself notwithstanding, I loved most of the songs. In fact, I ordered some stickers for my water bottle with quotes like "I expect to run the world in shoes I cannot walk in" and "Sometimes what's meant to break you makes you brave". I sort of still want "Dresses and cake, and singing and dancing and cake" or "A party that ends with somebody's head on a spike".
Double act
I love your channel❤
my favrioutes are 100% Roxy, Hailey and Wilson(tho he was only in it for 2 episodes)
Happy I found this channel :)
Hey hi do you have instragram?
I feel like you judged Love Lessons a little too harshly. It's not framed as a good or healthy relationship and it's a pretty accurate depiction of what happens in this kind of situation.
I vividly remember being read Ronald Dahl when I was a child by my mum. In particular she read me Matilda over and over again
here to find a comfort gift for my friend but from the comments I fear this will hit too close to home for me 😭
I like secret garden. It's my favourite
i liked lola rose but the ending felt a bit bland, the start was great and the middle was good i guess
I read a lot of Jacqueline Wilson when I a child and I am from Ireland. My favourite Jacqueline Wilson books are Hetty Feather (series), Best Friends, The Suitcase Kid and Double Act.
This video is awesome. This has so much nostalgia. I still read Jacqueline Wilson's books. My favourite Jacqueline Wilson books are the Hetty Feather series due to the historical setting as I love history and I study history at university, The Suitcase Kid as this was the first ever Jacqueline Wilson book I had read, Double Act as I really liked the story in this book and Best Friends as this book is very memorable to me and was one of the first Jacqueline Wilson books I read. I also really liked reading this books because I felt that I related to many of the characters in terms of finding it difficult to make friends and with my experience of having been bullied in primary school. Another Jacqueline Wilson book that I enjoyed was Video Rose which was about a girl called Rose who loved to watch videos. The one reason I really enjoyed this book is because I like to watch DVDS.

Alice is one of my favs 😍😍 I don't get why no one rates her
Reading the second book right now.. It's so good
Very much enjoyed watching this back 🥰
So much fun! Thanks for sharing! 💛
Hi
💕💕💕💕
HOORAY FOR NEW BOOKS 💛💛💛
YES SALTWATER! I loved that so much too and it really deserves the kind of hype that Sally Rooney gets as it really captures that millennial meandering feeling! I'm so glad you're enjoying it (also because I think I may have got you it off your wishlist for your birthday last year..? But my memory is shite lol so don't hold me to that!!) <3
Sometimes I forget to read more from an author after I've loved a book from them 🤣 so I should probably go through my reads and do something like this!
I wish Love lessons had gone on for a bit more like this. After being expelled, Prue runs away with Rax, they hide for a while, Prue us happy at first but becomes less so, becomes more lonely and misses her mum and sister and Rax starts displaying some abusive and controlling behaviour. Meanwhile, the police are looking for them, they find them in the end, Rax is arrested and Prue is taken home. Meanwhile the mum finally stands up to the dad, and he later dies, thr mum inherits the business, turns it into a bakery, it's really successful and they get much more money, and Prue, Grace and her mum live happily ever after. (Also is the school in the Girls in love series ever mentioned cos I'd love it if Prue ends up going to Ellie's school and they meet, bond over their shared love of art and become friends).
I always wonder when I should class an author as a favourite because like I generally fall in love with authors far too easily :P I havent read ANY of these authors yet so thank you for bringing them onto my radar
💛💛💛
Every time you said Jaqueline Woodson I had to do a double take cause I thought you said Jaqueline Wilson instead, sounded like you were saying "I've never read a Jaqueline Wilson book before" and I was like, hang on a bloody minute 😂
Hey
💖💖💖
You really do not need to do research into Greek myth to read silence of the girls, I promise you! If you have read Song of Achilles, you know the story. I hope that helps! (confession; I didn't like song of the girls, so I haven't read the second one, but it covers the same story as Achilles so you really do not need to know more than what you learned in Achilles!)
I loved The Thursday Murder Club, I'm excited to see your thoughts If you fancy a The Appeal buddy read let me know 👀
I absolutely adored The Thursday Murder Club. One of my favourite mystery novels of all time. I really enjoyed The Appeal too. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on them ☺
I’m so excited to get to them both! Glad to hear you enjoyed them! 🖤
I really love The Bastard of Istanbul. Want to pick up Island of Missing Trees when I reach zero TBR
I just finished the Island of Missing Trees and loved it! I’m so excited for the Bastard of Istanbul!
@@Carys good to know! Hope Bastard of Istanbul won't disappoint
The island of missing trees is SUPER pretty! Rainbow milk sounds really interesting. I just posted a book haul too 💖
I just finished the Island of Missing Trees and really enjoyed it! Ooh I’ll check out your hall 🖤
Nice little haul there, Carys 😁
Thanks Liam!
Cecily looks and sounds so interesting, have added it to my tbr 👍 with history/myth based stories, I do a bit of light research (Wikipedia kinda level!) to get a rough idea of the main players and who is who but doing too much of a deep dive can give spoilers. I love Circe (I actually prefer it of the two) and I hope you enjoy all of these! 💛
Aah I hope you like it! That’s so useful, thanks Victoria, I think I’ll do a little bit of research before going into them. I’m so excited for Circe!!
Definitely think a little Wars of the Roses research will be good before getting into Cecily- this focuses on the build up and the first phase of the war and finishes around 1461 but there are some great podcast episodes on the full thing which are really informative 😊
Ooh okay, I will do a bit of research before going into it then! I’ll definitely look into a podcast!
