A wonderful actor and a incredible humanitarian and I think Lee wasn't just protective of Amanda. I think that he was also protecting himself, because he didn't want to get hurt again. Lees a damaged soul, he's been hurt so much in the past. Amanda was getting to close and I think that she was also worried about him and protecting him to. But I don't think Cindy was like Kathrine Hepburn, she's more like Ingrid Bergman Kate is more like Kathrine Hepburn she's more whimsical. And the stunts on Scarecrow and Mrs King are absolutely spectacular, a wonderful and talented actor and a great interview, my favorite TV shows are Scarecrow and Mrs King, Hart to Hart, The A Team and Crazy like a Fox are you gonna talk about them as well. He has a very nice voice and an astounding vocabulary, he is obviously a man of great respect and compassion. He obviously appreciates his opptunities and his Co workers.

He shouldn't have worried about Moonlighting because, Moonlighting only had two characters that anyone liked. But Scarecrow and Mrs King had so much more going for it, it had better characters and a better back ground. The Agency was a continuation of the underground against Hitler and the story lines were better. The main problem is they never should have given it that tittle because it focuses on two characters, it should have been called IFF International Fedral Films that way they do the same story lines, but that way the actors would have more freedom and it would have lasted longer. The best show ever and it should have crossed over with Hart to Hart, because they would have been the perfect double date and I live the story of the two babies hugging.

First of all, I have to say I think this episode it truly terrific and your shows are very entertaining. You seem to be such truly moral and charming ladies and I like your voices too. That being said I don't know how anyone can call this man ungrateful, if he was ungrateful he wouldn't have said that how glad he was the show gave him his start. He said he was forever looking for Scarecrow, he was hoping that it would come back he has made it clear time and time again that he appreciates what the show has done for him and close he is to Kate, even with their divided years. I met him at a Mega Con and I told him that I was a child of abuse and that I thought he was such a nice man that I just wanted to meet him. Anyway he reacted with kindness, he felt sorry for me I saw it in his eyes. I'm telling you now a man who was raised with such decency has a real chance to be just that. I belive that he was raised by such wonderful people who seemed to have influenced him with such compassion and morality that he appreciates all the good things that have happened to him. I agree with what he said about Kate being like Hepburn they should have remade Bringing up Baby in the eighties, Bruce and Kate would have been great in that, that's my favorite black and white movie, if you haven't seen it you don't know what your missing. And Robert Wagner and Stephanie Powers should have starred in a remake of the Thin Man I love those movies. And I think they should have also remade Sabrina and Roman Holiday and Bruce should have starred with Shannen Doherty their such powerful actors, they would have been great together.

Tyne is obviously a deep thinker and she would never in a million years be a Trump supporter which is a good thing but at the same time she makes such a big deal out of every little thing. I found it odd that she has no interest in the world of television that she isn’t in. It’s sort of narcissistic to not even like the medium that brought her such success. The last tv show she was on was the sappy, preachy and insufferable Judging Amy. I used to think Judging Amy was why so many viewers turned to cable. They wanted The Sopranos and The Wire which was the complete opposite of what she was on.

I’ve been streaming Remington Steele over and over again. No matter how many times I watch them, I laugh out loud every single day because it’s such a funny show. When Laura’s mom asked Laura if she’s ok because she’s read about women in prison, every time I see the facial expressions on Laura’s face, that is comedy gold!! Her facial expressions are the best in this show lol

It's a shame Bruce was never on Supernatural, the behind the scenes he describes and 22 ep runs, Supernatural was one of the last shows to do that.

The interviewer asked him what episode of Scarecrow and Mrs king did he like ,but instead he ramble on about bring um back alive, sometimes I think Bruce Boxleitner have a problem with Scarecrow and Mrs king and doesn't want to admit that was the tv series that made him a household name, he seems ungrateful, if it wasn't for SMK no one would know who you are, you probably would not have gotten the shows you did get, don't forget your SMK fans and Kate Jackson.

He has the most amazing voice and is still so beautiful ❤❤ thank you for sharing this with us

Thank you for posting the 2-part interview. I loved SMK back in the day and have been rewatching it after vids of the 50th anniversary of Little House on the Prairie showed up on my feed which reminded me Melissa Gilbert used to be married to Bruce Boxleitner!🤦🏻‍♀️ Anyway, loved his interview and hearing about the show and especially his relationship with Kate Jackson, my favorite Angel.

What would have been a colossal mistake is if fate hadn't stepped in and led Doris Roberts to Michael Gleason's door. The idea of having a young assistant in a rivalry with Laura for Steele's affections would have tipped the scales in favor of Pierce's character. Mildred Krebs is a delight no matter my age at the time I've watched the show (25, 50, etc). She keeps it real and is many things to both her bosses.

I am thrilled to find this podcast. I am an 80's girl who wanted to be Laura Holt when I grew up. To summarize my devotion to it, let's just say I started to watch at 13 and I never stopped. I've had to buy the dvd box set twice. Remington Steele ( the original) would never work in 2024 but it was in my opinion groundbreaking. As much as I love the show listening to SZ talk sometimes makes me cringe. It's like she has a chip on her shoulder. It's been years and you made your character Iconic for our generation move on its what I want to say to her be gracious and grateful and a little humble but again I did not walk in her shoes so who knows what she went trough. I know she was supposed to be the star and in my eyes she was the main character and the reason for me watching but the show was named Remington Steele and Pierce Brosnan is a force no way he would have stayed a minor character. I am grateful that on dvd Season 1 he put to rest the never-ending rumors of not getting along, and he spoke lovely of her. Not everyone gets along while working, best example is Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny who are now the best of friends. Having said all this, I will forever be grateful for Laura Holt who shaped me in so many ways. I would love to see a spinoff where their granddaughter takes over the agency.

