Wow!! Very beautiful video. Thanks for sharing. 👍2
You're welcome! Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts! 😊
Which trail did you take up? And how cold was it up at the summit?
We took the standard Sunset Ridge up and went down via the LT, Maple Ridge and the CCC road to close the loop. This day was warm for VT, probably 20-30 with no wind.
Your video is absolutely mesmerizing! The landscapes are captured so beautifully. Thanks for sharing these amazing views! 👍2
Thank you!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. It really was an outstanding hike from start to finish! We work hard to capture the landscape in as true a way as possible, and your kind words mean a lot!
beautiful mountain views
Absolutely! I had never hiked the loop; passing the Black Mountain Ponds was such a treat!
There is a great little Jackson loop route that allows you to avoid the usually crowded Tumble trails that still includes Tumbledown Pond and some beautiful trail and views of the park from Little Jackson above the pond. It's one of my favorite hikes in the region. You begin at the Morgan Road parking area (Morgan Rd. is about 1000 ft. beyond the Mountain View Cemetery on the Byron Rd). From the parking area, hike up the Parker Ridge Trail .3 miles and bear right at the junction on to the Little Jackson trail. Ascend the trail 1.2 miles until you reach the Pond Link Trail junction. You can go either way at this point but I generally like heading to the pond before the summit so I go left on the Pond Link Trail. 1.1 miles later after cresting a ridge, you will begin to see the pond. The trail makes it's way through a few 'campsite' openings (even though camping is forbidden on this mountain). At the 2nd campsite overlooking the pond, look for a heard-path that heads downhill towards the pond shore. Locating the beginning of this trail will be the trickiest part of the hike. Once on the non-official but well traveled path, is is relatively easy to navigate due to adequate flag tape and the worn footpath. You are paralleling the pond over some cool ledge and woodsy terrain as you make your way toward the base of Little Jackson Mountain. There is a trail sign identifying the beginning of the ascent up Little Jackson. I love this section of the trail as you gain elevation quickly the views of Tumbledown Mountain and Pond become outstanding. The trail ends at the summit of Little Jackson where you take the regular marked trail back down to the Parker Ridge Trail and your car.
I was wondering if something like this existed! I'm going to keep your comment for my next trip over and give it a try. It sounds fantastic!!
I will do this one today October 28th! It snowed last night but weather will be 70s this Thursday.
This mountain might be low enough to not be too icy and snowy in late October. I hope you have a great hike when you go!!
Thank you
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. 😊
Amazing views from the fire tower, very nice
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! The views from this tower are unique and pretty spectacular!! 😊
great video! looks like a perfect day out there
It was gorgeous!! It won't be long, and we'll be hiking in snowshoes!
Very nice colors. Thanks for sharing. 👍1
Thank you for the comment! It was a gorgeous day, and the colors were pretty spectacular! 😊🍁❤️
Incredible video, thanks for sharing.
Hey! Thanks for the feedback!! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. What an amazing spot?! We were awestruck, for sure!! 🏔️😁
Hello! We paddled from the dam to the l'Equerre campsite, and hiked to the Chute du Ruisseau Blanc. It was so beautiful!!
Magnifique ballade sur la Malbaie ! C'etait quelle chute vous avez éte voir à 1:00 ? Est-ce que c'est passer le camping de l'Equerre ? Merci pour le partage

Can you stay at the lookout overnight?
Yes, you can!
Beautiful video. Thanks for sharing. 👍1
I'm so glad you liked it! 😁
Beautiful video. The views are awesome. Thanks for sharing. subd & 👍1
This was such a sweet, short hike. I highly recommend it if you're in the area!
Where at?
This is at the Sacred Nectar Sanctuary in the White Mountains in NH. It's a Hip Camp location that takes you a mile up the side of Mount Whiteface on a 4x4 road. It's an outstanding spot.
This is a must do hike right here!
Absolutely!!
