2023 Tecmo NFL Season, Week 7 Game of the Week - Chargers vs. Chiefs
The New York Giants finally won a game!!! Just like the suspended season last year, the Giants beat a divisional opponent (Washington) for their 1st win. So, the Giants are 2-17 over the past 2 seasons, LMAO. The Steelers have won 4 straight after starting the season 1-3. Baltimore has lost their last 2 games. I think that Week 11's game of the week should be Ravens vs. Steelers instead of Colts vs. Jets. What would Week 10's GOTW had been if there were no technical issues? 🤔
It's independent stat time! Quarterbacks Jared Goff (DET): 13/22, 314 yards, 6 TD Jordan Love (GB): 10/18, 329 yards, TD, 2 Int Running Backs Jahmyr Gibbs (DET): 11 att., 105 yards, lost fumble David Montgomery (DET): 8 att., 74 yards, 1 catch, 7 yards, TD Josh Jacobs (GB): 13 att., 65 yards, 3 TD, 1 catch, 8 yards Wide Receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown (DET): 4 catches, 94 yards, 2 TD Jamison Williams (DET): 5 catches, 176 yards, 2 TD Romeo Doubs (GB): 4 catches, 164 yards Jayden Reed (GB): 3 catches, 102 yards, TD Christian Watson (GB): 2 catches, 55 yards Tight Ends Samuel LaPorta (DET): 3 catches, 37 yards, TD Luke Musgrave (GB): Defenses Detroit Lions: 5 sacks, 31 yards, 2 turnover Green Bay Packers: 1 sack, 13 yards, 1 turnover And yet, the final score screen told me that Romeo Doubs had five catches. Is there a catch I'm crediting to another receiver that actually went to Doubs?
It looks like Detroit could go undefeated or have at least 13, 14, or maybe 15 wins. The turning point of this game was Green Bay's missed FG that would've put them up by 10 points. Great game otherwise.
The Steelers are making a comeback. Winners of 3 straight games. In their 4 wins, Russell Wilson has thrown 6 INTs. In their 3 losses, Wilson has thrown 10 INTs. The Eagles beating the previously undefeated Bengals was a surprise. Also, the 49ers losing to the Cowboys was a shock as well.
The Chargers dominated in the 2nd half. Outscoring the Saints, 35-3, after being down 13-3.
You put out a new video, I'm making more independent stats Quarterbacks Justin Herbert (LAC): 10/17, 239 yards, 2 TD, 1 att., 34 yards Derek Carr (NO): 16/33, 337 yards, TD, lost fumble Running Backs J.K. The AFC North is the best division 'cuz every team is at or above .500. The Steelers shouldn't have a hard time against the Giants.

Can't wait for the Battle of Ohio, Part 1 between the undefeated Bengals and Browns. The Steelers have to keep pace by stacking wins. Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Cleveland are bound to lose at some point.
I've got some independent stats. Quarterbacks Dak Prescott (DAL): 11/30, 225 yards, 2 TD, 2 Int, 1 att., 6 yards Sam Howell (WAS): 16/26, 451 yards, 5 TD, Int, 2 att., 22 yards Running Backs Tony Pollard (DAL): 16 att., 108 yards, 2 catches, 4 yards Brian Robinson (WAS): 18 att., 107 yards, 2 TD, 2 catches, 28 yards Wide Receivers Brandin Cooks (DAL): 2 catches, 70 yards Michael Gallup (DAL): 2 catches, 18 yards CeeDee Lamb (DAL): 4 catches, 123 yards, 2 TD Dyami Brown (WAS): 1 catch, 21 yards Jahan Dotson (WAS): 5 catches, 187 yards, 2 TD Terry McLaurin (WAS): 7 catches, 199 yards, 3 TD Tight Ends Jake Ferguson (DAL): 1 catch, 10 yards Logan Thomas (WAS): 1 catch, 16 yards Defenses Dallas Cowboys: 1 turnover Washington Commanders: 2 sacks, 16 yards, 2 turnovers

In the AFC North, Baltimore, Cleveland, and Cincinnati are all 3-0 in this stimulation.
I thought I had already typed in the independent stats for this game, but they had disappeared by the time I came back. Oh well, here's attempt #2 at independent stats Quarterbacks Bryce Young (CAR) - 10/28, 295 yards, INT Kirk Cousins (MIN) - 17/32, 351 yards, 2 TD, INT, 1 att., 10 yards Running Backs Raheem Blackshear (CAR) - 9 att., 46 yards, TD, 1 catch, -2 yards, lost fumble Chuba Hubbard (CAR) - 6 att., 41 yards C.J. Time for some independent stats. I'm going to do this for all of your games of the week. Quarterbacks Jared Goff (DET) - 17/22, 468 yards, 4 TD, 1 att., 2 yards Patrick Mahomes (KC) - 16/23, 454 yards, TD, 2 Int, 4 att., 42 yards Running Backs David Montgomery (DET) - 10 att., 43 yards, 2 TD, 1 catch, 9 yards Jahmyr Gibbs (DET) - 5 att., 19 yards, TD, 3 catches, 48 yards, 2 TD Isiah Pacheco (KC) - 14 att., 71 yards, 2 TD Wide Recievers Amon-Ra St. Brown (DET) - 5 catches, 152 yards Josh Reynolds (DET) - 6 catches, 190 yards, TD Skyy Moore (KC) - 3 catches, 40 yards Kadarius Toney (KC) - 7 catches, 248 yards, TD Marquez Valdez-Scantling (KC) - 2 catches, 97 yards, lost fumble Tight Ends Brock Wright (DET) - 2 catch, 69 yards, TD Travis Kelce (KC) - 4 catches, 69 yards, lost fumble Perhaps the offenses are too overpowered in this game.
