BREATHTAKING BALKANS - EPISODE 04 - TET MONTENEGRO / BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA
** Dont forget subtitles and switch it to 4K**
Episode 04
One thing that always strike me is the how big a change a border crossing can make. It's after all just a line on a map, but it amazes me how much it actually changes everything. The landscape changes, the infrastructure that has a massive impact on the roads and tracks we ride on changes. How can a line in the map change everything?
In this episode we finish the last 50km of TET Montenegro and embark on TET Bosnia & Herzegovina. A country I didn't know much about going in there, and it took me completely by surprise. I had know idea what to expect, and I was amazed to find views as breathtaking as Montenegro and tracks that in some ways where even more challenging.

This is it, the big one, the Very Grand Tour of the Breathtaking Balkans. In June 2024, 7 friends drove to the Balkans to ride some of the most spectacular and challenging roads of the Trans Euro Trail.
An attempt to find and search for the wild, search for the roughest tracks, the steepest climbs, the roughest terrain, in short one of the biggest challenges the Trans Euro Trail has to offer. With one reward in mind. To get to ride in landscape and scenery that will have you say, over and over again, THIS is the most amazing place I’ve ever ridden my motorbike.

We are taking a pause here, to remind all of you, that if you live in the northern hemisphere then right now is the right time to go for that Autumn ride. Maybe the last ride of the season. Before you know it, the snow will fall, and it is MUCH more pleasant to ride in falling leaves than falling snow. Riding in the autumn carries a bit of melancholy. @@thescandiflicktv BTW I thought the tone of your narration was perfect. It compliments the visuals well. I know that you've struggled and had self-doubt, but it really does sound good.
@ Thank you my friend, I finally feel like I’m able to get better sound out of my Rode NT usb+, even better in the next episode, finally getting better at dialing it in and using the eq better, always room for improvement right 😜🙏🏻
@@thescandiflicktv Technically the tone is good, but I also think the "tone" of your narration too. Just the right amount, just the right things to inform the viewer. Warm and friendly without being over-familiar.
@ Thank you mate, much appreciated ☺️❤️ Would still love to do it without the narrator but I’ll try and do more on camera narration going forward ☺️
We love your outstanding videos! Excellent job! Love the uniqe and individual mood of your videos. How did you record the intercom dialogs? Did the GoPro 12 record it via Bluetooth? Thanks for answering.
@@orsolyapusztainekiss9832 Hi there, thank you for kind words and for watching ☺️🙏🏻 The intercom and my voice is recorded through the GoPro, but with a double lavalier mic, one on the side of my mouth and one on the side of the Cardo Speaker. It works really well, only when I’m not wearing earplugs the Cardo speaker is not on max and therefore it’s a bit too low often, I need to pay more attention to this.
@thescandiflicktv thank you. ✌️ 🤗
27:15 Well... in harsh contrast to the words of beauty from just seconds before... this brings us about another step closer to riding restrictions. Please keep to the track and do not plow through meadows. Please respect nature and locals. Other than that: Love your content, adventure and group-spirit. Keep on the outstanding work.
@@Goldinils Thank you for the kind words, and for watching and taking the time to comment ☺️🙏🏻 First of all, there’s quite a few people that has commented about this, but according to local riders, we are completely riding in accordance to the law. As you can see just a couple of seconds before this clip, farmers drive here, and there are tracks that zig zag everywhere in that area, also, this is a grassy meadow, with plenty of rainfall and plenty of sunshine and in no way fragile vegetation, there’s tons of sheep and cattle and horses running around here and eating of the grass and as with any farming, turning the soil only provides further growth and healthier vegetation, some from the group are from Norway which has mountains with very fragile vegetation, not like Iceland where moss takes 150 years to grow back, but still. We know the rules and follow local rules and respect nature, and spinning the wheels and riding though grassy meadows is not illegal nor harmful for the vegetation.
In Latvia the same is popular bike T7 ;-) one of the reasson is price and reliability. Why in Scandinavian this bike is popular?
People either drive KTM or T7, Tenere is MUCH cheaper in Denmark than KTM, so very popular here. We have crazy 180%tax on cars and motorcycles in Denmark 🥵
hello from Latvia ;-) past year (2024) Twin Pegs Team visited our OUTDURO Scout festival ;-) .

It's not at all necessary to ride up the ski slopes to reach the top of the Bjelašnica mountain. There are two roads, one of them mostly covered in asphalt going around the mountain and the other more direct starting at the round about in the valley where the hotels are. Eventually they join and the mountain top is reachable in an ordinary car. The bombed out building in grey concrete at the top is not "former military outpost" but a part of the Olympic infrastructure for the 1984 winter Olympics that Sarajevo hosted. The building served as the starting point for the downhill ski competition. It was bombed by military airplanes in 1992 following "if we can't have them no one will have them" logic. Otherwise fine video and a great adventure. Cheers.
@@catmate8358 we reached the top up the slopes that specific way because we wanted the challenge, going down we went the other way, on serpentine steep gravel roads but not as steep as the slopes. Someone else also told me about the Olympics after I posted it, so my mistake there, although many former soldiers also from peace keeping forces told me they’re were posted on top of that mountain during the war, hence the mix up ☺️🙏🏻
@@thescandiflicktv I understand why you went up the ski slopes. I did it too (not on a bike) and I can confirm it's very steep. I simply wanted to offer more information if someone wanted to visit the place but was intimidated by the slopes, as it's not clear from the video that there's a different road. As for the Olympics, it was a long time ago, so no wonder young people might not know about it. My point was that a civilian installation was bombed by the military for no good reason, simply out of spite. Every time I go to Bjelašnica that sight makes me sick. Keep the rubber in the dirt and best regards.
@ Thank you for clearing that up for me mate ☺️🙏🏻 And for everyone seeing it and doesn’t want to ride up the steep hill ☺️ I get it, we didn’t feel any leftovers from the war other than mine signs, bullet holes in walls in Sarajevo and that building on the top of the slope but having lived there and experienced it is a very different story, so I can definitely understand 🙏🏻 Thanks again for letting me know
@@thescandiflicktv no prob mate. There's more to see on the Bjelašnica mountain besides the top so I'm waiting for the next installment to see what you managed to see 😉 Cheers!