Beautiful, love the clouds speeding by. Is Catamount close to Taylor Pond and Silver Lake Mountain? Just subscribed
Thank you for the feedback!! I absolutely loved the clouds! Catamount is right next to Taylor Pond and Silver Lake Mountain!! Let me know if you go, and if you like the hike!
I hiked up Silver Lake Mountain twice and camped at Taylor Pond and dispersed camped at Union Falls Pond. Love your videos, should be getting a lot more views and comments.
I went to a camp on Silver Lake for 11 years. The peak of Catamount was visible from it. Must have climbed it 10 times. A great day hike, rich with blueberries in August. Great view of Whiteface. I think there still are no properties on Taylor Pond. All wilderness. Finding the trail in off the road is not easy.
Ken, I so enjoyed your comments. This entire area is so beautiful! I believe you are correct about Taylor Pond; it's still pristine. And Silver Lake is so beautiful!! What a blessing it is to share these beautiful places!!
@@ruthielaroche8949 I saw from the video they modernized the Catamount beginning and trail. When I climbed it there was no trail sign by the road nor book to sign. The entrance was confusing as there were no trail markers initially and an old logging road threw people off. You had to make sure you bore to the right, which usually meant you had some experienced hikers with the peak with you or you knew yourself. No wide open trails at the beginning.
stunning views
Absolutely! And so much solitude!!
Beautiful! The summit and views reminds me a bit of My Townsend in The Olympic Mountains Wa.
First, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!! I love the feedback. I'll have to look up Mt. Townsend!! 😊 If it's like this, I've got no doubt I'd love it!! 😊🏔️
Nice video. Very underrated area
Thank you! And I absolutely agree on the point about it being underrated. It was breathtaking and incredibly unique. Thank you for watching and commenting.
What a content, what a magnificent atmosphere my friend!
It was absolutely stunning! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😊
Beautiful hike, the snow, the sun and no wind! Thanks for sharing.
It was an incredible day, for sure. There was wind up higher, I'm sure, from the speed the clouds were moving at!
Beautiful day to be out!! Well done and thank you for sharing:)
I'm glad you enjoyed the recap! It was a stellar day, for sure!! And no wind on Whiteface is like finding a unicorn!
Great trail and what a day to be out! Awesome.
It was such a gorgeous day!! The calm before the storm, as the remnants of a hurricane swept up the next day (which one was it?) I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for the feedback!! :)
RPR was beautiful, I just did it a couple of weeks ago for the first time. Looks like you had a beautiful day!
Isn't that a gorgeous spot?! The first time we did it we were socked in across the ridge. It was so good to come back and see it on such a gorgeous day!! I'm glad you got to enjoy it as well!! Did you get some nice foliage?
Are there bears up there?
There are no grizzlies, but we did bring our food in bear canisters to be cautious with any black bears that might come through.
Thank you for creating and sharing this video. I hadn't heard of Hopkins Mountain, it looks like a great view for a modest hike. It looks like you had beautiful conditions for your hike. I especially enjoyed watching your dog's flubbering lips at 0:45, and their flying ears at 1:55 : )
It's a great hike, for sure! And our dog Yadi totally enjoyed it. He likes to hike in cooler weather. 😁
One of the few I have not been to. On my list now... great video!
You're going to love it! We went from Friday to Saturday in mid-August, and we were so pleased with the quietness of the place; it's just stunning! Thank you for watching the video and giving your feedback.
Washington State is awesome, love the North Cascades
Agreed! Such an incredible place!! 😁🗻
Great vid
Thank you!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. It's a gorgeous hike!!
Thank you!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Wow this is such a beautiful hike! Can I check what time you started the hiking? Thanks very much :)
Thank you for watching!! We actually started hiking around 8:30/9 am that day (a Friday) because we knew we were going to spend the night and wanted to get a spot. We went to the tarns, set up camp, and hiked out to the true Yellow Aster Butte summit (most people stopped at the first viewpoint), which I recommend if you are comfortable with steep terrain, drop offs, and some four points of contact hiking. After hiking to the Butte, we came back to our tent and actually moved to a different spot with a better view. 😂 If you weren't spending the night, I'd still recommend an early start to give plenty of time for exploring and for parking. It wasn't too full on Friday, but when we hiked out Saturday morning we were pretty shocked at how many cars were lined up on the road!