As to what Lacey says to the flasher "Put that thing away, you don't know where it's been!" TV show here in the UK asked the production team whilst the show was still on air and that's what they came back with.

For what I understand the show decided to film several episodes in Europe because the 1984 Olympics were in LA.. making location filming around LA difficult.

I recently started watching Remington on Prime video. I originally watched it, but this time I've binged at least 5 times. I never get tired of it. Thanks for making it.

I have been binge-watching "It's a Living." I am 54, it was one of my favorite shows in my teenage years. I discovered this interview when I was searching for the real composer of the Beautiful Lady Near Me song that character Sonny Mann wrote. It was a beautiful song. It was first used in the show where the record producer offered Sonny a record deal because of that song, but it turned out to be a mistake because he was drunk.

I finally got the chance to sit back and listen to your show, and I have to say that I love it. This episode was great, and I enjoyed the insight. But, out of all the shows, characters, and actors discussed, I have this weird urge to watch Remington Steele.😆 Happy to be a new subscriber! 👏

She was a fabulous selection for the show. First season was the best. She looked best in her business suit.However her understanding of the show, that she was the Star, he would play a minor role as comic relief and appear in the last 2 mins of each show. When they filmed “License to Steal” it was clear both were going to be the Stars. Then they dropped the first season intro, a very provocative opening by her explaining the premise of the show. She was not happy when the second season intro it was no longer about her. Clearly the NBC executives wanted both to be Stars. It was promised to her that this was “her show.” This was the beginning of the feminism movement, she doesn’t need a big strong man. Hence her hat, I can fill that role.

No Mildred’s character was a mistake. If you wanted to attract older viewers that’s the ticket. I would have kept season one characters. Ms Fox was often very skeptical of him.

A couple of notes. I talked about divergence in my previous comment on part one, how life became vastly different for Hungarian Americans and those who stayed, which is why Casablanca is partially built on a factual error. Keeping in line with the “let's give exotic characters Hungarian names, nobody will notice” trend, Lazlo per the story, flees to Casablanca to avoid Nazi occupation. All fair and good for a Czech or a Slovak, the polar opposite for an ethnic Hungarian. A small war and the First Vienna Accords awarded much of Slovakia to the Kingdom of Hungary, and after 2 decades of being considered a 5th column in their country, many were welcoming. So why would he flee? He couldn't have been a communist, they either stayed behind or somehow managed to flee to the USSR. That leaves one unspoken conclusion never spelled out (since yeah the Nazis were bad, but America was still not keen on Jews), namely that Lazlo was assimilated by name but remained Jewish, and once evident what happened he fled. If one binges or watches the show in installments, looking back, maybe there's one thing Miss Zimbalist forgot that Steele even mentions in Season 5 while visiting the Soviet embassy, to see how the other side lives. RS is a time capsule of the Western world. In fact, before owning the show on DVD, I've first seen it in German dubbed in the 90s. Where Moonlighting was bought shortly after the Cold War because Bruce Willis became a big hit, RS flew under the radar for a long time. By the time RS was dubbed into Hungarian, I knew Mr. Brosnan as Bond and Miss Zimbalist as a movie actress. Speaking of division, a couple of years ago, Patrick Duffy narrated a Romanian movie on how Dallas directly contributed to the downfall of Ceausescu. Despite mixed marriages, Hungarians in Romania did not tattle to us on what happened in Dallas, so while they got to enjoy it when it originally aired, it was almost over by the time we started. Speaking of Romania, driving a stick, well… there's a “certain charm” to learning to drive on badly maintained roads in cars intentionally designed not to be comfortable.

It was only touched upon as a fleeting remark regarding family history, Zimbalist as a name isn't that widespread in Hungary. Her grandfather left for America in 1911, shortly before the inevitable collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which became a massive point of divergence for any Americans who traces their heritage to the monarchy. One giant linchpin was the process of forced Magyarization, assimilation where cultural identity was forged into the majority by way of pressuring non-Hungarians into choosing between keeping their social status and/or land at the price of abandoning identity, or keeping it but losing the former. That said as her grandfather was Jewish Russian who was born at a time when pogroms were still a thing I wouldn't be surprised he adopted the name as a vocation.

This is so interesting! I googled Eilish because I'm sitting here watching "Murder She Wrote" & noticed her name as the costume designer. So I googled it & found this. This is so interesting & I'm really enjoying this interview & hearing from Eilish.

TV and music, this was the ultimate episode for me. My favorite montages were "Starsky and Hutch", "Vega$", "I Spy", "Mission Impossible", "Barney Miller", "The Monkees" and "Friends". "Hill Street Blues" is one of my favorite Mike Post themes (along with "The Rockford Files" and "The White Shadow"), and it did make the Billboard top 40. I love that "Breaking Bad" brought "Baby Blue" by Badfinger back to the charts. I also watched an episode that used "Goin' Down" by The Monkees. That was so cool. Thanks for another great show ladies. BTW Susan, you are so not Rose.
