Why the 3Ds Launch was Horrible
มุมมอง 4.8K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
#videogamehistory #gaming #3ds #nintendo #2011 #e3 #videogames #youtube #mario The 3Ds was a definitive staple of my childhood, and I mean it. I may not have had many game consoles growing up, but I for sure had Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Smash Bros. to play. And a Kindle Fire, I was on that thing ALL the time... Over the years, I see the PS3 and Xbox ...
Minecraft for the 3DS (You Gotta Love It)
มุมมอง 8K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
#nintendo #minecraft #3ds #2017 #videogames #gaming I already had my two week Minecraft phase, so it's safe to say the game is getting stale. However, what if I could get back into the game by playing a different and more... portable... version of Minecraft. I know there's the Switch and smart phones, hell even the PS Vita, but I want to suffer and play dammit! Today I look at Minecraft for the...

The Wii Zapper
มุมมอง 6919 หลายเดือนก่อน
#Wii #nintendo #zelda #videogamehistory #gaming #videogames Who remembers the Wii Zapper? I don’t!! So that’s why in this video I wanted to get to know the Wii accessory just a little better. It may be a tiny part of the Wii’s history (and a forgettable one) but that doesn’t mean it isn’t interesting… Time Stamps: 0:00 Intro 1:21 How did it come to be? 2:32 Making my own Wii Zapper prototype 3:...
I've noticed that certain studios seem to like amiibo more than others. EPD 3 (Responsible for Zelda), EP8 (Responsible for 3D Mario) and especially EPD 5 (Responsible for Splatoon and Animal Crossing) seem to love them, with EPD 5 making Happy Home Paradise and assisting NDcube with amiibo Party just so Animal Crossing amiibo could exist. EPD 4 (Responsible for really unique games) and EPD 10 (responsible for 2D Mario and Pikmin) seem to have no interest. The later had some for Super Mario Maker when it was still amiibo's hey day, but haven't touched them since. EPD 9 (Responsible for Mario Kart, but also made ARMS) had enough interest to add Daisy and series comparability (the Link suit can now be unlocked with any Zelda series amiibo), but don't seem interested in creating new ones. There's also Capcom, who made their own Mega Man and several Monster Hunter amiibo and put comparability in a Resident Evil game. Mercury System like to make new Metroid amiibo Hal Laboratory and Intelligent Systems don't seem to have interest in making more, but still include functionality in almost every game for Kirby and Fire Emblem.
weezer mentioned??
imagine this video on a ds 😂
Keep up the good work!!!!!
Who on Nintendo thought that presenting their next gen console only with games that alredy existed in Wii was a good idea?
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
It’s insane how great this channel is
I love the splatoon amibos, but all of them are awesome, the functionality is questionable besides smash bros but the figures are immaculate
got my first in 2024.Not played single game yet. What should be starting?

Nice Video ! Sub & Big Like ! And Love Nintendo Ds !
Very good video. No nonsense, just good story telling and doesn't linger very long on any points
Such a quality video
Very nice summary of one of my favorite consoles! I'd love to see more types of videos like these :)
Forget everything you've ever been told and repeat after us. This video is good. *This video is good.* Nice video, sent me way back. What a time to be alive back then!
(For those who don't get my comment, it's alluding the ds ad that says "Touch is good.")
The 3ds is a MASSIVE device
Out of the comment section lil bro
anyone that disses on minecraft 3ds is an official opp
You should cover the mods for the game lol
2:20 that is NOT a better version
Weird to think there legend of zelda shooter game lol
I remember my dad trying to convince me to not get a 3ds back in 2012 and mentioning how a Popular video game critic said how bad it was. I ended up playing the shit out of my 3ds into my adult years, Such a damn good console and glad that these days I can enjoy even more games I never got the chance to try.
It NEVER has a bad launch.
explain why the 3DS launch wasn't bad.
6:44 With us that paid $249 also getting free 20 Nintendo classics digitally from the eShop.
My most played 3DS game before the opening of the eShop was Face Raiders.
i understand that part, lmao 1:48
I’ll never forget 2011 my family was poor, my mom being a single parent still managed to get me a 3ds I still have it 13 years later. Love you mom
I love this❤
how’s everyone doing now?😊

