I have more theories; billy subconsciously created the witches road (hex) just like how wanda created the hex. The both did it without realizing. Billys life was in danger cause the seven came and so he created a way out. The door wasnt there before but as soon as that happens the door appears all of a sudden. Agatha does not seem to recognize anything of this road and she always seems to be scared. Why would she be that scared when she had already walked it before? Sharon also mentioned the failed transit system below westview and jen mentioned to lilia here in the tunnels they passed a subway, and in the fork in the road, the right side looked like a train station. They are actually below westview in the failed public transit system. Its a hex, an illusion, billy altered reality. This one is somewhat farfetched but hear me out. I think the villain is billy and not rio. Somehow billy is going to have to be defeated by the coven with agathas help. After all, this is agathas show here and she needs to be the main focus cause the others are stealing the focus some. Rio cannot kill, she can only collect so there is no reason for her to be the villain. Wanda has a bad side to her and so does billy here. He is not that nice, just like he said. Agatha is telling the truth because the tarot cards said she was. That means she HAS been on the witches road before and that she couldnt control her power when she drained alice. Jennifer is the path ahead so the coven is definitely going to need her later.

I remember that the first song and video performance I watched of Wicked was Defying Gravity. It was at that moment that I had been swept by the twister and fallen in love with this musical. If you think the musical numbers for the first film are magical, just wait till next year when we get the second film!! This year, we will be Defying Gravity, but next year it will be all for the better and worth it For Good. 🧹💚🖤🩷🫧

Oh, she wasn’t just villainized ; she was ostracized from the moment she was born to the moment she was melted. There is an international trailer that gives you a lot more depth to the conflict in the land of Oz as well. The book is much more darker. 🧹💚🖤🩷🫧

Wicked is based on the musical that’s based on the book about Elphaba, a green skinned but misunderstood girl who eventually becomes the Wicked Witch of the West and her relationship with the popular blonde girl who becomes Glinda the Good Witch. This is the trailer to Wicked Part 1; part 2 comes out next year. I will never forget my first experience of seeing the musical and seeing all the beautiful sets and the costume designs, as well as the amazing talented cast. And I had just recently saw it again this past Christmas as I was introducing it to a family friend, so I am so hyped to see this iconic story come to the screen! And ironically the first musical I ever performed was the Wizard of Oz where I played Professor Marvel and the Wizard. 🫧🧹🩷💚

Yes, Elphaba & Galinda are very cute, I agree !! Btw, if you ever want to check out other released behind-the-scenes clips on your own time, it's well worth it. They're not anymore spoiler-y than the trailers. Some highlights include: - Production went old-school with the set-design in these films. Instead of relying almost entirely on smaller sound stages & green screen (like most fantasy films, these days), they built an entire complex of set structures to bring all those buildings & rooms to life. They actually planted the 9 million tulips in that tulip field. Even the boats & water are real (the colour is digitally enhanced, though). These sets will be split up & will then be set up at 5 different international cities as an exhibition event for the public. Obviously, green screen/CGI is still a large part of the production, since it is a magical world. But I appreciate how far they seem to have stretched the budget for the tangible materials, too. It also feels like a callback to the grandiose feeling of the production of the 1930s Wizard of Oz film. - The train is also real, functional, and was custom built, weighing 16 tonnes. It actually was driven into into Paris, to be displayed while the Olympics were on, right on the city tracks; passed by the Eiffel Tower and everything. There's a clip of it's arrival floating around online. - The vocal tracks for the soundtrack were recorded live, on the set, while the actors were doing their scenes. Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba/Wicked Witch) is actually belting out those notes live, while doing her own wire stunts at the same time. The dancers on the big hamster wheel contraption are also actually doing that; it's not CGI. Already, it's very clear that a lot of love, artistry, & care went into this film adaption. As a fan of the musical, I'm so hyped!!

Haha, you aren't the only one who starts tearing up, watching these trailers! It's a very emotional story. Fans of the musical have been waiting for a film adaption to come to fruition for YEARS. And so far, I think it's surpassing expectations! Just a heads up, Universal isn't really advertising this (I assume because they don't want to affect ticket sales), but this "Wicked" adaption will actually be spread across 2 feature films. The whole story was filmed all at once, but the decision to split it was done to ensure they could do the musical's story justice by expanding upon it in ways that's impossible to do in a 2-hr live stage performance. The director also wanted to ensure they didn't have to cut any of the songs from the musical. This first film, that releases this November, is Act 1 of the stage musical and will leave off right where the stage musical would enter the intermission break. The second film releases next year & is Act 2.

The second international trailer gives a few more hints as to the cause Elphaba supports and the situation in Oz 😉

Cynthia and Ariana’s harmonization has me shook. Check out the International Trailer because they show you some other things we haven’t seen in the US trailers AND the orchestration for the first 30 seconds of the international trailer is AMAZING.