@@ruthielaroche8949 thanks so much for such a detailed reply! Appreciate it lots. This is very helpful because my friends and I will be heading there next week :)
Looks like you had a great day to hike the Moose!
It was a beautiful day, for sure. There's something about those moody, cloudy days that really makes them memorable. 😊🌥️ Thank you for watching and leaving a note!
_Really cool and interesting hiking adventure footage with incredible video captures and enhanched by wonderful music, the stunning beauty and exciting of incredible Rosster Comb summit neighborhood scenery is clearly shown. Great to be able to watched it, thank you so much for always sharing wonderful inspiration._
Thank you!! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, and I appreciate the feedback! 😊 The Adirondacks are beautiful mountains, and it's wonderful to share our experiences there.
Do a video on ampersand mountain near Saranac lake, you will love it. View is unbelievable. The trail is best in Adirondacks. Old growth forest (big trees) and you cross six streams. Caves up on top.
I apologize I didn't see this earlier. Ampersand is a gorgeous peak! I've hiked it at least three times and twice was into cloud; the third time I didn't have the GoPro, but at least the summit was mostly clear! I'll have to make that right this spring/summer. I remember joking with my husband when we climbed the Seward Range and looked over to Ampersand that it was the first time I'd seen the summit totally clear! 😂 And every time I'd gone the forecast had called for clear skies.
@@ruthielaroche8949 last year I went on the Fourth of July and watched the fireworks 🎆 🎇 in Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, and Long Lake all at the same time. Probably going to go up and watch the solar eclipse on April 8th. Don’t hike Ampersand too early in the spring. There is tons of blown down across the trail and it’s going to be a muddy spring. Best time to hike ampersand is in June and early October.
I bet the fireworks were fantastic!! What a perfect place to watch!! I've hiked it in summer and fall. I thought about it a couple of times this winter, but with all the freeze/thaw I figured the ice could be bad if I hit the wrong stretch of time. That trail is so wet even in a dry year!
I really enjoy your videos, thank you for posting them. So serene....
I'm so glad you've enjoyed them, and I appreciate the feedback. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to send a note.
It is interesting to see a different mountain path from Korea.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I thought the colors in the rocks were stunning!
What a beautiful place.
It was an absolutely beautiful day, and it really is an incredible range!
Solo'd this same route on a nice day a few weeks before, excellent hike, nice footage!
Wow, this got lost in space! It's always such a beautiful trail...and so much less busy in winter!! :) I'm glad you enjoyed the footage!
Awesome!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was a spectacular day!!

Beautiful day for it!
Nice video ! What is the parking your started ? And what is the trail you took ? Thank you :)
Hi John, I'm glad you liked the video. It was an incredibly beautiful day! We parked just outside the Underhill State Park in a small, plowed pull off (the park is closed in the winter) , and we hiked the Sunset Ridge Trail to the summit. From there we crossed the summit ridge, and went down Maple Ridge to the CC Road. This eventually joins back up to the trail that takes you down to the parking lot to complete the loop. You can hike straight up and down the Sunset Ridge Trail, or choose any of the other trails that come off that side of the mountain and dump you back to Underhill State Park. I hope that helps!
@@ruthielaroche8949 perfect thank you did you went up with you snowshoe or just boot ? Again thanks👍🏼
Super cool! We camped over there last august (22). It’s amazing place cannot wait for summer) to go there again! What month is this?
My apologies; I'm just seeing this. We went in August of '22, so we were there about the same time!
@@outdoorswithruthie3423 how cool is that)))
@@anzhelikavardi7204 that is so cool!! :)
It looks like Stephen King's Micmac cemetery in "Pet Sematary"
I wasn't familiar with your reference, but I can see what you mean after I looked it up!
@@outdoorswithruthie3423 Yes, the place seems to have power. It might be able to resurrect something dead, like the micmac graveyard. haha ha
