Yeah, I'm starting to like the BF109 more than I used to.

Yeah, I was trying to dive on the guy and kept losing him against the ground, then finally found him co-alt. A lot of it was me trying to stay alive. I think I nearly hit the ground twice.

Hey, yes, I can make a few recommendations for you depending on your level of technical skill/budget. Really cool stuff but requires a 3d printer and assembly would be found in Authentikit.org. If you are looking for something more out-of-the-box, I would recommend getting a set from Winwing or from VKB. I personally have the Winwing Orion F18 hotas and rudder pedals. From VKB, I would recommend their Gladiator NXT Evo Space combat or Gunfighter WWII edition and their WWII Throttle combo. Those come with a ton of buttons, axes, and other doodads that you can assign. For rudder pedals, entry level, you can get the Thrustmaster FRPs and those will serve you decently well. If you want to upgrade from those, the Winwing rudder pedals with the damper are excellent, but the price jump is considerable. I hope this helps.

I do War Thunder, or used to, but not as much now.

Kinda hard to do with the US planes as even the 50 cals have rubber bullets.

I got lucky. I'm still practicing and often whiff my shots.

​@@blackcatactualKeep it on the ground a little longer (until 180 kph) if you take off without flaps. Then gently pull up. Make sure your trim is set to 1 nose down.

Yeah, it's just quite absurd snapping your stick in random directions and then figuring it out later as your aircraft falls to the ground. If I had a wingman, they would have been able to make a pass on him before he recovered from the spin. Too bad I didn't at this time.

I have noticed that they do happen a lot, but not excessively so and they only happen when your cockpit is exposed to the fire.

It is the FW190-D9. It could be considered a high-tier FW190. It's one of the later models. In War Thunder, I think it's Tier 4, but this is IL-2.

@@blackcatactual you're a Dora, you can easily throw a short fight with a Mustang, especially since he had rocket pods xd Besides, it only worked because there was just one enemy around who didn't really care for you apart from dodging
