I am actually quite excited to try the new sixtyfive because I owned the OG sixtyfive and I still love that board quite a lot. Since this is a review unit, colours were limited but in the end I opted for green top and white bottom. At first I was not sure of the colour combo but it turned out so good! My bf was captivated by the board when I unboxed it because this shade of green is actually is favourite colour. So I have decided to build this board for him which is why I used tactiles in this build (he prefers heavy switches). I also chose a more neutral colour keycap set to match the aesthetic of the board.
I think the walnut accent and copper weight go so well with the board as well. Pats self on the back for making the right decision. Recently I have been vibing with PC plate so I chose it for this build. It was also a bit hard to find sound tests with the PC plate config so I was curious how it would sound on the sixtyfive. The build with lattice mount and no foam obviously sound the best to me. But I also love the config with case and plate foam and lattice mount! The spacebar is so snappy in that particular config!
I cannot compare this to the OG sixtyfive since they both have different configurations, plates and mounting styles. But I do notice that the new sixtyfive sounds and feels very similar to the envoy.

*this board was sent to me by KBDfans Margo is now in-stock over at KBDfans: kbdfans.com/r?id=rhk7r0 (affiliate link) The Margo build reminds a lot of the KBD67 Lite as the internals are practically the same. And that is the unfortunate thing about this board. The silicone gasket mounting makes the board sound super flat. It's a pity since the case is gorgeous! The detail on the weight bar is m...

*this board was sent to me by LAZYDESIGNERS @jackylijun The Dimple sound profile and mounting style is very similar to the Cloud (top mount). And you know I had to choose the e-yellow case! I wasn't sure with the WKL layout at first but I recently have been loving WKL layout. I w...

