I don’t think re zero is for everyone and I understand why people could fall off that first season since Subaru is not immediately likable and the pacing is a little weird… … but I swear, some of the most braindead takes I’ve ever seen for any anime come from people that hate re zero. Like “did you even watch it” kinds of stuff

Subaru has so many people around him that can build him up. but.. . . season 3 took everything away. it made the cool hero into a generic isekai dude. basically season 3 is plain. i love the show. but season 3 doing dirty to subaru. the main reason why i think hes weak is because and also thanks to this vid i realised. season 3 makes him seem weak. the pationent moments are so dry its easy to ignore them. my problem aint with subaru nor re zero. ITS SEASON 3 XD!!!

This is the same thing with articles covering Re:Zero S3 on sites like gamerant, gamespot, and screenrant. They basically just post the most contrarian opinion possible for clicks. It’s become part of my weekly routine to laugh at bad articles about the new episodes.

CBR always peddle low quality garbage in regard to Re:ZERO, however this article probably takes the cake. I hope the random Indian freelancer who they got to write this in five minutes does not get his rupees.

What did you expect actually ? It's CBR after all. It's self-explanatory. They are famous for hot takes and not watching animes and mangas, missunderstanding, making odd rankings etc. Being like that is part of conditions of working there. I've yet to read anything sensible from them. About much....anything.

More I read this article the more it sounds like this person skimmed through episodes rather then watched. Cause episode 7 had no battles? That entire speech was a battle with the archbishop of wrath who had a strangle hold on every single person feeling despair in that city without that speech and episode 2's deaths the group just loses to wrath and we don't know yet if his save point has changed after getting the dragon blood which would mean they'd have to sacrifice every single person there to win could make a good IF story TBH but not main plot material cause that would go against what Emelia would want.

I feel like whoever does the CBR reviews for ReZero don't even like the show. I read their review for s3 ep2 and was baffled when they were complaining about how gruesome Subaru's death was and how the show relies too much on it. I would understand this complaint if we were halfway through the cour and Subaru had died a bunch of times without making much progress (a lot of people had that complaint with season 2's first cour), but this was literally the first couple deaths of the season!

The reason for why everyone was pushing the rune weapons was because this happens right after the whole “dwarf and dragon” arc, and after that arc Ainz got all the runesmiths from the dwarf kingdom, so now he wants to push these weapons (even though the “promotional” weapons aren’t the ones made by the dwarves) to “put them on the map” again and help to spread them out. Which is his personal “project”. So yeah ma guy tried to help out the economy via the military industrial complex and kinda failed 😅

I’ll admit they handled the scene with the dragon’s blood pretty well. Lowkey, my brother watched it with me and he thought Subaru was going to die the moment his leg was bitten off and Subaru was yeeted across the room. Or even when he got that combo in the air. I told him Subaru is more tanky then you think. Especially when you read the novels, he gets stronger although not quickly but he makes good progress(enough to where he can defend himself).

People don't realise the difference in power between a human from earth and a human from the world of re-zero, i think it has smt to do with being born into a world with od-laguna but i think thats quite literally the entire point of re-zero is to see what happens if you put a regular human from earth, original body and all into a mystical setting with superhumans

my only negative with this season so far are almost all of the character redesigns and that the city seems so bright and colorful even when they are fighting and some gruesome shit happens. In the Sanctuary the colors fit the mood perfectly most of the arc was super dark and so everything was dimmed out even the mansion most of the time. In season 1 we had some bright moments in arc 3 with the appa guy but not to this extend idk the world just seems a bit more generic no hate intended. Also some jokes like subaru headbutting "lilianthana?" (the singer, forgot the name) after he died felt way out of place we never had subaru looping and it being followed up by a joke (or more like comedic relief in this case). The character designs are weird to me like why make them cuter and more shiny in a show this dark? it generally looks "prettier" but it doesnt fit rezero. rezero should have a good balance between looking morbid and looking pretty and colorful and so far its too colorful. Most of these issues (for me atleast) are probably because of the new director. Thats maybe also the reason the cinematography seems to be mostly missing and feels a bit low budgedy even though the animation is generally better than season 2 atleast. Season 2 felt really good even with the covid situation they did a masterful job by instead of focusing to make the animation look stellar animation they prioritized the dialogue, cinematography and saved their budget for the most important bits. I think thats kind of lacking in Season 3. It all just feels "good" but nothing overly crazy im sure the story can make up for it though (i mean its re zero we're talking about here) Re Zero is my favourite show of all time and i like the season its just that this season doesnt feel like it will reach its full potential but i dont know i guess well see. i dont want the best fiction of all time to be tarnished by some changes because of a director change. edit :One more thing there are some scenes where the dialogue seems very unorganic and it feels like it has no tension. Like the scene where heinkel got introduced. I definetly despised heinkel but i didnt feel any tension or something. Maybe its just that i read half of arc 5 before watching this season so im just biased by my own interpretation of how re:zero should be adapted

He can handle himself quite well so he shoulda been able to put up a fight against Sirius before he kicked the bucket. But hey that’s what fan stories are for. And you my friend, know how to cook with your stories and illustrations🙏🏾
