Look the only good thing about platinum is you can dash whenever whenever you want. I tested gold and platinum. And platinum I love how I can just dash in my city and plus if your in LA you can see the busy places as if being gold you gotta travel to other cities if they outside of your own

I agree...I seen before the tips were higher by the customer. Now the tip pool is gone. Drivers are keeping those. Had a 600 order $20 tip twice one was 11 miles the other 2 miles. Both 6 bags worth food.

Yeah, it's a horrible scam to keep a lot of drivers on the road to keep their deliveries going out. I gave up on it because DD doesn't pay enough per mile and 9/10 customers don't tip and expect you to double dash for them for free. Nope... For what you are doing, you should be making triple what you get paid to compensate for gas and miles on your car. They rely on the drivers that keep holding on to hope that one day it's going to get better, then you get trash order after trash order with no tip for days on end at the oh-so-great "Platinum" Status. People no more care about tipping drivers than to fly to the moon and I end up paying to drive some of these orders out to these bum garbage human beings. Nope... got better things to do and am way too smart to keep doing this dumb shit. I expect to get paid for services rendered and do not work for free... because everything DoorDash pays pretty much goes right back into your gas tank. It's a racket for Door Dash and they are using drivers in the worst way... Naa, I'll just rely on my day job.

I realized that if you accept long distance orders and low pay the algorithm will keep sending that kind of offer . It thinks you will do it so they offer that to you first .

I think it’s good. There’s always going to be someone in the world that it’s just never enough. It’s all about them, and unfortunately.. that’s not how the world works. It’s good for what it is, but it cannot be good throughout the entirety of your shift 24/7/365. That’s just unrealistic if you ask me. If you have been getting a dollar per mile for the past hour or two.. why are we crying about having to decline a 4 dollar 6 mile offer? The past 2 hours have paid, so just decline, and keep it moving. That’s how I see it, but I’m a simple man, and I live a pretty peaceful and simple life.

Bro you live in a garbage area…it’s doesn’t matter if you’re Platinum or not. Location, Location, Location, Location… Now when you have platinum in the tri-state area (my market is NJ close to NYC) even the non-status driver get bangers because there are sooo many restaurants it’s insane.

Doordash only says you get priority for higher paying offers with silver, gold, or platinum status. Nowhere does it say the trash offers go away if you're in one of those tiers.

I recently dropped platinum to multi-app/cherry-pick. Early on in the Platinum program I would get those lovely 20-40 dollar catering orders, but I think when everyone got their AR up it was kinda pointless. I kept getting hit with those bogus $1 per mile orders or the $10 shop and delivers for 20+ items. I had to choose between Shop and Delivers or platinum, so I went with shop and delivers just so I could get those really good late night 1-4 item orders at walgreens for 10 bucks. Seems like a better deal than the once a month catering orders where I gotta take every terrible order to get.

I've done three so far. They're not bad at all.

I live in Chattanooga, TN and I have Door Dashed off and on for two years. I usually average about 15 Active hours per week earning about $300.00. I have been Platinum status a great deal of the time since the Platinum program came out. I think and believe it is a deceptive program and the only benefit I received is the ability to "Dash Now" instead of having to schedule or sit in my car waiting for the "Dash Now" message to pop up. I mostly Dash by the hour. And I believe that Platinum is used by Door Dash to dump all the trash and long distance orders onto the Platinum dasher using fear as a tactic to keep their Acceptance Rate up so as not to lose the Platinum status which means losing the Dash now ability. I usually do a three hour shift in the evening, for example: 5 to 9 PM. And I might earn $50 to $60 dollars, but sometimes it is only $30. I am not impressed with Platinum, and no, you do not get the top priority high paying orders. Door Dash still dumps the trash orders on me constantly. I am talking about $5.00 and drive twelve miles. Or they try to trick me with an order: $17.00 and drive eighteen miles. But then when I look closer, I see that it is actually two orders and two different customers, and so I decline. And before I know it, I am teetering back around 70% acceptance rate. Platinum is a deception and has not worked for me. I usually take the first three orders on Dash by time, and then if they are trash and no tip orders, I switch to Dash per offer. And then the orders get even worse. It is a waste of time and frustration for me. I believe "Tony" the door dash CEO is an individual with zero integrity. To be foolish enough to believe that Dashers are stupid enough to accept a $5.00 order and then drive 12 miles is insane. For Door Dash to continue with this strategy shows zero growth and empathy towards its drivers. Door Dash is only concerned about making money for itself, the company, and paying you and me the driver, the least amount possible.

Smart move, in cases like these I'd only take only if I know there's some restaurants near or in the drop off spot. That's where UberEats, Grubhub have bailed me out. Drop off location is so important.

Platinum is full of shit

Sometimes I tip a smaller amount until I get my stuff. Then I tip the rest 🤷🏻‍♀️ especially if it’s an inconvenient time.

Sadly the management can control this, but most won't. I was told by a csm that they barred two individuals and apparently the rest got scared because they have all disappeared 😅

It's turning into a scam, where thousands of dashers will end up doing deliveries for DD for free because they are chasing their PL status. It's clear as day what's going on.

Beware. The store will set you up if you threaten their pets illegal operations. They protect them. Treat legally operating drivers like the enemy. Happened to me on the 6th. Total trash.