The story is incredibly powerful. Cynthia and Ariana are going to slay these roles. You should totally see the Broadway show. The only thing is that the stage show, your imagination fills in a lot of the “blanks” because you obviously can’t see the “magic” on stage.

They absolutely did villainize her. In song you get to hear how the teacher warps the story to make Glinda the focus and a hero. The book/musical also does a good job of telling the backstory of how other characters came to be as well (the younger, pre-cowardly, lion; why one student/man was made the Scarecrow and another was made the Tin Man; the witch with the Silver Slippers that the house landed on) which makes the whole thing so fulfilling for any Wizard of Oz fan.

I adore this story. When I was younger I read the novel, then the books in the series following as they were released. I've seen the show multiple times in Toronto and once where it was meant to be seen, in New York City, and it is my firm belief that everyone should see it at some point. I love it so much that I was nervous, actually nervous (!) when they announced (years ago) that they would be doing this movie. I absolutely did not want them to make people want to see the stage show less, or ruin the story the way so many other adaptations have. Seeing the theatrical trailer (different from this one) for the first time also made me emotional (maybe a little bit more wreck-y than just emotional, but whatever) and I felt immediately that they had put the time and effort into doing this right. Finding out it is in two parts (Wicked: Part Two coming November 2025) confirmed that feeling. Hearing "For Good", seeing the true Silver Slippers and Dorothy+, even though they will be featured in the second film, has me even more looking forward to seeing the entire thing (probably so many times)! Witnessing someone who is not as familiar discover the story for the first time and be touched by it means like, a stupid amount to me. I love it and thank you for sharing! I have absolutely no stake in this movie and I'm still going to promote it like I'm g dang Ariana Grande. and omg that "she wasn't wicked!" actually got to me 😭 You're the best, I hope you love the movie when it comes out. You will definitely love the soundtrack!

The stage show is great and is an amazing story about friendship. It also incorporates the things that happened in the original "Wizard of Oz" too, so it's an amazing way to pull everything together into a very powerful and touching story. The movie looks amazing.

7:32 You gotta remember that William Kaplan’s mom, Rebecca, is the same mom Billy referred to in episode 2 when he said that his mom went to go see Alice’s mom’s concert (Lorna Wu) before she died. Meaning, the mom wouldn’t be against witches and stuff. Also judging by Billy Kaplan’s room, he was also into witchy stuff. Plus his Bat Mitzvah pamphlet said “Magick Mitzvah of William Kaplan” so the Bat Mitzvah was magic themed.

In the second episode Agatha asked Billy what he knows about covens. Billy said only that they're drawn together by fate. I think that's what we're seeing in the whole William segment of the show

I would watch a whole series about the citizens of Westview just humoring Agatha. Herb said they brought her food and stuff. They must have thought she really snapped because of what Wanda did and felt bad for her. There's something really sweet about it because they all went through the Hex too, so they know what it's like. And they didn't know her. Ralph was the one who lived in that house before the Hex. (I think some of them should remember her from the final fight but maybe they saw her fighting Wanda and though she was a hero?) She's just this person they all adopted. It kind of makes me want to cry.

Here’s another detail that I picked up on in the interrogation scene from William/Billy‘s perspective. If you remember from the original scene in episode one, Agatha saw him with dark fingers, which he played off as being caused by the fingerprint ink. Well, in what really happened as we’re seeing an episode six he doesn’t have dark fingers which is obvious as he was never fingerprinted. So why was Agatha‘s subconscious automatically calling him out as some form of witch? She had no idea who he was at this point. So it looks like some part of her had a clue as to who he was even from the beginning.

You got there relatively early, but a lot of people don’t realize until later in the episode that he doesn’t remember being Billy, or being William obviously because William is now dead. But imagine this poor kid for three years just having amnesia but knowing it’s more than that. For everything that got dropped on us in this episode I think the thing that is impacting me the most emotionally is the fact that poor William, who seemed like a nice kid died, and his parents have no idea that the kid that they’ve been raising for the last three years is not the same person as the son that they gave birth to. Maybe it’s impacting me as a parent, but that’s the tragic part of this episode. I think a lot of people are thrilled that Billy is still alive, but forget that Billy is alive because William had to die. It could also be that I love Joe Locke immensely and watching him with with blood all over his face while dying in a car wreck was more than my weak little gay heart could handle. 😂😂❤️

And love is blind, but that’s not the problem of the person who is loving because if they loving that’s who they are

I think the farthest Agatha had gone when she was trapped under wandas spell was when she was chasing teen and then got a cramp. Its like she can't go past that. If lilia didn't give him the sigil then the events of multiverse of madness would not have happened and wanda wouldn't have had to look for her kids and she wouldn't have "died". Wana couldn't sense or find billy because of the sigil.
