    The symbol on Module 1 resembles a bell, so it might be a NAC card. Similarly, the symbol on Modules 3 & 4 resembles a cloud of smoke, so they might be IDC cards.

    Holy crap.. that’s a very early coded National Time 2000 series panel!! Probably from the mid 1950s and was paired with either single stroke devices or 311 horns. Do you happen to know anything about this unit’s history by any chance?

    • @dfd5858

      Actually this was found in my school boards old electronics shop that was closed off for more then 30 years. In the same room was tons of Edwards and ibm single stroke bells but no national time devices were found. There are more of these as well as several simplex systems from the same era. The coder was missing so the one in the panel is from a edwards 6500 I scrapped

And the alarm company Monitoring did not get any trouble notice either. We just noticed it today as we walked by…My fire tech says it’s probably a board issue one of the capacitors close to the reset is dark.. but not sure he says .. answer I got is that it’s old and needs to be replaced.. we are doing a rebuild in this building in 24 months.. I can’t afford a new system now.. Is there anyone in the Toronto area I can call??

    The floor rust can also be from the firewall area rusting out or the bottom of windshield leaking then rusting thru. Check your hood hinge pockets and under battery tray. It looks like they repainted it in factory Cypress Green metallic over the original Light Ivory aka German taxi color. Good luck but don’t be shocked if you find more rust than what you see now.

  • @Katie-Bee

    It was weird learning that fact. That light switches could be silent but they added noise because that's what we are used to. Also the switch on sounds different then the switch off.

    • @mattshu
      @mattshu 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it’s to prevent arcing so the mechanism needs to be quick hence the sound of it snapping

    • @Katie-Bee
      @Katie-Bee 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mattshu that's part of it but it's possible to achieve that objective silently. Old school switches needed to be like that and were loud. This video is a good example of the mid way between some of those old rotary switches to modern day ones. They tried without sound but people didn't like it because it had always been a loud switching sound. People don't like change and personally I would feel wrong having a silent switch lol I like the sound.

    Make sure you do a valve adjustment! Who knows when it was done last. Becker audio will Remanufacture the radio, they are reasonably priced and can add Bluetooth. Those floors are a pain in the butt when it comes to rust. When you get into it to replace, you will see they drained partial through the edge of the rocker there and it just ate all that metal up. Also check under the battery tray, very common area to eat through the fire wall and you get water all on your passenger side especially in the rear foot well.

      @@dfd5858 I did not know the audio out on the Nortel was balanced. I always thought it was unbalanced, because of it being just a two wire setup. Also, is the phone system they're using a Nortel mics or something else? I think how the staff would page on the Nortel would be by using feature 62 or feature 630 for phones and speakers. Hopefully, a student doesn't find out how to use it.

    The bosch ABS module they used on the early-mid-2000s volkswagen (and other makes) had a similar problem. I had one of those cars and had to send my module out for repair, as I didn't feel confident taking it on myself at the time.

    • @dfd5858

    The interior hardly looks used - you got a good one. In UK the buzzer only goes off when the lights are on and you open the door. I think if you thoroughly grease the sunroof it should speed up the operation. You seem to be missing the warning triangle. Good luck.

    • @dfd5858
      @dfd5858 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for the comment! I do have the metal triangle but it is in my Volvo at the moment. with regards to the sunroof it seems like whatever engages it is slipping somewhere.

    • @Keeferlgb
      @Keeferlgb ปีที่แล้ว

      A cleaning and lubrication of the rails will probably solve the sunroof issue. Mine would move an inch and stop. I'd release the button and push it again, it would move an inch or two and stop again. The lubrication fixed it. Opens and shuts as it should now. Keep the drain free of debris, otherwise you'll end up with water in the rear floorboards at some point. You found a nice one! I have a burgundy '82 240D I'm working on as well.
