Alex in season 1 really kind to ONLY the good guys, like Clay and Tyler. The way he defends them is so sweet. He totally behave the opposite when he faced the jerk guys like Monty, Justin, etc

Stripped away of some characters and story lines the show had potential to very subversive for a HS drama. I mean this guy did bad things but he has only ever known bad things himself.

The team was really his home. Damn.
