Transcript: Standing here today in the middle of a global pandemic, I guess I've realised what the value of travel truly is. Standing here today in self-isolation, when my city has gone into lock-down, has helped me realise how privileged I have been, for all these years, to have had free access to countries, to places, to people. I’ve always felt this urgent demand in my blood to travel. I've heard places calling out to me. I've heard their whistling sound in the middle of the night: and therefore, I decided to do what spoke to me the most: I decided to travel. This was a bug that was sown in me by my parents when I was little. I remember having traveled for many many years with them. We would go out on, at least, four or five expeditions each year. I was born and raised in India but I’ve lived in the US for a while, studying at an Ivy League institution. I’ve traveled to thirteen different countries, I've explored the length and breadth of this country. And every path has been a calling, every path had a calling cadence, the flight of every bird a beckoning, the colour of ice an invitation. And therefore, I sought out wilderness, I sought out wildness, I sought out places that made my heart beat faster, I sought out people that made me want to snatch the fruit from the tree, and suck it, to spill the juice. I'm traveler, I'm a seeker., I'm an explorer: of places, of people, of emotions. **But more importantly, I'm a writer, I'm an imagineer! I’ve written poems for celebrated journals in India, the UK, and the US about traveling. I have published stories in India and the UK about places and about writing about places. I therefore feel very strongly that I might just be the person you’re looking for at Spirit Bohemian! ** (Not sure how the audio got botched up in the end/ apologies!)