*this board was sent to me by NuPhy Today's video features a pre-built 75% board from NuPhy, the Halo75 v2. Although modding the board is possible, I did not showcase it. Very nice build. I cannot wait to get mine!
Forgive me, but, what is the purpose of installing the stand-offs? I haven't seen a keyboard have them yet. I am curious what is the result of not installing them into the Neo65
Stand offs are used so that the plate is secured well onto the PCB and maybe distribute the flex more evenly. But usually switches alone can secure them together. I used stand offs here cause cherry browns only has 3 pins. I added the stand offs just in case😅
The Margo brass weight is soooo beautiful Loved the showcase as well 🌞
Thank you 🙏
I swear this is one of the most gorgeous boards I've seen this year so far. However, it's just unfortunate that the sound is kind lacking. Still, great build!
It’s definitely the mounting style and the silicone mute😕 I was truly disappointed after I built it because the case is gorgeous!
The whole board looks so pretty and your video as well.. man what a board! Simple yet stunning back design and the sound is quite nice to my ears too. Lovely lovely!!!
Ordered this keyboard off CannonKeys and I went to put it together and it did not come with the rubber standoffs. I emailed their support emailing and am waiting a reply. I hope this doesn't make it impossible for me to build this keyboard
Fantastic these two colors turn out great! And just wondering, have you explored the hype around Awekeys metal keycaps? I'm keen to learn more about their distinguishing features!
As a matter of fact awekeys reached out to me when they first started out as a brand. I said I was interested to see their keycaps but they ghosted me since then🤷♀️ never figured out why
Which configurations sounds the best ?
Personally, this board sounds best with all the foams and gasket mount
May I know which keyboard are you using for the keycaps? 😊
QK65 r1
Bridge75 Plus - Rainy75 Pro; perfect, just perfect (for its price value)
There are not too many sound tests, thank you for taking the time to try so many configs. I need one more board and am thinking of this one, this video gave me a great idea (given I understand it will sound different in person) of what options I might want for config. I like more thocky than clacky so I'd probably go with a different place but I think you get the idea. Thanks again!
that looks soooooo pretty omg
which do you prefer mint or raspberry?
They both sound similar. I would go for raspberry cause mint is too light for me
send me some xd
Are they dishwasher safe
75% is the way to go absolutely my favorite 😁
Can you use these with linear switches or do you require tactiles with higher actuation force to keep them up? [
I’ve been using them with linear switches and have no issues so far. The actuation force of the Kang whites in this vid is about 45g and the keycaps seem to hold up quite well
🤔
🗣️🗿
👨❤️👨
I personally like the sound of mine with Metal pole switches and just plate foam and the silicone for heft. It is a fun different sound than all my clacky monsters out there. Wonderful video! And your keycap/board combos are just so darn good everytime
Someone on my IG also recommended metal pole switches but I haven’t got the time to test them out😭 Thank you so much for the kind words🙏
@@key_rist lol that was also me. I was curious if you got around to that! This my first YT video I’ve watched of yours. Keep it up!
@@MrSkullhead0 oh I was gonna ask if that person was you but didn’t want to assume😅 I will test it out soon!
Definitely either case foam or all foams haha. Doesn’t seem to be a really good in between in terms of sound.
I agree. All foams sounds and feels the best to me
Did you like all foams with silicon pad or without silicon pad more?
No silicone for sure!!
interesting alternative to the bauer lite! love it. definitely not as good of a sounding board, but it's much cheaper :D
I prefer a smaller layout so would like to try the Bauer lite and compare to this board one day!
Thank you for the review. How did you enjoy the GMK Botanical Keycaps in overall feeling, and soundwise in comparison to the stock keycaps?
I couldn’t tell a difference between the stock and GMK keycaps with all the foams actually! GMK keycaps has a bit of rough texture to it and should sound a bit higher pitch
I never heard such a creamy clack. Sounds super nice
I love these keyboards I have the black version for my Mac setup and just bought the mojito for my pc set up. Should be here in a couple of days . Great video.
Looks like we both built our TB8's with Xinhais! Haha They're awesome~ Great video!
No way hahaha when I saw the blue I knew the xinhais would be perfect😂
i buy cycle7 because of the catch ball system and now all keyboard has it haha very nice
Dont worry, the C7 is probably still the champion.
It’s sad how much money small creators like you spend on things and how little views they get
How is the TB8 compared to the neo80?
They’re quite similar in a lot of ways but different. Neo has more mounting styles and I much prefer the sandwich mount on the Neo. Whereas I like the gasket beans on the tb8. And Neo has a lower price point too which makes the Neo better in value. So it’s totally up to what you’re looking for at the end of the day
@@key_rist thank you for the response. Actually I'm using a sandwich-mount neo80 right now, and I'm totally in love with its "hard" typing feel. Also, I'm not a fan of "springy" typing feel, and eventhough I've tried gasket mount (both gasket-bean and gasket-jacket mount), I always find myself coming back to top mount/sandwich mount on my neo80. However, I'm gonna getting another tkl, and I'm considering the TB8 and the cycle 8. The former seems to be better sounding and the latter seems to be better candy to my eyes. Or, should I just get another neo80?
@@namvu1956 if you already have the Neo and you prefer stiffer typing feel, then I don’t think you need the TB8. The top mount on the tb8 is not bad but I still prefer the sandwich mount typing sound on the neo80! I’m not sure about the cycle8 since I’ve never tried it!
Just ordered the purple ones
how did it go?
@@il_kiri better than I could have expected
Gud taste in music
Lovely video
No foam FTW
This build is so sick. Absolutely love these 40% WKL boards.
This with cookies n cream keycaps would be ❤
Wish I have the cookies n cream set🥲
@@key_rist I wish oreo make deskmats, like snack themed deskmats 😭
Hi, how would you describe the colour since its hard to determine under your warm light. Im hoping for a dark brown but ik its reflective and metallic which may affect it
I’m not good at describing colours😅 but I think the colour is similar to the colour of a chocolate bar. Definitely not warm as what you see in my video. There are also a couple of irl pics you can search on google too if that helps
the balls of slapping the pcb to the bottom case 😂 many cycle pcb got destroyed because of that
Had to add the case foam because of that😭
actually sounds better than all the budget 100 dollar alu foamy boards
wait...people actually use 40% keyboards?
I love the build! And EXCELLENT video 👀🔥
omg it's so cute!! 🌞
WKL 40% is NUTTY. I love it.
It's so cute !!! This one is keycaps friendly compare to other 40% keebs, haha.
Yeah that’s why I chose the solder version! The hotswap layout is very limited
It’s just a basic dysub set like so many on Chinese websites considering the simple mods I would have opted for double shot PBT
Can you tell me what case that is? I have a cerakey black and white build but I'm thinking about a green and pink one too!
It’s the QK65 r1 in Green. I think the avocado colourway on the recent QK boards should be close to this green
what are those little square things that came with the stabilizers? mines came with them but have no clue where they're for
They’re to secure stabilizers. I showed how to do them in the video at around 08:12
Not me just now realizing I've been sharing your video to show how great my ergo is going to be 😅 Thanks for the phenomenal review
Super informative! Thanks for the great video!
Do you feel any echo sound on no case foam or no plate foam build in reality?
I’m not sure what you meant by echo sound. But without the case or plate foam, the board sounded very thin. I prefer this board with foams
