It is always a joy to celebrate members of our congregation’s birthdays, happy birthday to Isabella and Amelia, and especially congratulations to Amelia for her reading today, what a joy it is to have one of our youngest members step up and read the lesson and doing it so well, here’s looking forward to Amelia reading again for us.
Last week we attended St James in Louth whilst on a tour of north east Lincolnshire including Cleethorpes. We enjoyed the service, but despite it being a grander church, our lovely little St Peter’s and its congregation holds its own. Glad to be back with my friends.
It was wonderful to feel part of the service. i was only able to see the early part because of another appointment--but how fantastic it was to watch again in the evening. Joyce was a very special person I got to know via Mothers' Union and lots more! I have been so happy to see St Peter's Church and to see Steve our vicar again! Super music and lovely bible readings. Thank you so much for asking me, Janice. Love to all from me in Leighton Buzzard. Gwynneth Roy
Lovely service this morning, but must remember not to sit in the aisle with the organ pipes as I can’t hear the choir and so my singing didn’t quite match everyone else’s lol😂 I also loved communion at the high altar, as it gives a brief while standing in the choir and getting the majesty of their voices direct, enchanting. Looking forward to tonight, and just hope that Jon & Linda are not worn out and falling asleep.
One day Jon I’ll tell my similar survival stories, but sadly whilst I survived them, there was no outside rescue. Similar things repeated until I understood life was about being on my own two feet. This set a path of independence and the struggle to accept that God was there as a helping hand. Thankfully I did start to understand God was there whether I felt I needed any help or not.
There’s nothing like rubbing someone’s nose in it is there lol. I love evensong in our church and don’t like missing it. Guess what, we are away and so will miss it this month. However we had planned as compensation to attend the services at Great Yarmouth Minster, but hey ho, the services are at one of the satellite churches which we can’t get to easily without driving. So we have been bravely facing that disappointment on top of missing our friends at St Peter’s. Then low and behold this beautiful well made video clip appears to really heap on the disappointment lol It is a lovely clip though, and reminds me that it is not just the talents of our Ministers, choir master and choristers, but it’s all the other people that give to support our worship. Thankyou to all of you whether in front or behind the scenes.
A heartfelt beautiful Service of Words, Songs and moving Prayers for WWDP . Thankyou- I am sure the fellowship we have shared throughout many years will be well remembered. God bless and hear our prayers. X
