A Week in Thorne Bay
มุมมอง 2K7 ปีที่แล้ว
So life as a business owner in a small town is busy. In fact there is never a dull moment, just an occasional moment to pull a crab pot and get dinner. Here is a snippet of last week and a slice of my life in Thorne Bay.
I have the best office in the world!

Dawn Floatplane Landing
มุมมอง 1617 ปีที่แล้ว
Float planes are our connection to the outside world. People, Mail, UPS, Newspapers anything larger and it arrives on the weekly barge run. Amazon Prime is king around these parts. I tease the pilots about being dog food and toilet paper airlines. With a view like this in the morning who wouldn't want to be here?

    Please, tell us more about the worms will they die if frozen are they harmful to humans

    • @andersonlodgealaska
      @andersonlodgealaska 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lazar Mavrenovic - Worms and parasites are naturally occurring in fish.and are more problematic in raw seafood dishes such as sushi or ceviche. They are not always harmful to humans but can be. There are not always worms in fish, but taking standard precautions is prudent. A form of roundworm is most common in halibut and tapeworms are more common in salmon. Freezing fish to -4 degrees F for 7 days is the standard to kill parasites that may be present. Commercially caught fish are frozen to -35 F for at least 15 hours. If fish is cooked thoroughly to 145deg F for at least 15 seconds the same is accomplished. Thank you for your excellent question.