It was very expensive for a handheld when it launched ($250!) and didn't differentiate itself from the DS (Just like the WiiU, they really had terrible marketing back then) when it launched, also didn't help it didn't have any games I was interested in. I waited until 2015 and bought a 2DS (I think for $100 used) as well as Pokemon Alpha Sapphire (The reason I was even interested in it) and X, although I did eventually buy an n3DS XL in 2016 (I think it was for $175 used). 3DS launch kind of reminded me of the original DS launched, at least compared to the GBC/GBA/GBA SP, nearly 50% more expensive without any games I was interested in at launch, only until they released the DS Lite did it start making sense, although there were still no games I was interested in (Pokemon is the sole reason I buy Nintendo systems).
The marketing on the 3DS and Wii U were terrible. I honestly had no idea they were next-gen consoles for like 6 years. I thought the Wii U was just a gimmick controller and the 3DS, same thing.
I remember when I first found out about the 3DS launching at $250 back then I texted a friend of mine and he told me that it was more than one of his paychecks or I think he said it was actually about as much as one of his paychecks. Just not worth it. That was back then of course a paycheck of that amount today would be completely unacceptable. I didn't even bother with the 3DS because I've played other 3DS's like the ones that were at GameStop to play the demo and I played with other people who had the 3DS and I just never really bothered with that 3D feature because it just didn't seem useful to me. When I saw that there was a 2DS which was way cheaper because they didn't have that 3D feature I jumped on board of that pretty quickly. My ex got me the 2DS back in 2014 and it had Pokemon y included. Until I actually got a switch way later, I played my 2DS a lot because I love the 3DS games that were on it as well as the stuff I could download and play and watch like how there was a Nintendo video app that I watched dinosaur office and Shaun the sheep on add some other stuff, but the fact that it was backwards compatible with the DS made it a really versatile handheld
0:32 so we all had the same childhood? I miss little things like Dinosaur Office, grinding for Play Coins, spending them *immediately* in Find Mii, etc. This console is responsible for so many memories growing up. I’ll always love the 3DS <3
Price argument dont realy fit if you compare to switch price or steam deck
The Steam Deck offered a lot more than either the Switch or 3DS offered at the launch of each combined. Considering the prices of consoles released around the time of the Steam Deck, it was actually the most bang for your buck and the cheapest (tied with the Switch Oled) if you wanted a portable system over a traditional console. More storage than either (even including oled models or 3ds upgrades), included carrying case, and like the 3DS the Steam Deck has compatibility with a library the user already probably owns. Not to hate on the 3DS though, it grew into something amazing, especially nowadays with it's modding scene. The 3DS was a product of it's time, and most shortcomings have been fixed by revisions and hacks. The few shortcomings the 3DS had that couldn't be repaired have just been learned by Nintendo to help them make the Switch into what it is today, though I feel they lost some cool stuff the Wii U and 3DS had and rushed the launch a bit too quick, should have waited until fall of 2017 instead of spring.
I got tricked into getting one just before the price drop by OoT 3D.
had the game card for it aat one point.
Smartphones should have played 3DS cartridges. Just saying.
Dinosaur Office!!! Holy crap I forgot about that
This is art
They definitely should've waited for Super Mario 3D Land to come out to launch the 3DS. It's really the first big original game and really justified the 3D effect. Ocarina of Time 3D and Star Fox 64 3D are pretty good candidates too.
Couldn’t agree more
If they had all 3 on day 1 it would've been the strongest launch line up since the Gamecube
keep up the work , my neighbor
Still have my original 3ds (yes the launch one), the amount of time I played pokemon, the AR games, star wars and others was incredible. The other versions where I lived were 3-4x the price, and the 2ds came years after because of some legal fighting.
Wow
Damn I expected this channel to have like 100k+ subs, this deserves way more recognition!!
Say what you want about the 3ds launch games, Pilotwings Resort is really fun
true its a really good game and if you go for all the stars its pretty long too. i do understand its not exactly a system seller tho
I’m happy I searched for the 3ds pdi check app on here, then TH-cam showed me this instead
banger vid bro
Yooooo, awesome video man!
The only version that you can craft enchanted golden apples That is not Java Plus it's not too complicated
im your 500th subsciber!
Amazing vid! :D
I still have my Mario SSB for amiibo ever since 2014 and I decided to buy myself some spares so I can keep the 2014 version safe. Overall, my two favorites are Mario and Luigi from SSB4
try updating your game
I actually bought myself a physical copy just for shits and giggles, had to import it because they didn't even sell those in Europe!
Lmao, i got the Minecraft Pocket edition, than it gave my pc a virus from Türkiye xD
