Considering it's a documentation of real US history in many ways it has started taking the US by storm once we started finding out about it. Not much advertisement or promotion was done on it here so it's only been know about for the past year or so.

Sure people watch c*ap like Dexter for 8 seasons but excellent show like Mindhunter doesn't get enough viewership. Bizarre. But not surprising... most people have no patience for slower, clever, well filmed and acted films such as this. It's not for general masses which is why it's unlikely it will return. I figured it must have cost a lot to produce because the series looks more like movie meant for the silver screen. With Fincher at the helm it makes even more sense. Sad. Of course I want them to continue but it seems unlikely at this point