Let's get some independent stats Quarterbacks Lamar Jackson (BAL) - 14/17, 354 yards, 5 TD , 8 att., 98 yards, TD Patrick Mahomes (KC) - 16/23, 284 yards, TD, 2 Int, 3 att., 19 yards Running Backs Derrick Henry (BAL) - 13 att., 123 yards, TD, 1 catch, 13 yards, lost fumble Isiah Pacheco (KC) - 14 att., 118 yards, TD, 2 catches, 7 yards Wide Recievers Zay Flowers (BAL) - 4 catches, 97 yards, 2 TD Rashod Bateman (BAL) - 2 catches 71 yards, TD Rashee Rice (KC) - 4 catches, 48 yards Marquise Brown (KC) - 6 catches, 175 yards Xavier Worthy (KC) - Tight Ends Mark Andrews (BAL) - 7 catches, 128 yards, 2TD Isiah Likely (BAL) - 1 catch, 9 yards Travis Kelce (KC) - 4 catches, 72 yards, TD I don't know why the passing stats don't quite line up.
Do you use eight minute quarters because they produce the most realistic rushing and passing yard numbers?
(Out of character: Kinda. It's moreso to give more potential for highlights during the Tecmo Rewind segments, especially because of how fast the clock ticks down in Tecmo. 8 minute quarters in this game is about the same in time as 5 minutes in something like Madden)
D.J. Reader had a huge game for the Lions. Detroit bounced back after Baker Mayfield's throw INT on the opening drive in the 1st quarter. I assume this version of Tecmo Super Bowl came out when the NFL still had a 16-game season (No Week 3).
(Out of character: Yes, that's correct. The 32-team Tecmo ROM that SBlueman's ROM is based on skips over Week 3 and adjusts the season schedule accordingly if there are any divisional games played in that week, like the Patriots-Jets and Rams-49ers games happening this week)
Wow, perfect prediction! Bucs beat the Redskins by 17, and Evans has 2 TDs and Godwin has 1 TD - just like in real life.
Most of these games were interesting. The entire AFC North won. While the entire NFC East lost. Going back to last season's stimulation, the Steelers have won 9 straight games.
In the rematch the Steelers destroyed the Browns, 63-10.
I hope that everything works out according (Technology-Wise) this season. I was getting into SVGN's coverage last season until the technology issues that you had ended the season. When you were talking about teams that had 3-peated in the past from the NBA, NHL, and MLB. The Montreal Canadiens also won 4 straight Stanley Cups from 1976-79. The New York Yankees actually won 5 straight World Series from 1949-53. It will be a challenge for the Chiefs to 3-peat. But, I hope they can do it.
I hate that they changed my teams name... sad day
The Steelers have won 8 straight games!!! Giants, Bears, and Cardinals are eliminated from postseason play.
The Cowboys are in freefall right now. They had a 14-0 lead against the Giants before giving up that lead and losing. I feel that Washington and Philadelphia are going to be on Dallas' heels in the remainer of the season.
First of all, you must be a child-beating New Yorker (either that or watching a grownup beat a child is something you like to watch), Dallas crushed New York twice by a combined score of 89-17. Get your facts right. Philly took the win on a comeback, and since Philly own the best record in the NFL, it's acceptable. As far as the Commanders, did you even watch the game? That was a 45-10 beating. "Nipping at the heels". What a loser.
Hey chevleclair, I don't usually break character here, but goo03boy is referring to the simulated season, and not the real world NFL season. In the real world, yes the Eagles own the best record in the NFL. But in the simulation, they are currently in third with a sub-.500 record, but still hot on the heels of the Cowboys and Commanders.
The Lions didn't play well at all. Green Bay earned this victory. Congrats, Packers!
I listen to this in the background while crafting.
The Steelers have won 7 straight!!! I can't to see the Steelers-Bengals recap. The playoff picture in both conferences are very tight. Since there are only 2 wild-card spots instead of 3 in each conference, I have a feeling that a 10 win team is going to be left out of the playoffs. Happy Thanksgiving!
Dallas blowing a 34-14 lead versus Carolina. PATHETIC!
