    Why did they wrap it like that? I just had it done 4 days ago and all they put on mine was cotton cast wrap and a ace bandage. Mine is doing great all I'm using is a big bandage and my brace. Just curious..

    Thanks so much for sharing! I’m having this surgery (and cubital tunnel surgery) in 2 weeks because my hands don’t work anymore - I’m dropping everything. I’m so scared but you’ve made me excited for recovery! Thanks!

    Was the surgery endoscopic? I am having bilateral on 6-26-2024. I am so excited to finally get the surgery done and not be constant pain. My doctor said, he would only put a big strong bandage.

    Just had right done on 12th. Gotta say not bad at all. I have MS so I know I couldn't do both at the same time. Everything went great. Swelling worst part for me.

    @spiritscorner 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yes, I heard typing a lot can cause carpal tunnel..basically anything repetitive is not good. Unless you're not using your hands its possible to get carpal tunnel. Lol, I'm definitely interested in acupuncture, though. Thanks!

    I had my right hand done first. Only had freezing. I felt everything happening during surgery but no pain. It took all about 20 mins including stitches. I was told to keep my hand elevated above my heart for 48hrs and I only took one advil after the freezing started to wear off about 8 hrs later to ease the pain which was tolerable but to be more comfortable I took it. I also did some finger exercises right away to keep things moving. The fingers were stiff surprisingly while doing the exercises. I still do them at 4 weeks. Then the morning of the 5th day I was allowed to take the bandages off. Honestly I had trouble wiping with bandage off so I used my left hand for about 3 weeks. Using right hand for wiping now and find wrist still sore during wiping it's been 4 weeks now. Just taking it easy there. Not sure I would like to get both at the same time. I like being to have one hand to still do regular stuff. I am getting left hand done in June. I have had NO carpel tunnel symptoms since the surgery very happy I did the surgery. I have had carpal tunnel for 24 yrs. I can sleep through the night now. Makes me wanna cry that I can finally sleep..left hand is not as bad but still getting it done as there are symptoms there just not as bad. TIP I have been wearing a sports bra to make it easier. Also yes if you have any prescription bottles may need help opening those. So plan ahead with that.

    Glad to find your videos! Thanks for addressing the bra issue! I won't have help all the time so have to figure things out. I've ordered some sports bras to see if they will work. I'm going nuts trying to figure out how I'll maneuver things with 1 hand. Having ulnar nerve surg (elbow) done first followed by carpal tunnel when first arm is healed.

    I am sowmya, sandeeps,s wife heree.....Had bilateral CTS surgery and your video is a therapy which I just stumbled upon yesterday night ... I too share similar thoughts, absolutely hv a caretaker if going for bilateral..for us as we both are full time working parents in a different country, I made sure my parents are around , just for added support.. surgery definitely worth it. And I vouch for bilateral CTS at the same time, definitely don't regret it ...of course we should hv a support system. In place

    Same day, both done ? How can you clean yourself ? This morning, you say, no swelling in either hand ? Your story is bogus. Completely bogus ?? I had one done Friday. No pain to complain of. They gave me 10 vicodin. I only used 2. Your fiance cleaned your butt ! 😆 lol I clean myself , showering I wrap the arm and I'm good to go.

    Thanks Amanda! SUPER helpful video. I'm booked for Carpal Tunnel surgery day after tomorrow. Surgeon will decide whether to do one hand or both just beforehand. You've just given me much more confidence to see if he will do both at once for me. Only challenge will be catching a flight home the day after surgery, as I'm in a remote part of Western Australia and have to travel to Perth for the surgery. Thanks again for you excellent video! 🙂

    I'm getting ready to do this surgery next month I am suffering and mine is extreme I wake up every night multiple times a night have to get up shake the hand it's in pain, I was able to manage it for a very long time but boy when that pain started I said it's enough time to get this crap fixed. This video 6 years old though and they do it in the office now and I do not believe that you get put to sleep they said I'd be awake.

    You know, I asked them if I could get both of them done at the same time. My doctor would not do it. I’m kind of glad now that I didn’t because I also got my knee done the same time I got my hand done. I got a meniscus repair on my right knee and carpal tunnel release on my left hand. I’m planning on scheduling my next surgery as soon as I’m fully recovered from this one for my right hand and my left knee. I worked at FedEx for almost 6 years and it’s very physically damaging on the body. I’m thinking about going to school to get a job that won’t be so bad on my body but you go girl

    I had surgery for carpal on right hand with also 2 trigger finger surgery and now a year later I had left carpal surgery with 1 trigger finger release, both carpel at same time, nope not for me. I did both surgeries wide awake, only nerve block because of history with afibb. They didn't give me anything to relax, so I took one 7.5 hydrocodone early, so I felt pretty good 🎉🎉

    How severe were your symptoms before the surgery because I’m supposed to be having mine on the 12th and I’m really considering just getting both done and over with but I don’t have anyone to help me that’s the only thing and I’m a CNA in the hospital so I push and pull more than 100 pounds, so I’m gonna be out for like three weeks But I was wondering if you ever had that sensation where it felt like your hands were on fire in the middle of the night because that’s been the worst of the worst symptom for me. Also, did you ever get like cortical steroid injections and if so, how many cause I got quite a few within like a year I had four or five.

    I just had my second one done yesterday,the first one on my right hand actually damaged the nerves completely in the palm and now I am left with 24 seven pain and burning the Doctor Who did the surgery said he’s never seen anything like it. I’ve been to the neurologist they don’t have a clue of what happened it was just a fluke, freak surgery unfortunately, I can already feel the burning in my left palm as well. I’m gonna cross my fingers and hope the same doesn’t happen because I’m right handed and now I have no use of my right hand, except for the three fingers and thumb. I hope your surgery went well for you. I know it’s been a few years. ❤
