Good idea, programming this bot is definitely easier than getting a friend.
i am very much fond of the fact that the bot has the same voice as horace form horace. he’s just a friendly robot helping people
when ur are so stupid they cant defuse a bomb, you program some to be the best at defusing bombs

No one is mentioning how he defuses simon says himself while the bot is solving other modules. That is very impressive.
I thought the same thing watching this. I looked at the manual though to see how you figure it out, and it's actually pretty easy to memorize what buttons you have to press for Simon says so long as you have no strikes.
That's standard when playing the harder modes in this game though.
That's actually very standard for mid level defusers, and even some low level ones. If you don't have any strikes you only have to memorize two maps, both of which are extremely easy to remember. Hell I almost exclusively play expert and I can do it.
pretty sure there is a bomb in the base game that you cant defuse with the expert cause it takes to long to watch the simon says(there are like 6 simon says modules), so you have to memorie the patterns

I love the part at 3:50 where it thinks you gave it a button, and now you have to defuse the bot so it doesn't get more confused. This would be hilarious to do to a friend if you have a miscommunication! I suppose it's so you don't accidentally tell the bot that it misinterpreted you and it deletes its memory about a module that actually did exist? But the silent acceptance of the mistake is so funny.

it’s memorised the game’s instruction manual (so player w/ bomb says what they see, and player w/ manual reads back what the answer instruction is) and using voice/word recognition to feed back the correct answers to the player

This was a genuinely impressive feat of programming. Still has a few kinks to iron out though. It misheard ‘button’ when you were doing the ‘A,B,C’ defuse.
I too sometimes wish to replace my friends with a robot when playing this game 😂 Amazing work btw, the speech recognition was surprisingly reliable. Perhaps a "cancel module" command would smooth over the few times it misheard you

I love the military language when you're defusing it, are you from the bomb squad?
The point of the phonetic alphabet is to reduce ambiguity. When you're listening to a crappy military radio over helicopters or worse, the letters B, C, D and E all sound the damn same. So they lengthen them to 'bravo, charlie, delta, echo', and thus you know what letters they're referring to. That'd be why Devan used phonetic alphabet - because it uses speech recognition and if you just used letters the bot would likely mishear them very easily.

This is oddly stressful but so cool to watch!!! like a fricking thrill movie i expected a bot that automatically just defused the bomb but nope, full on guide and i love it! more useful then the real players at giving instructions too xD
